《Soulmate? (Killua Zoldyck x OC Sakamaki)》Chapter 3 - 𝕄𝕖𝕖𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕂𝕚𝕝𝕝𝕦𝕒

Ringing ran through the whole room gathering our attention.
One side of the wall started to open up wide. A man with purple hair and a mustache spoke, "I apologize for the wait. The entry period for Hunter applicants has ended. The Hunter Exam will now begin!" Kurapika, Leorio, and Gon looked more confident and prepared to do any trail we had to do.
"A final caution. If you are short on luck or ability, you could very well end up seriously injured or even dead. Those who accept the risks, please follow me. Otherwise, please exit via the elevator behind you."
Everyone stood silent, they all stood still in their spot. But no one told me this was going to be dangerous. Then again it's mostly my fault I did lie about actually taking the Hunter exam.
"Very well. All 404 applicants will participate in Phase One."
He sprung around taking big steps forward but for some reason, he seemed like he was simply walking. This world keeps on getting weirder and weirder. We kept on walking until he ended up increasing his speed. We all started to run behind him, completely confused. I ran in between Kurapika and Gon.
Leorio-"W-What?"
Gon-"The people in front started running."
Kurapika-" He's picked up the pace."
Victoria -" I'm surprised it seems like he's only walking but now it's more like walking-running."
The three of them nodded at me.
In front of us, the purple-haired man spoke again," I neglected to introduce myself. I am Satotz, the Phrase One examiner. I shall lead you to the second phrase."
A man then questioned Satotz while he was running. I could hear everyone saying that the exam has begun. How annoying these humans have been, not the ones I have been hanging out though. Since they have been very entertaining so far.
"You must follow me to phrase two. This is the exam's first phrase."
That doesn't sound too bad. I didn't pay much attention but I noticed how far Satotz was. To be honest I had the urge to run right past him.
A loud voice made my ears ache, "Hey! Wait up, kid!" Of course, I would recognize that voice it's the one and only LeOreo. "Hm," the silver-haired boy that past LeOreo had a skateboard he was riding on. "You should show the hunter exam some respect!" LeOreo stated to us although I don't recall any rules.
"What do you mean?" The silver hair boy said and I must add he had these gorgeous blue eyes that almost reminded me of Shu's eyes.
"Why are you using a skateboard? That's cheating!"
I turn to face Gon, "Should we say something I mean he wasn't cheating since Satotz didn't clarify the rules." He nodded, "Yeah your right now that I remember."
Gon ran closer to them, "No, it isn't." A confused face appeared on LeOreo, "Huh? Gon, what are you saying?"
Gon-"The examiner only told us to follow him."
Victoria-"You know Gon's right."
LeOreo-"Whose side are you two on, eh?"
The boy then started to ride slower to match Gon's and I's pace. "Hey, How old are you two?" The boy questioned us. "I'm twelve years old." Gon says with a voice filled with excitement. I admire that, I soon was interrupted by my train of thoughts, "How about you." The silver-haired boy looks at me with his head slightly tilted, "I'm also twelve."

The last time I checked I was twelve or did I forget my age? The boy jumped out of his skateboard and catches it in mid-air. "Guess I'll run too." "Wow!" I have to also admit any regular person wouldn't be able to do that trick. "I'm Killua." "I'm Gon"
What! Am I seeing true friendship forming right here? To be honest I don't even know what a friend is like after all the only friends I would have would be my brothers. Subaru would mostly keep me away from any boys so I couldn't be friends with them.
Killua looks at me again which surprises me. "It's Victoria"
He tilts his head a bit towards me, "You have a weird name." Oh trust me your name itself is weird then again I wouldn't be surprised if my name was weird. "I guess it is but your name is also weird ." I laughed a little while he gives me a light smile. Even if the smile was small it made me blush, I looked away.
We ran for hours and I soon got bored with running. Should I run ahead and wait for them there it would be better wouldn't it. LeOreo stopped running and tried to catch his breath.
Gon had stopped with Killua by his side.
I continued running with Kurapika who had focused on running while hours had passed. "Hey, Kurapika I'm speeding up more." He nodded and then shook his head, "I can't believe you still have energy in you." I only gave him a laugh. Gon and Killua ran past me but looked back at me. I took a deep breath before running with the speed of a vampire. I zoomed past Killua and Gon to see their shocked expressions. I ran past everyone and didn't miss Hisoka's creepy smile he gave me. Soon I caught up with Satotz, "You wouldn't mind if I went past you do you." I see his eyes widen slightly before nodding at me. I ran up the stairs and kept on running until I reached the end.
I waited patiently at the outside of the gate. After what felt like hours I turn about to see Satotz coming up the stairs. Once he reached the stairs he stared at me before looking back.
"Goal!"
Gon and Killua yell out together. "Yay! I win," says Gon with a big smile on his face. "What are you talking about? I was faster.." Both of them started to argue with each other which caused me to laugh. Killua turns to me with a rather gentle look on his face, "Hey why are you laughing." I shook my head, "Oh it's nothing just ignore me." He looked at me with a confused look.
Both of them continued arguing and then turned around to look at Satotz. "Hey, who was faster?" Satotz then tells them they came at the same time. I continue to listen to their conversations. Satotz turned to me, "You're rather extremely fast. You don't even look tired at the very least." I made a nervous face and looked in a different direction, "You could say I have been training for many many years now." He nodded at me while Killua looked at me suspiciously.

Fog surrounded the whole area as people started to come. I pat my pockets, if I recall I always hold certain items with me when I need them. I found my mp3 player that Shu had given me as a gift once I put it back inside my pocket. I'll use it later when we stop running.
I sat right next to Killua while Kurapika and LeOreo came up. Kurapika turns to me to remind me of my sunglasses. "Hey, Victoria you'll be able to take off your sunglasses for a while," Kurapika says to me while I shake my head. "I don't want to take any chances maybe once it turns to night or when I'm inside a building." They nodded at me in understanding while Killua looked confused again, "Oh right I haven't told you. I guess you could say my eyes are allergic to the sun." he tilts his head before whispering the word weird. "I know right." His eyes widened slightly which I only giggled at how shocked he was.
"The Numere Wetlands, also known as Swindlers Swamp. We must cross these wetlands to reach phase two of the exam. This place is home to many bizarre animals, many of them being cunning, insatiable creatures who deceive humans and prey upon them. Be very careful. If you let them fool you...you're dead." Satotz explained everything about where we were. It's good to know more about where we are but to know that creatures are normal here is rather strange as well. Welp, at least I'm not a human right, as long as I don't get any critical injuries.
The gate that we came from started to close down on a man Who had almost reached the top.
"These wetland creatures will use every trick in the book to fool their prey. An ecosystem in which creatures obtain food through deceit... Hence the name Swindlers swamp. Stay very close to me so you won't be deceived."
Every creature is terrifying as well as creatures of the night. Nevertheless, it's good to know more about this swamp. It also gives me an idea of what I'll be expecting.
"Don't let them fool you!"
A random voice yells out to all of us.
"D-Don't fall for it... He's lying to you! He's an imposter!" The man was injured and pointed at Satotz. I was completely confused, "He isn't an examiner...I'm the real examiner." it instantly hit me, his words sounded familiar to a liar. When it came to my siblings lying, it would make me furious and most of the time I did catch them lying to me. I glare at the man, "Look at this..." he took out a monkey that looked like Satotz. I had the urge to yell out in frustration at who was real and who was the real imposter. I hold back my anger to avoid attention.
"It's a man- faced ape, one of the creatures that dwell in the Numere Wetlands! Man-faced apes love the taste of fresh human flesh. However, their limbs are long and thin, so they're quite weak. That is why they disguise themselves as humans. They trick humans into following them into these wetlands. Where they team up with other animals to kill and devour them."
This man talks way too much a lot more than Satotz and the man has yet to finish.
"He intends to trap every single applicant!"
Cards immediately came towards the imposter and Satotz, not just them two-three cards went towards me as well. The imposter failed to catch the cards and had been stabbed with them while Satotz caught them with ease. I don't know how the hell he was able to attack me from here but he did, I caught them quickly which made Killua and Gon look at me in awe. I threw two cards at him faster than he did to me which one card cut the side of his cheek while the other card he caught. I lifted the card to my face to see which card it was. The ace of spades. I then proceed to make the ace of spades disappear in a blink of an eye.
Hisoka laughs silently, "I see, I see...That settles it... You're the real one." Hmm, it would make sense the examiner needs to be strong enough to lead everyone right. Although the question still stands, why the hell did he throw three cards at me!
The monkey that looked like Satotz got up in a hurry and started to run away. "Examiners are Hunters selected by the committee to perform this duty without pay. Any Hunter, bearing the title we seek, would have been able to block that attack." Hisoka explained his actions to all of us. And yet he hasn't said why he had attacked me as well.
"I shall take that as a compliment. However, should you attack me again, for any reason, I will report you for turning on an examiner. And you will be immediately disqualified. Are we clear?" Satotz responded to Hisoka.
Hisoka replies to him with a simple surety.
A dark presence surrounded me which caught Hisokas attention, "Why the hell did you throw your cards at me huh!" I crack my knuckles to try and calm myself before I break anything. He only smirks at me with a creepy smirk, "oh~ I just wanted to see what you were capable of. You caught my fullest attention~"
I don't think I want your attention at all right this moment and if Subaru heard him say that he would have been furious. I cross my arms, "hm! I'll let it pass for the time being you bastard of a clown." people's eyes widened a bit because of the insult I gave Hisoka. "Are you crazy!" Killua yells at me. Hisoka only frowned at what I said and looked away.
.
.
Birds started to eat away at the man faced ape.
Satotz explained to us what had happened and what we had to be careful around.
We then continued to follow him to the second phrase while I ran with Gon and Killua.

Here's a couple of rules that I'd like to enlighten upon you. Number one, you do not talk back to me. And two, you don't mess with me or the rules," his breath fans my face and I close my eyes. The proximity between us was terrifying. "I've dealt with many bitches like you, so I suggest that you follow those rules unless you want to end up like them," - he leans in. His mouth lingers near my ear, "used."... "... You might think that you run this place, but you do not run me. Understand? And the sooner you understand that, the better it'll be for the both of us," I warn staring right into his eyes before walking away. I was more than amused by his dumbfounded expression.
