《Unforgivable ✔️》Chapter 12

She ran towards us with other running close behind her. There weren't that many men after her. As they ran I noticed they were pulling their shorts up higher. They must have shifters back into their human form while chasing her.
Shayne's hold on my arm tightened as our intruder got closer. Before she could reach any of us she was tackled to the ground. I looked around and the humans were all gaping at the men who tackled her. This wasn't the place to be making a scene.
"We need to get away from the humans." I said.
"Get in the car." Shayne opened the door for me and practically pushed me in. Jake got in after me and looked out the window. Bree struggled against Alex and the others that were trying to restrain her. The humans continued to stare but kept their distance. Chase was out there trying to get them to continue on with what they were doing. Their excuse for the scene was a jealous ex girlfriend gone mental.
Shayne didn't wait for the scene to clear out. He headed straight for the pack house. Once we got there he dragged me out of the car and was walking me to the house.
"What are you doing?" I asked, trying to get out of his hold.
"I don't want you in danger when they bring that girl. Stay inside and wait for me to come home."
"She isn't going to hurt me." I told him.
"I'm not taking any chances."
"Bree is crazy but she isn't dangerous." Jake was the only one who seemed calm when he spoke. He didn't seem worried at all that Bree had been able to find us.
"You know this girl?" Shayne asked.
I took the small pause as an opportunity to get out of his hold. I didn't want to be left out of this. Shayne frowned at me when I got out of his reach. He didn't get to say anything about it because a black SUV that belonged to the pack made its way to us.
Chase got out of the car and other poured out. I shook my head at all of them. Did it really take that many just to handle one girl? I almost wanted to laugh remembering when they chased after me. They tended to exaggerate quite a lot.
Alex dragged Bree out of the car and she tried to make a run for it. When she spotted Jake she started asking him for help. She was putting a great effort trying to slip away from all of the guys.

"Tell them to let her go." I told Shayne. "She isn't going to cause any harm."
It seemed that speaking was a wrong thing to do. Bree looked at me as if seeing me for the first time. She stopped struggling against everyone. A fierce look took over her features.
"You." She spat.
"Bree-"
"This is all of your fault! Why do you always have to get on the middle of things? First Jake and then- ugh! I hate you!"
I wasn't expecting her to say that. I expected a few rude comments but not that. I knew she wasn't my number one fan but I didn't think she hated me.
"Bree, calm down before you get yourself into even more trouble." Jake said, taking a step closer to her.
"You keep your damn mouth shut!" She shouted. "You always preferred her. Why is Sage so damn special? She should have died, but you had to go save her. She's a worthless-"
"Watch your mouth." Shayne threaten. "I won't allow you to talk about my mate in such a way. You're crossing my territory and I can have you executed."
Bree looked at Shayne in shock. Her eyes jumped from me to him. After the shock had passed her she threw her head back and laughed.
"Oh this is just too good. Your mate is an Alpha?" She laughed bitterly. "Jake, how can you still follow her like a lost puppy? You must still be in love with her."
"What are you talking about?" Shayne asked, narrowing his eyes.
"Bree, shut up!" Jake snapped.
"Oh, he doesn't know?" She said. "Jake-"
"Is my brother." I cut her off.
Bree laughed again and I gave her a warning look. I hadn't been able to explain to Shayne that Jake wasn't my brother. To me Jake was blood. He was more of a family to me than my real family could ever be.
"Right," Bree said, stretching out the word. "he's your brother."
"Sage, what the hell is going on here?" Shayne asked impatiently.
"Nothing is going on. We know this girl. Please tell them to let her go. She isn't going to cause any harm to me or the pack." I said.
"I don't trust her."
"Bree will behave, I'll make sure of that." Jake said. "I'll talk to her."
"I don't want to talk to either of you. This is all on you, Sage, and seeing the look on your mates face I can tell you've been very bad. I can't believe he actually thinks Jake is your brother."

I felt my heart begin to beat faster. I was closer to Jake than I was to Shayne at that moment, and for that I was glad. The look that came over Shayne was of full rage. He looked at me accusingly.
"What is she talking about?" Shayne asked through gritted teeth.
"I can explain-"
"So it's true." He growled out.
"J-Jake isn't my brother but-"
"You lied to me?" His voice was low and threatening.
"I-I didn't-"
"Don't lie!"
"Don't talk to her like that!" Jake growled out. He stepped in front of me in a protective stance. "Sage might not be my blood but to me she is more than my sister. I care about her as if she were my family."
"All this time you've been with him. He's not you're brother. Are people even after you? Did you lie about that too?"
"What? No!"
"How long have you been with him?" He asked. "How long?!"
"Calm down. It's not like that." Jake said. "We never-"
Shayne threw himself at Jake. Shayne shifted into his wolf halfway through his jump. Jake had only a second to react before Shayne could claw at him. He jumped back and pushed me out of the way. Sam was there to get me out of the way and help me up.
Jake and Shayne were both in their wolf forms going at each other. Shayne was by far bigger than Jake. He towered over him by a few inches. Jake was only trying to block Shayne but he was t fighting back. Shayne was doing everything he could to get in a bite or a scratch.
"Stop fighting!" I cried.
I struggled against Sam. No one made a move to separate Shayne and Jake. I sobbed as I heard flesh tearing and the scent of fresh blood filling my senses.
"Please make them stop." I begged Sam.
"We can't intervene," Sam said. "Alpha's orders."
I couldn't watch anymore. I fell back against Sam and began to cry. Sam held on to me and sat me down on the ground. I held on to him and tried to block everything out. All I could think about was that I was the one to blame for all of this.
I heard Jake groan and I turned to see him laying on the ground. Another sob escaped my as I saw his body covered in blood. He was badly injured.
I pushed Sam off of me and ran to Jake. Shayne continued to stay in his wolf form. He was breathing heavily. When I tried to get closer to Jake he stood in front of me and blocked me. I tried to go around him but he would nudge me away with his snout. At one point I fell back because he used too much force. Shayne looked down at me and growled.
"You're going to hurt me too?" I challenged.
Shayne froze and I took that as my opportunity to go to Jake. I crouched down in front of him and tried to inspect his wounds. They were healing but very slowly-even for a wolf. He needed a pack doctor to help treat his wounds.
"Someone get the pack doctor!" I said.
I looked around and no one made a move. I looked at Sam and gave him a pleading look. No one wanted to get any help. I found Bree frozen in one place with her eyes widened. She looked to be in shock and frightened by the entire scene. I narrowed my eyes at her. I would have to deal with her later, but Jake needed help.
"Isn't anyone going to help?" I asked. No one answered my question. "If no one is going to help me then I'm leaving and finding someone who will."
I tried to move Jake but he groaned out in pain. My small threat seemed to have worked because Shayne managed to take control of his wolf and shift. He was still shaking from anger.
"Don't touch him, Sage."
"Then get the pack doctor to help him!" I snapped at him. "He's bleeding to death."
Shayne actually had the audacity to roll his eyes. "Chase, take him to the pack doctor. Sam, you go with him too. I want that girl locked up. I will decide what we do with her later." Shayne began to hand out orders, and then turned to look at me. "As for you, we're going to have a long talk."

The White Rabbit
In the Urillian Empire, the Empress Xandra rules three-quarters of the planet Xren from her home in the capital of the Earth Continent. Both the fire and water peoples have fallen under her might after a series of wars stretching back three centuries. Earth elves, under Xandra's rule, have spread throughout the planet and established colonies, and are, by all accounts, enjoying what seems to be a prosperous and happy existence. But not everyone in Uril is happy. The holy books speak of elves as the Chosen People of Thesis, tasked with guiding and protecting the lower races. For some people, this scripture has been interpreted to designate their life as one on the lowest rungs of society. Humans have been reduced to a slave class, and serve their elven masters under Xandra's rule, kept at bay by the constant fear of the dreaded Emerald Knight, and their own perceived weakness. Humans do not lead long lives, nor do they possess the wisdom, power, or magical acumen of their elven masters. But there is hope. A group of people have banded together to fight against Xandra, her Knight, and her empire. They call themselves the "Knights of Order" united under the principle idea that Xandra's reign has brought chaos unto Xren, and they wish to restore order. These Knights are led by a man named Xaxac Brigaddon, spoken of as a legend. They say that when the moons are full, some humans transform into powerful beasts. They say that Xaxac is the most powerful warrior on Xren, that in his youth he was enslaved and forced to fight other humans to the death in a bloodsport called "cage fighting", that he could not be touched and held the world championship title for three years running until he faked his own death and escaped his master to join the resistance. They say that he has friends in high places- noblemen, pirates, and the devil himself. They say that if you can find him, he can ferry you to freedom in places where the Earth Elves fear to tread. They say that he is immune to magical attack, and his eyes shine like the silver moon. They say that he is descended from Quizlivian Brigaddon, one of the humans who helped the demon Magnus escape a god. They say that if you want to walk the Path of Order, you should follow the White Rabbit.Come and watch the transformation from human boy to Knight of Order: The life and times of Xaxac OfAgalon OfLangil Brigaddon. Content Warning: This work is based on the real experiences of human trafficing survivors. Xaxac's origins are based on true events, and they are presented realisitcally; this includes but is not limited to: isolation, gaslighting, emotional and sexual abuse, and grooming tactics. This work is meant to hold a mirror up to society; it is based on the real of experiences of people who have experienced slavery and/or abuse. It is an adult work and probably should not be read by anyone under the age of 18. If you are a survivor of human trafficing and/or abuse, your feedback is welcome, but please do not read this if you think it may trigger your trauma. I did not write this with the intention of harming anyone, but rather to provide accurate representation for a group that does not normally get it in the hopes of changing the zeitgeist. I would like to see a world where more people understand what these experiences are like, so that real survivors do not have to deal with microagressions from an ignorant public. Reader discretion is highly advised.
