"So now that we're dead, what're we going to do?" Gale asked rhetorically, as the televised event shut off.

"Isn't it obvious?" Peeta spoke up and all eyes diverted to him. "Kill me." He said.

"Peeta-" I began, protesting his words.

"I murdered one of our squad members, I'm a mutt. And I'll probably snap once more. I'm not in control." He looked to me. I shook my head at him, I understood, but I just couldn't see a life without him at this point.

"If it gets to that point, I'll kill you myself." Gale stated and I looked back to Peeta from across the room. I couldn't let that happen. Even if it got me killed in the process. It was my job to help him, protect him, and keep him safe.

As the night went on, we sat around waiting. The monitor flashed once more, with another message. It began flashing our faces as if it were the Hunger Games once more. Each of our faces appeared with the sound of a cannon, that familiar brutal sound I always dreaded hearing. Finnick laughed a little when his flashed. "Dead and it's still a living hell." I muttered to him, handing Peeta some of the food I had stashed on me.

Snow began his message and I couldn't even begin to listen as he just bashed on Katniss. But suddenly, Coin surprisingly interupted and we all perked up, curious as to what she had to say.

"Hello, I am President Coin of District 13 and leader of the rebellion. I've interupted a broadcast from your President as he attempted to defame a brave young woman. I had the privelage of knowing her. She survived the Hunger Games and a quarter quell." Coin spoke to the world of Panem.

"There's that goddamn word again." I mocked, annoyed with the whole quarter quell thing.

"Quarter quell, quarter quell." Finn made fun of me as I rolled my eyes and nudged him to the side.

"It's so redundant." I scoffed.

"Dead or alive, Katniss will remain the face of this revolution!" Coin insisted, tears filling her eyes and a lump seeming to form in the back of her throat. It was just an act. Coin didn't truly care for Katniss all that much, we all knew by this point the original intent was to retrieve Peeta, because he would cooperate. Kat always goes rogue, and I guess that's why I loved her so much. "We will rid Panem of all it's cruel leaders. Thank you and stay safe." She then dissapeared and a picture of Kat with her theme flashed quickly before the broadcast shut off.

"Snow's in his mansion, where is that?" Kat asked, turning on the holagram map.

"It's at least 70 or 75 blocks north." Cressida informed. We then scanned for pods. We figured going underground would be our best bet.

We found an entrance to the tunnels and snuck down there. Peeta continued to stare down towards his feet. I couldn't help but just want to hug him. But I refrained from it. I needed to stop throwing him off and let him be by himself a bit.

As we continued through, a train began to approach so we ran to a wall where we his behind it, making sure to not be seen. We ran across the tracks to a door. And we climbed even further downward under the trains tracks to be even more hidden from being exposed. We ventured through the water, looking for any turns or quicker ways, before Lt. Jackson decided we should rest.

Finn helped Peeta tuck into a little dry hidey hole basically. We all rested a bit, and we definitely needed it. Peeta looked to me as people began to drift off asleep. It was Katniss's turn to watch Peeta so I sat with her as I couldn't sleep much anymore.

"The Capitol used tracker jacker venom on me." Peeta informed us randomly. "Weren't you stung once?" He asked her, remembering.

"Yes." She confirmed.

"And you had a piece of your ear bitten off by one of those birds, right?" He asked me. I brushed my hair behind my ear to reveal it, nodding to him.

"It's an interesting look." I said to Peeta, as the tram sped down the track. He pulled my hair behind my ear and traced the healed skin.

"You look beautiful." He said to me, as my cheeks flushed red. I seemed to do that a lot around him.

"You have to say that." I rolled my eyes and smirked.

"I don't. But I mean it. You could look beautiful if the bird bit off your nose." He joked. I nudged him over and then he grabbed my wrist, pulling me to him, and pressing his cold lips against mine, embracing me entirely.
