《Hollywood Politics {BoyxBoy}》Chapter 16 - Wake Up Call

Ryan's POV
I was awoken by the awful noise of a door opening and a scared yelp.
'Turn off the alarm' I hit Max on the arm, but he just spooned me tighter and mumbled a reply that sounded like a mix between 'I have no alarm set' and 'grgeowjeoiajddsif' into my neck.
He is a morning mumbler.
Is that even a word? Mumbler?
Who cares, sleepy time now.
I relaxed again into Max's warm arms and his warm breath tickled my neck.
'Max?' was suddenly asked and I kept my head under the covers but felt Max move from behind me. Those warm, comforting arms were no longer around me, and suddenly I felt cold.
'Maxxx come backkk,' I tried to say but it came out as 'Maax *yawn* commm bekkk'
'Oh my god Aria,' Max exclaimed and I wished that he would let me sleep. I tried to tuck my face further under the blankets, but the sounds were still able to reach me.
'Uh, sorry, I didn't mean to walk in on something,' some woman's voice came from near the bed.
Wait.
What?
I quickly sat up, letting the blankets fall away from me. The sight in front of me was like a glass of cold water to the face.
'ARIA' I said, pulling the blankets back around me.
Well this was awkward.
'Uh Max, do you know that there's a man in your bed?' she asked, eyes wide.
I looked over at Max, who looked shocked, his gaze moving from me to Aria to back again. His sexy mouth opening and closing like a fish.
'Uh, do you know that RYAN CONNORS is in your bed?' She exclaimed, then just stared at us.
She was just standing in the doorway, her face frozen in a shocked look.
'Uh let's go talk,' Max finally found his words and he got out of bed, thank-fully he had boxers on, and led Aria away.
I quickly got up and found some clothes, walking out and finding them sitting at the kitchen table, Max looking nervous and well Aria just looked shocked.
I sat down on the other side of Aria, who was sitting at the head of the table.
'Aria?' Max tried to draw her attention away from her staring into space, but the brunette wasn't moving.
'Aria?'
She didn't even blink.
I waved my hand in front of her face.
Nothing.
'Aria?'
'Is she dead?' I asked Max.
'She isn't dead.'
'Should I hit her or something?'
'No.'
'She looks really dead, should I give her CPR?'

'Ryan, this isn't one of those scenarios, she's not dead.'
'You sure? She looks dead to me.'
'She isn't dead Ryan, she's just, I don't know, shocked,' he shrugged nervously.
We broke her! Oh god we've broken the poor girl!
MY SEXINESS MUST HAVE BROKEN HER!
Oh god, it was a crime of passion! I didn't mean to break her with my amazing sexiness.
'Your sexiness didn't break her,' Max laughed.
'You're a mind reader? You know my brother is a mind reader too, you guys have that in common. I wonder if you guys read each other's minds at the same time whether you would just hear your own thoughts like coming back to you? You two should try it sometime.'
'Is he on drugs?' Aria asked.
ARIA
SHE'S ALIVE
'You're alive!' I screamed, 'Thank the lord, because I would not fare well in prison. I am just destined to be somebody's bitch.'
'Ryan please shut up.'
Fine Max. Be mean to me. I don't care.
Yes I care. I care a lot.
I was going to get up my annoying boyfriend for telling me to shut up but Aria seemed to be getting back to normal.
'Someone please explain this to me, and use small words, I am barely functioning right now,'
'Ok' Max started, 'Ryan and I met..'
I got a tinsy weiny little bit distracted my Max's glorious body and his pretty mouth moving up and down, so I might have missed most of the story.
Hey! It's my life, I don't need the recap, she did.
Anyway, I was distracted from being distracted when those glorious pink lips stopped talking and suddenly Aria wacked him on the arm.
'You kept this from me for a YEAR!'
'Uh yeah,' She hit him again and I couldn't prevent the laugh that came from my mouth.
Max shot me a dirty look and I mouthed, 'Sorry.'
She hit him again.
'Aria.'
'You were with someone,' *wack* 'for a year!!'
'Yes,' he said timidly and he stood up, backing away from her but the brunette only followed him.
I got up and walked in their direction, snicking about how my boyfriend was being attacked by a chick.
'You were sleeping with RYAN FRICKEN CONNORS for a year!?' *wack*
Hey! We weren't just sleeping together! I was going to make Aria painfully aware of that, but Max beat me to it.
'We aren't just sleeping together.'
'Still, you were DATING RYAN FRICKEN CONNORS for a year!?' *wack*
'Yes Yes, please stop the violence.'

Such a baby, she was just slapping his arm and body and stuff, come on max, you aren't being sucker punched in the face.
I pulled out my cell and started taking a video, this was classic.
'No keep going, this is great,' I laughed.
'Not the time Ryan!' max huffed at me but I just laughed.
'Why didn't you tell me?!'
'We didn't tell anyone!'
'I am your best friend!'
'I know, we just..'
'Can I just have a minute,' She sounded less mad, but more hurt. Max nodded and she walked off.
He came over to me, turning off my video.
'Party pooper.'
'This is fun for you?'
'Yep,' I laughed at him.
'Ryan! Don't laugh, she's actually stronger than she looks,' he pouted, rubbing his arm.
'Oh did the big bad woman hurt my baby!' I cooed at him.
'You're an idiot,' he laughed, putting an arm around my shoulders.
I poked his side, 'yep, but I'm your idiot.'
'That you are,' He kissed my temple.

We had been sitting on the couch, waiting for Aria to arrive for about ten minutes when I started to worry.
'What if she's dead!?'
'Huh?' Max turned to me.
'Well, she's been in there for like an hour.'
'Ten minutes Ryan.'
'Still..'
The rational part of my brain told me that she was fine, and I knew she was, but most of me was feeling awfully guilty. What if she hasn't come out because she hated Max and I for lying to her? I couldn't be responsible for Max and his best friend no longer being friends.
'What if she hates me?'
Max turned to me fast, and cupped my face with his hand, 'What are you talking about, no one could hate you Ry.'
I looked down, 'I'm serious Max, it's my fault, you would have told her, but I wouldn't let you.'
'Ryan' he pulled my face back up 'I love you, and she is my best friend, it doesn't matter what happened in the past, she will love you because I love you.'
I pulled his palm away from my face and leaned into him, the arm that was cupping my face wrapped around me and rested on my back as I held onto him.
I loved him, and I knew how much he loved Aria. They have to be ok.
'Hey guys,' Aria appeared in the doorway and I broke away from Max.
'Come sit down' Max asked her and she joined us, sitting on the adjacent couch.
'So, I have been thinking, and I am really happy for you guys,' Max clasped my hand as she spoke, 'I was a little bit upset that you didn't tell me Max, but I saw you guys just now, and your obviously in love.'
'We are,' I told her, squeezing Max's hand.
'Can I have a word with Ryan please?' She asked max who looked to me.
I nodded and he pressed a soft kiss to my cheek before leaving the room.
She came over and sat next to me.
'I heard what you said, why didn't you want Max to tell me?'
'I was scared that I would lose my image, and my career, but I've realised that Max is more important than that, so we are going to go public in a few weeks.'
'Really? That's great' she pulled me into a hug. I wrapped my arms lightly around the girl, so relieved that she was happy for us.
She pulled away after a few minutes, 'Why are you still dating Claudia Grey?'
'She is my best friend, and it's helping both of our careers.'
'I get that. I have been trying to get Max to date people for his career, but he would never do it. I see why now.'
'Yeah' I had always told Max that if he wanted to date someone for his image or something, that it was alright, but he would always tell me that even the idea of dating someone else never entered his mind. I felt a bit guilty at that, being with Claudia and all, but it made me feel special.
'To be honest, I am glad you two are dating. Max always seemed like the relationship type and I was worried about him for a moment there, but I'm so glad that he's with you.'
'Thank-you.'
She pulled a stray curl from her face and tucked it behind her ear nervously, 'Did he ever tell you that you're my favourite singer?'
Max had complained to me multiple times about how many times Aria would complain about my concerts being sold out or that she had to wait another week for my single to be released. He told me that she once got him my CD for his birthday and when she asked why he started laughing he told her it was nothing, but it was actually because I had boxes of the stuff at my house to hand out as promotions and I had already given Max like ten of them just to get rid of them.
'He mentioned it, I'm doing a concert next week, do you want tickets?'
Her eyes lit up, 'I think you and I will be great friends.'

Necromancer's Resolve
Foster Locke's life wasn't the harshest it could have been. But it wasn't the easiest either. Despite losing the last of his family and having immense debt thrown on him, getting the chance to keep practicing Martial Arts pulled away, and having a completely messed up sleep-schedule, he usually tried his best to stay positive to the outside world. Of course, that wasn't always possible, especially not when he was staring into the glowing eyes of a man-eating creature he had never heard of before. The glowing message-box that accompanied it wasn't much better either. Not to mention the fact that he was suddenly in a dark forest instead of the train station. This isn't a story of great anguish, inescapable peril, or heroic world-saving. Rather, it's one of a young man trying to get by in a world that seems to try his best to kill him. I hope you enjoy the read. --- Cover Image temporary [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
