《Blood to Love | 3rd year》25- Confession

To my pleasure, the Gryffindor common room door was ajar just as the Slytherin one had been. I zipped into their common room and got a few glares from people who knew I was a Slytherin, as I was an enemy. Fred and George stood in the corner, persuading smaller kids to eat some of the candy piled up on the table in front of them.

I shook my head at them but made my way over.

"Hi," I said.

"Should we be talking to her?" Fred asked George.

"Hm. It was probably Ron's fault. I'd say it's safe to talk," George finalized.

"Hi," Fred responded to my words.

"Now you have to decide if it's safe to talk to me? It's been weeks."

"Just safety precautions, love." George winked.

"Unbelievable," I joked, holding my heart.

"Looking for scar head and brains?" Fred asked, looking serious although he made a joke.

"Actually, yes. Do you know where they are?"

"Hagrid's," George sadly stated, most likely knowing about Buckbeaks death sentence.

"I'm off to find them. Quit feeding the kids stuff that makes their tongues grow."

"Never," they said in sync, smirking as I walked out of the Gryffindor common room door. As I left, I heard Fred whispering something to George, but I was too far away to tell what they were saying.

I walked to the exit of Hogwarts and made my way to the outdoor grounds, only passing a few other students on my way. I stepped through the door and walked outside with the wind moving against me.

I strolled down the hill to get to Hagrid's hut. After a few more minutes of walking, I finally made it to the hut. I went up the few steps leading to the door and knocked lightly. Shuffling was heard from behind the door and Hermione hesitantly opened the door. When she saw me, her nervous expression changed to happiness. I tackled her in a hug and she stumbled back quite a bit.

"I've missed you guys!" I said, pulling away from the hug and turning to Harry.

Harry stood up and offered a hug which I gladly took. We only hugged for a couple seconds and I eventually pulled away. Ron was sitting in a chair next to Hagrid.

"Hello Ron," I shortly stated, turning away quickly to face Hagrid as Ron's face shrewd up in confusion.

"Hello, glad yer could come," Hagrid smiled.

"I'm glad to be here. I'm so sorry about Buckbeak. I made sure to give Malfoy a hard time about it."

"You talked to Malfoy?" Harry spat.

"Yes, I went to the Manor with Blaise and Pansy," I said nonchalantly.

"You went to the Manor?" Hermione asked, though immensely more calm than Harry.

"Yes, I'm sorry I didn't talk to you guys much over break. If it makes you feel better I didn't really talk to anyone beside Malfoy, Pansy, and Blaise.

"Why?" Harry bellowed.

"What are you on about?" I asked, confused at his sudden outburst.

"Why'd you go to the Manor?"

"Blaise's mum didn't want us at her house so she arranged for us to go there. It's really not a big deal. I yelled at Malfoy quite a lot during the break. I haven't even talked to him since I got Hagrid's letter."

Hagrid started lightly crying and we all stood there awkwardly, not knowing if we should give him space or comfort him; he was still our teacher after all.

"Have yerself a seat," Hagrid offered while sniffling into a rag.

I sat down across from Ron at the large table. He looked appalled by my actions but I just ignored him. I had better things to do than worry about Rons feelings or confusion.

"Would you like some tea?" Harry whispered, scooting the teacup that he had over to me.

I gratefully took the cup and sipped the tea. It was very sour and unpleasant. Harry chuckled at me and I glared at him while coughing violently. He gave me a slight shrug and I listened to Hermione's attempt to comfort Hagrid.

"Hagrid, it's going to be okay, we will find a way out of it."

"I'm gonna spend the rest a his life lovin' him," Hagrid decided.

"That's a great idea, Hagrid," I joined in.

"Yer lot ought to get going. I'd bet it's dinner time already." Hagrid's big eyes filled with more tears as we left his hut.

"Poor guy," Ron finally said.

We all nodded and headed back to the giant school in view.

"What did you guys do over break?" I broke the silence.

"Well, er —" Harry began.

"Oh just tell her. We snuck Harry into Hogsmeade because he was banned due to the dementors. We overheard a conversation about Sirius Black. Oh! Harry received a fire bolt for Christmas... but I kind of turned it into McGonagall because it could've been darkly charmed or enchanted by Sirius Black himself," Hermione rambled.

"Wow, that sounds interesting."

"What'd you do?" Ron asked uncomfortably.

"When I started out at Blaise's house, we went into a Muggle city and met some cool guys. Then we went to the Manor for Christmas and went to another Muggle city there. Then the Malfoy's hosted a New Years ball which was fascinating."

"You met Muggles?" Harry questioned.

"Yeah, there was this one named George and he was really cool. We actually saw him the second time we went to the Muggle city too and it was an extreme coincidence," I explained, oblivious to Harry's protection-like tone.

"Great," Harry muttered.

"It's not like I'll ever see them again anyways," I went on. "I mean, sure it happened twice but if I do see them, hopefully I'll be out with you guys and then you could meet them. Of course it's a long shot, but it's worth a try."

Hermione looked excited, Harry had a slight sour face, and Ron just looked at me in confusion, once again.

"Whats with the sudden change in heart?" Ron asked.

"Do you mean that because I'm actually speaking to you?" I questioned back.

"Well — yes. I thought you hated me." He stumbled on his words as he spoke.

"I don't hate you, Ron. I do wish that you wouldn't have got involved with me when you had other things on your mind," I chose my words carefully, as the things on his mind were obviously Hermione.

"Right," he squeaked.

We continued walking through the castle doors and made our way to the Gryffindor common room. I stopped right outside the door.

"Actually, I should probably go to my dorm," I called out, beginning to part ways.

Harry rushed back out of the Gryffindor common room and grabbed my wrist before I could walk away.

"Why don't you just stay? Dinner is in just a couple of minutes and it would be a waste to walk all the way to the dungeons," he persuaded.

I took a second to think and finally realized how logical it really was. He led me back into the common room and let go of my wrist so he could sit on the couch.

"Weasels, I told you to stop selling the poor kids candy," I yelled out to the twins who were still surrounded by first years.

Fred and George threw their candy in a box and chuckled at me.

I sat down on the one person couch and relaxed in front of the fire. Fred and George came on either side of me and sat on the arms of the chair I claimed.

"Hello, darling," Fred began.

"Would you be interested —" George said.

"— in marrying us?"

I furrowed my eyebrows while George got down on one knee with a gummy ring. I bursted out laughing and let George put the gummy ring on my left ring finger.

"I now pronounce you snake and weasel," Fred announced, which earned him a punch in the shoulder.

"Snake? How disrespectful," I teased.

Every time the Gryffindor common room opened, Fred told the students to move away from the new married couple. We giggled and George put his arm around me which earned him a cold, disgusted look from Ron and a loud giggle from Hermione.

Harry only slightly laughed along, looking seemingly uncomfortable.

"I'm off to dinner," George began. "Until then, my wife?"

"Sorry to break this up."

On cue, I made my eyes water into tears and bit the gummy off of my finger.

"No!" Fred yelled.

I chewed the gummy and stormed out of the room to walk with the trio, who had already made their way to dinner.

"Don't start," I plainly stated as Ron went to open his mouth to speak to me, most likely going to ramble on about the marriage joke with George.

The twins walked behind us and I looked back every few seconds to earn a wink from Fred.

We entered the great hall seconds later and I parted from the Gryffindor's that were next to me. Pansy waved me over and I walked quickly to sit next to her at the long Slytherin table.

"Hey," I said while sitting next to Pansy.

"How are the Gryffindor's doing?" Pansy croaked.

"They're fine. Why?" I questioned while grabbing an apple off of the table.

"Just wondering. You seemed to be having the time of your life over there."

"They're great, honestly."

"Well, well," Draco began speaking and sitting across from me. "I thought you'd go sit with your new besties."

"They're not 'new besties' you git."

"No need to be so mad at me." He chuckled while pulling Blaise down to sit next to him.

"Would you like me to call up your father?" I raised my eyebrows waiting for an answer.

"Did he give you access to our floo network? How cute. Maybe when mums off shopping he'll invite you over."

"I'll be getting more action than you at leas."

He narrowed his eyes. "Don't fantasize too much about my dad."

"Don't worry, I'll be too busy with Muggle George. Or maybe George Weasley? How about Harry?"

"Like they would ever go for you."

"Watch me," I responded in a menacing tone, though not actually planning to do anything.

"Go along then," he urged.

"Go along with what?"

"Go up to one of them and see if they'll get with you, L/n."

"I'm not giving into your schemes, Malfoy."

"Hm, looks like I won then. You know you can't get any of them, therefore your not even going to try."

"Oh please, I could get them if I wanted."

"Guys stop fighting!" Pansy shouted in a whisper.

"Pansy, calm down," Blaise said while grabbing her hand from across the table.

"I will not! I'm sick of the fighting," she shouted loudly, earning several looks from all around each house table.

"I'm sorry, Pansy. We can go elsewhere if you'd like?" I offered.

"No! I would not like to go elsewhere! I want to hang with all of my friends, together in one place. Now that I see that you aren't willing to try, I'm off to my dorm," she finished, scurrying out of the great hall with a handful of rolls.

I sighed exasperatedly and laid my head on the table defeatedly.

"Nice going," Draco blamed me.

"Me? I swear to Merlin Malfoy I'm going to shove this apple up your —" I shouted stopping as I noticed the students around us staring at the chaos breaking out.

All the tensions and anger was going to be released now or never.

"I can't stand you anymore. I really had fun for awhile until you started getting jealous over Muggles and simply being plain stupid! And you," I yelled, now pointing at Blaise. "You were supposed to be my best friend but you went and sided with him. I am done. My other friends are worth my breaths because all I seem to do is waste it with you! Now if you'll excuse me, I am now leaving."

I huffed then exited the great hall dramatically just as Pansy had done just a few seconds before. As I walked out, I got multiple confused and impressed glances, which I ignored.

"Merlins beard, Y/n."

I turned around to see Fred and George sprinting after me down the hall. I continued quickly walking and making my way to the kitchens.

I heard the same set of footsteps behind me but I tried to escape. Of course with the twins long legs and determination to catch me, my plan didn't go — well, as planned.

I pushed the kitchen doors opened and knew that I was now at a dead end. I greeted the house elves and asked if they would give me another apple, as I didn't end up eating mine. They immediately roamed around and grabbed an apple for me. I sat there and just watched as they shuffled around, cleaning plates and cooking dessert.

The door creaked open and I didn't turn around on my stool. Instead, I more intently, watched the house elves, ultimately wanting to avoid questioning from the twins.

I felt two more creaks next to me and realized that they were sitting on either side of me again, similar to the sofa situation in the Gryffindor common room.

"Everything okay?" Fred softly spoke.

"Obviously not," I calmly replied.

"Let us help," George stated.

"You can't help."

Fred grinned. "Why do you think that?"

"Guys, seriously thanks for trying to help but I'm going to be okay," I said, hinting that I'd like to be alone.

"Of course you're going to be fine, darling," George began.

Fred finished with, "That doesn't mean you can't have a little laugh now."

I shook my head slightly and bit harshly into my apple. Fred and George glanced at each other and nodded, as if they could read each other's minds.

"Ready Fred?"

"Ready George," Fred heroically stated.

They both synchronously leaned in and took a bite out of my apple. I looked at them in shock and bewilderment.

"How did you — read each other's mind." I stumbled on my words while trying to comprehend what just happened.

"We have our ways." Fred smiled.

"You weasels amaze me."

"You'll be amazed if you meet us in the common room at midnight, Freddie has a surprise."

"What kind of surprise?" I questioned, now thoroughly interested in what they had to say.

"You'll see," Fred said while hopping off the stool. "The trio will be awaiting for your arrival as well if that helps."

I scoffed but it turned into a wide smile when I noticed them nodding their heads at each other, as if, once again, they were reading one another's mind.

They unexpectedly gave me a kiss on each cheek and zipped out of the room. I sat there wondering what just happened then felt myself blush, which I internally scolded myself for.

For the rest of the day, I wracked my brain, wondering what kind of surprise the twins were planning. I also continued avoiding Blaise, Pansy, and Draco whenever they appeared within sight.

It was close to midnight so I warily walked through the dungeons and to the Gryffindor common room, not wanting to be caught by Filch; he would surely punish me severely.

After turning each corner and making sure the coast was clear, I knocked on the Gryffindor portrait lady, which was a mistake. She began rambling on and on about getting a good nights rest. I sighed and soon smiled when Fred opened the door wearing a black suit and tie. I gasped at him.

"Fred why are you dressed up?"

"Just a little something for your date," he said.

"What date? Where's the trio?" I asked, looking around confusedly.

"They won't be coming. Go sit down next to George. He's the one in the black suit," Fred urged while pushing me over to a table where George sat with an array of food and the firelight glowing orange in his face.

"Whats happening?" I whispered to George.

"I don't know, I thought Fred was actually setting up a surprise for you. He wouldn't tell me either," he whispered back, leaning in close.

I felt his breath on my skin and it sent shivers down my spine.

"We must eat with all this delicious food just sitting here."

"Then let's eat it."

We joked, ate, and questioned why we were actually here in the first place. It was like a blind date.

"I can't!" George blurted out.

"Can't what? I asked, concerned.

"I can't hide it anymore."

"Elaborate George," I encouraged, setting down my fork.

"I like you."
