《Invisible {s.m}》Chapter 16

"You play the guitar"
He jumped and looked at me
"Wait, you can hear it?!"
He said quite surprised actually and I wonder why, it's just a guitar.
"Yeah dickhead I'm not deaf"
He rolled his eyes and sighed because he was annoyed, I kind of like making him annoyed, it's cute and funny. Wait. Cute? Yeah it's cute.
"I know but this isn't a guitar humans can hear" he trailed off but continued as he held his guitar with one hand. "I wo-how are you hearing this?" I could see his body clearly, it was like an actual human, to be honest if I would have seen him in the streets I would've thought he was human.
"I uh, wait here" he stuttered and disappeared, I knew he was actually gone away from the house, the feeling wasn't the same. Not mentally for me, I mean the air actually felt different.
I waited for hours, until I got fed up and decided to go back to my room and actually get a good night sleep.
"Shawn"
"Shawn don't leave"
"Shawn come back"
"I hate you"I mumbled, it was a complete lie. I felt empty without him to tease me or be annoyed by me. Everything felt different.
I walked back to my room and got in the sheets, I quickly fell asleep.
//SHAWNS POV//
I've never heard about this. There's this thing called Ghosts Inc, they know everything and I'm getting there so that I'll be able to make an appointment and ask how it's possible that she was able to hear my guitar.
"Hello, my name is Shawn, Shawn Mendes, I would like to make an appointment"
The lady looked up at me and nodded
"Year of death, and parents please"
"2015, Karen and Manny"
"What do you need an appointment for"

"I need to ask questions, something happened and I need answers"
"We happen to have an opening, would you like to have an appointment right now?"
I nodded
"That would be great, thank you ma'am"
She nodded and directed me to a room at the end of the hallway.
I thanked her and walked over to the door.
Anxiety was starting to build up but my curiosity was stronger. I was eager to know why Amanda Heart, Heart out of all people, could hear me play guitar. It's technically impossible.
"Hey Mr. Mendes, would you like to take a seat?"
He asked, but it was more like "sit in the chair", so I sat and looked at him. I couldn't wait for him to ask me what the issue was so I just blurted everything out.
"This girl, she moved in into the house I was killed in. She's lived there for two weeks, at first I was trying to scare her off but then I realized she wasn't so b-"
He sighed and looked at me with a "I don't care" look
"Get to the point would you"
I sighed and continued.
"I was mad so I went to the attic to play guitar, a ghost one. It was the object I picked" he nodded and waited for me to continue.
"Well she heard it"
His mouth opened and he couldn't talk
"Is it bad?? What's happening??"
He managed speak a few words.
"You..you guys have a bond" he continued seeing I was quite confused;
"It seems like you guys have created a bond, which means your meant to be together forever"

Many Minded
Synopsis: Issa Pyxis, Spacer orphan and illegal heretic, graduated from living on the streets to running with a gang years ago, but now it looks like that’s all going to change. Her inheritance, more specifically who—or what—she is, is catching up with her, and on a planet with the Emperor’s inquisitors slinking around in every shadow, nowhere is safe and no one can be trusted. What will she do? A cyberpunk story about identity, loneliness, covert infiltration, evil dystopias, and much more! Features: - Cyborgs and cyberpunk galore - This is indented to be somewhat “rational” and “hard” Sci-Fi story - Original Fiction however parts of my worldbuilding are inspired by other Sci-Fi stories (duh) Rationale: The future is cool, AIs are kickass, and questions about consciousness are simultaneously existential and yet unanswered. To me, this story is a vehicle for exploring these topics, and also, I wanted to write a story where the protagonist was unafraid of themselves and where their self is more like a git-repo than a meat computer. Disclaimer: This story primarily takes place in what we’d describe as a “cyberpunk dystopia” with some extra technocracy, autocracy, and religious fervor thrown into the mix, so there will be some “grittiness” in this story. Caveat emptor. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character and other characters in my story can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way they view the world isn’t always objective truth (if such a thing even exists) nor do their views and opinions necessarily reflect the views of me, the author. With it, reality literally bends to accommodate his pace on the journey to become the Hero of Fate. "So you're saying that until I cross certain points or 'flags' calamity won't strike?" "In other words, unless I make my 'predestined' move, the world will be safe, right? I could just train away for years peacefully until I'm more than strong enough for anything and wreck shit when I damn please?" "Heh, yeah. I 'totally' won't abuse this~" [Author here, Just a forewarning that I'm writing this synopsis and the story without a solid outline/plot/whatever-you-want-to-call-it. The dialogue, here in the synopsis, probably won't ever be directly spoken in the story; though, it might. I only just finished writing the first chapter, so, we'll see.]
