《BREAK A LEG | VKOOK ✓》SEVEN | DREADING HIM

Jeongguk's next encounter with Taehyung seemed to come around earlier than he had initially thought.
It was the start of another lecture for both Jeongguk and Jimin. As they were both settling down, Jimin glanced over at Jeongguk.
Jeongguk could feel his eyes on him and quickly turned around. "What's up?" Jimin pulled Jeongguk's hand towards him, sighing in relief after. "So you didn't take off the bandaids? Good." Jimin smirked, getting out his pencil case as Jeongguk scoffed.
"Be grateful that I didn't rip them off after you were gone."
"Oh, I am." Jimin giggled, eventually sitting back down. His gaze then travelled somewhere, to a certain individual where his face lit up. "Taehyung!"
Jeongguk froze.
He stared at Taehyung with wide eyes, wondering since when was he in his science lecture.
Jeongguk kept that same expression on his face whilst watching him walk over to them. He looked at Jimin to see his reaction and he was even more shocked. Jimin- was acting all buddy-buddy with Taehyung, caught up in a conversation with him, since when were they friends?
"Taehyung! Oh my gosh, sit over here!" Jimin exclaimed excitedly as he patted the seat beside him. Taehyung kept a cool smile on his face with a hand picking at his lip and sat down, not even sparing a glance towards Jeongguk.
"Yeah, hey." Taehyung greeted, his elbow on the table as he rested his head on his palm, with his other hand drumming his fingers along the table.
Jeongguk grew even more confused. First, Taehyung was in his lecture. Second, Jimin was practically best friends with Taehyung, why didn't he tell Jeongguk?
"J-Jimin..?" He mumbled, desperate to catch his friend's attention to have his questions answered.
Jimin didn't answer, he was too caught up in his conversation with Taehyung to even listen!
"Jimin!" Luckily, the second time round caught his attention.
"What is it, Gguk?" Jimin looked up at Jeongguk's direction, Taehyung too was facing him, an aggravated expression painting his face, now chewing on his pen lid.
"I- c-can we talk for a quick minute?" Jeongguk nervously laughed, pulling Jimin's arm.
"Sure?"
Jimin turned over to Jeongguk, shuffling a bit closer towards him as he was inbetween the boy and Taehyung. "What's wrong?"
"Um- first of all- since when was Taehyung in our lecture?" Jeongguk whisper-shouted, pointing towards Taehyung with his eyes.
Jimin glimpsed at Taehyung, giving Jeongguk a questioning look. "Jeongguk what are you talking about?"
Jeongguk blinked. "What do you mean by- what am I talking about?" He frowned.
"Gguk." Jimin started. "Taehyung has attended the majority of our lectures since the start of the year. Maybe if you paid attention-"
"What?"
"He usually sat away from us so that's why you probably didn't notice him." Jimin sighed, resting his hand by his side.
Jeongguk peeked at Taehyung before looking back at Jimin. "Then why-"
"Jeon. I know you're talking about me, try to act a little discrete next time. Hm?" Taehyung scoffed, rubbing his forehead.
Jeongguk was startled by Taehyung's sudden confrontation but didn't try to deny his claims. He merely scoffed and turned away from the boy, Jimin sheepishly smiled at Taehyung before turning back around to him, writing the notes for their class while whispering to Taehyung.
The rest of the lecture went in slow-motion for Jeongguk, the teacher's words sounded like gibberish, as well as his messy notes. What's worse is that he kept on exchanging glances with Namjoon who wasn't too far away from him. Oh God.

Jeongguk looked at his hands, they were still covered in ladybug bandaids but at this point, who cared anymore? Twirling his pen, Jeongguk once again felt a gaze on him.
He whipped his head around, he saw Taehyung looking at his bandaids and growled. Taehyung noticed and quickly turned his head back to writing down his notes while biting the nail on his thumb, acting as if nothing had happened.
Jeongguk cocked a brow and decided to say something. "Why were you looking at me?"
Taehyung looked at Jeongguk through his hair, placing his pen on his lips and his hand back down on the table.
"I wasn't."
"You were."
"The world doesn't revolve around you, Jeon. Get your head out of the gutter." Taehyung retorted, putting his pen down.
"I'm not saying it does. What I am saying is that you were definitely looking at me." Jeongguk clapped back.
Jeongguk didn't know if he should bring up the incident where Taehyung literally broke his hand. How would he though? Taehyung was acting like he wouldn't even hurt a fly.
Jimin cleared his throat, grabbing the boys' attention. "Um- Jeongguk? I'm pretty sure Taehyung wasn't staring at you."
Jeongguk's jaw dropped. "Why are you taking his side?!" He whisper-snapped
Sighing, Jimin leaned forward on the table so he could talk to Jeongguk directly. "Listen, Gguk. I get that you're still upset about Namjoon and everything but you shouldn't jump to conclusions."
Jeongguk couldn't believe what was coming out of Jimin's mouth right now. He heard Taehyung snicker which made him even angrier.
"Well, I know for a fact that you were definitely staring at me!" Jeongguk cried, trying to keep his voice low for the lecture as he pointed a finger towards Taehyung.
"I wasn't staring at you for fuck's sake!" Taehyung growled with darkened eyes making Jeongguk flinch.
Taehyung breathed out heavily, Jeongguk looked frightened for a split second but morphed his face into another snarl.
"Sure."
The rest of the lecture was very awkward, to say the least. Jimin wouldn't even talk to Jeongguk and Jeongguk didn't make an effort either. He was beginning to question his accusation. Maybe he was just imagining it?
Jeongguk stretched leisurely, letting out a small groan as he did so. He had managed to get some decent notes down as he didn't have a distraction because he was too pissed to talk to Jimin since he didn't even take his side! What a great friend.
The end of the lecture rolled around soon enough to which Jeongguk was very thankful for. Jimin had already left the hall, laughing along with his new 'best friend', abandoning Jeongguk basically.
Jeongguk sighed to himself, grabbing his bag and trotted down the stairs, about to leave but was stopped by a hand on his shoulder. Turning around, Jeongguk's face paled. It was Namjoon.
Jeongguk backed away a little, gulping. Without having Jimin to defend him, Jeongguk was on his own. He had to face Namjoon by himself.
Jeongguk slowly breathed out. "What do you want?" He spat, making sure to seem annoyed.
Namjoon stilled and tried to place a hand on Jeongguk's cheek. "J-Jeongguk, baby. I just wanted to say-"
"Don't call me baby. Make it quick. What do you want?" Jeongguk snarled, swatting Namjoon's hand away and crossing his arms.
"At the party- I didn't mean to cheat. Honest! I was drunk and-"
Jeongguk laughed bitterly. "You seemed to be very aware that what you were doing was wrong. Don't give me that 'drunk' excuse. You chased after me and tried to give me your shitty reasoning."

Namjoon paused and bit his lip, "B-but-"
"I don't want to hear another shitty excuse. Just- just leave me alone." Jeongguk huffed, watching Namjoon as he hung his head low.
Jeongguk adjusted his bag on his shoulder, planning to walk away and not look back but he couldn't. He looked back, seeing Namjoon's hopeless expression. Jeongguk swallowed and began walking, wiping a couple of tears away from his big doe eyes.
Jeongguk knows that deep down inside, he still cares for Namjoon and won't be able to forget him but Jeongguk knows better. Taking Namjoon back would be a stupid decision and he doesn't want to be the fool.
For now, it'll take time.
Theatre was exactly the same as yesterday's lecture- Taehyung acted like nothing ever happened yesterday and it was pissing Jeongguk off but he didn't want to say anything in case a repeat of what happened earlier was to occur.
Mr. Han had just finished explaining posture this lesson, again something Jeongguk never cared about since theatre was never his thing while Jeongguk didn't bother writing any decent notes.
It was soon the end of the class and Jeongguk had already gotten up, a frustrated expression on his face.
"Ugh! I can't take this anymore!" Jeongguk groaned in frustration, hiding his face in his hands.
Jin chuckled, walking up to Jeongguk. "Well, I heard there are a few spaces left in sport. They're doing volleyball."
Jeongguk nervously giggled, remembering all the painful times he's been smacked in the face with a ball. "Theatre sounds great actually!"
Chuckling at his reaction, Jin pointed to Jeongguk's hand. "Nice bandaids."
Jeongguk looked down and smiled. "Yeah- thanks I guess? These bandaids were not my decision I swear!"
"They look cute." Jin smiled.
"Oh! By the way, do you want to hang out in my dorm sometime? We can talk and stuff!" Jeongguk grinned, balancing on the balls of his feet.
Jin raised a brow. "Um- you're not my type, sorry."
Jeongguk's face was blank, he blinked a couple of times. "What? No! Not like that- I mean genuinely hanging out. We can go to the new bakery instead if you like?"
Taehyung barged in the conversation, a cocky smirk on his face. "Sorry to interrupt but- Jin? Didn't you say you were going to go to that party with me tonight? The one Jackson's holding?"
Jin looked at Taehyung, then back at Jeongguk. "Why's it Jackson who's always throwing parties?" He mumbled under his breath.
Jeongguk linked an arm around Jin's, pulling him close. "But wouldn't it be great if we went to the bakery? Their pastries are to die for!"
Taehyung grabbed Jin's arm in retaliation, tugging on it. "Yeah- but parties are way more fun. Not for dickweases like you."
"The fuck did you call me?" Jeongguk exclaimed, gripping Jin's arm tighter.
Taehyung chuckled, amused by Jeongguk's reaction. "I called you a dickwease. Problem?" He pulled Jin back.
"Yes, it's a fucking problem! You're calling me a dickwease? W-well you're a fuckface!" Jeongguk remarked, glaring daggers into Taehyung.
"Only fuckfaces would want to go to a stupid bakery!"
"Stop calling everything stupid! It isn't!" Jeongguk fought.
"Party!"
"Bakery!"
"Party!"
"Bakery!"
Poor Jin was being tossed around by the two arguing boys, he swore he could get motion-sickness from this.
Taehyung suddenly grabbed Jin by the shoulders and brought him closer. "What's your problem, Jeon! Jin obviously wants to go to the party, quit bugging him!"
"I'm the one who's bugging him?" Jeongguk grabbed Jin's wrist and pulled him towards his side. "You are actually! He'd rather go to a bakery!"
Taehyung yanked Jin over. "Yeah? Well-"
"Stop!" Jin cried, putting his hands over his ears. "You guys are fighting like children! I already have plans, somebody asked me out and I need to get ready for that."
Jin sighed, looking at the two. "Now- if you'll excuse me." He sashayed away, leaving both dumbfounded.
Taehyung glanced over at Jeongguk, snarling. "Even if he wasn't busy, he wouldn't want to go to a stupid bakery with you."
Jeongguk didn't know how to reply so he merely flipped him off, stomping out of the classroom with his nostrils flaring.
Jeongguk was playing candy crush in his dorm. Buried in his blankets, the only light in his room was being provided by the dim light emitting from his phone.
Once all his classes had finished, Jeongguk decided to isolate himself from the world and hid in his dorm. Not wanting to talk to Jimin.
Whilst he was mindlessly tapping on his phone, Jeongguk heard a knock on his door. Groaning, he got up. "I swear to god if that's Jimin I'll-"
To his surprise, when Jeongguk opened the door, Hoseok was there instead, a grin on his face.
"Hoseok? What's up?" Jeongguk asked whilst rubbing his eyes.
Hoseok stood with his hands behind his back. "Well, Jimin, over here-" he moved slightly to reveal Jimin hiding behind him. "-wanted me to knock for him since he thought you were pissed at him or something?"
Well, he wasn't wrong. Jeongguk was pissed at Jimin for siding with Taehyung earlier so why did he have to bring Hoseok into this?
Jeongguk peeked at Jimin then looked back at Hoseok and scoffed. "What did he want?"
Hoseok moved to the side, revealing Jimin as a whole. "Well?" He asked, crossing his arms. "What did you want?"
Jimin gave a small smile. "I- well- Do you want to go to that K-BBQ place downtown?"
Jeongguk raised a brow at Jimin.
"Not just me! Hoseok's also joining us!"
Jeongguk raised his brow even higher.
"I'll pay!"
In reality, Jeongguk really just wanted to say 'nope' and slam the door in his face but he didn't want to seem like a jerk, so grudgingly-
"Fine." He sighed. "I'll go."
Jimin smiled widely, hugging Jeongguk tightly. Jeongguk lightly pulled away, pursing his lips, creating an awkward silence
"Um-" Hoseok broke the silence. "Let's go eat, shall we?"
Let's just say, there was a lot of awkward tension between the two. It was so thick you could cut it with a knife. Jimin, on one hand, was stuffing his face full of food, Hoseok looking at him with concern. Whilst Jeongguk, he was barely eating a thing, merely sipping on his drink.
They were sitting in a booth, Jeongguk on one side and Jimin and Hoseok on another. None of them talked, Hoseok was awkwardly in the middle of all this tension, he didn't know what to say.
"This is the only other time where I'm stuffed to the brim." Jimin laughed finally, patting his stomach. Jeongguk choked- having a coughing fit all over the table.
"Jimin! For fuck's sake have some decency!" Hoseok cried, chewing on the meat. "You're one to talk." Jimin retaliated.
However, Jimin's lewd comment wasn't why Jeongguk had a coughing fit. Jeongguk was coughing because he had spotted Taehyung in the flesh with a couple of friends. Oh great.
"Wait- Is that Taehyung?" Jimin perked up and then raised a hand. "Tae! Over here!" He frantically waved.
Jeongguk panicked. "Jimin! What are you doing?!" Jimin looked at him cluelessly. "I've been meaning to ask you, do you and Taehyung not get along? I mean in that lecture-"
But before Jimin could continue, it was too late. Taehyung had arrived. "Taehyung! Hey, I didn't think you'd be here?"
Taehyung smiled. "Well. You learn something new every day."
As they were in conversation, Jeongguk kept making eye-contact with Taehyung every minute or so. He turned away, cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
Hoseok turned to Jeongguk. "Are you okay?" He mouthed.
Jeongguk nodded and smiled. "I need to go to the bathroom- excuse me." He shuffled out of his seat, sharing one last glance at Taehyung and rolled his eyes when he gave him a look.
Staggering to the bathroom, Jeongguk sighed to himself, turning on the faucet. Looking at his reflection on the mirror, Jeongguk splashed water on his face.
"Why did I agree to this again?" He mumbled, sighing again in disbelief.
Jeongguk turned off the faucet, using a napkin to wipe the water off his face. He quickly threw the napkin in the bin and about to go back to his friends but was startled by the door suddenly opening.
It was Taehyung.
"Huh-?" Jeongguk gasped in surprise, bumping into the sink as he stumbled back.
"Jeez. I'm not satan, y'know." Taehyung muttered, walking into the bathroom.
Jeongguk continued to look Taehyung with a questioning look for a solid minute before walking back to the door but again, he was stopped. Taehyung had grabbed his arm.
Whipping his head around, Jeongguk studied Taehyung's expression. What did he want? "Can I help you?" He spat, unsure of Taehyung's intentions.
Taehyung's hand gently travelled from Jeongguk's forearm to his hand, lightly tracing over his bandaids. He looked back up at Jeongguk with a blank expression, a hint of solemn masked within.
Swallowing, Jeongguk didn't know whether he should retract his hand back. Was Taehyung going to do something like that again?
Jeongguk felt Taehyung's breath grow ragged as his body started to tremble violently. Taehyung put a hand on his chest, clutching his shirt so tight that his nails were digging into his chest.
Taehyung continued to stay like that, he kept his head low, looking down at the ground as he battled himself to get his breathing under control.
The boy bit his lip, his mouth going dry. Jeongguk could hear his heart pounding and was wondering if Taehyung was alright.
"H-Hey. Are you okay-"
"S-sorry." Taehyung uttered, breathing out slowly.
Jeongguk's eyes grew wide. "What?"
"Your hands." Taehyung began, loosening his grip from his shirt. "Sorry for hurting them." He brought his head back up, looking at Jeongguk directly.
Jeongguk stood still. He didn't know how to react or respond so he didn't, staying quiet.
Taehyung let go of Jeongguk's hand, shoving his way past and going out through the door, muttering something incoherently.
Jeongguk watched Taehyung rush out and back to his friends. He leaned his back on the wall, hand on forehead. There were many questions Jeongguk had for what happened just now. The main one being-
What the hell was that all about?
