《BREAK A LEG | VKOOK ✓》FIVE | I'VE KNOWN ALL ALONG

After another gruelling day of school, Jeongguk slipped off his shoes and crashed onto his bed. Today was very exhausting and he wasn't in the mood.
His other lessons seemed to drag for the rest of the day, Jeongguk was just grateful that he had gotten them over and done with.
From making a new enemy to having to see Namjoon every day made Jeongguk think he probably murdered a bunch of puppies in his past life to deserve this hell.
Jeongguk lazily grabbed his phone out of his pocket, checking his social media it to see what was going on.
Scrolling through posts, liking them all. It all seemed like an endless loop to Jeongguk, he just wanted the day to end already. Jeongguk pulled the covers, nestling in his bed, this was his time to relax today.
After ten minutes or so, Jeongguk felt his eyes starting to droop, his mind flooding with thoughts. He let the day replay in his head and thought about all the chaos that erupted today.
Closing his eyes, Jeongguk could feel his consciousness ebbing away as sleep called his name. He let his exhaustion be in charge, and let himself drift off into a light sleep.
With plump lips against slightly chapped ones, they were pressed together in a lazy yet heated kiss. They moved against each other slowly as their hands intertwined. They pulled away, the only thing being heard was the sound of their breaths mingling.
There they laid, naked. Their heavy pants continued to fill the silent room as sweat dripped down their bodies. The bedsheets were a mess. Fluids splattered against their stomachs and both in a daze.
Jeongguk swallowed thickly, breathing out deeply after. He brought a hand up to his face and rubbed his eyes, looking up at the ceiling.
Namjoon had his head buried into the crook of Jeongguk's neck, lightly sucking on the flesh. Jeongguk stroked Namjoon's hair, letting his mind wander in different directions.
No words were exchanged between the two, just occasional glances and smiles for they were too caught up in their separate minds to utter a word.
Jeongguk was in the midst of twirling Namjoon's hair when he noticed a faded bruise along Namjoon's jaw, his eyes widened.
"Joonie." He called. No response.
"Namjoonie." Again. No response.
"Namjoon!"
Namjoon detached his lips from Jeongguk's neck and groaned, slowly raising his head. He looked up at Jeongguk with an annoyed expression. "What is it, Jeongguk?"
Jeongguk sighed, lightly grabbing Namjoon's jaw and pointed a finger at the mark. "What's this?" He asked, running his finger over it, making Namjoon flinch.
He stilled. Namjoon swatted Jeongguk's hands away and sat up quickly. He put his hand against the bruise and had a panicked sort of look on his face.
"I- Um- It's nothing." He stammered, not knowing what to say. Jeongguk propped himself up on the bed and used the sheets to cover his small frame.
"Well, it must be something because I've just seen it."
Namjoon took his hand away from the mark, resting them on his sides. "Did- Didn't you give me this hickey? J-just now?" The last part sounding more like a question than a statement.
Jeongguk eyed Namjoon suspiciously, as the hickey looked like it had been there for a couple of days and the last time they had sex was last month when it was Namjoon's birthday.
"No, I don't think I did, Joonie. You told me not to because you didn't like being marked." Jeongguk deadpanned, a bad feeling forming in his stomach.
"Oh- M-maybe you did it accidentally. You know how I always have to remind you all the time not give me hickeys." Namjoon nervously giggled, getting off the bed and picking up his clothes.
The feeling only got worse. Jeongguk remained in bed, not moving an inch and just sighed. "Yeah.. You're probably right. S-sorry about that then."
After Namjoon had put on his sweatpants he walked over to the bed and patted Jeongguk's head. "It's okay, baby. We all make mistakes. Come on, put your clothes on." He smiled, a hint of relief being evident in his voice.
Jeongguk watched Namjoon slip on a simple long-sleeved shirt as he still remained in bed. Maybe Namjoon was right. He's just being paranoid, isn't he?
But the feeling never went away. Jeongguk really didn't want to think that Namjoon could possibly be cheating on him. No, of course not. What was he thinking? Namjoon was very loyal to him and besides, he's smart enough not to cheat.
And for months, Jeongguk kept the same mindset, turning away his gut instinct and blindly believing Namjoon's excuses. During those months, his excuses became shittier and shittier but Jeongguk turned a blind eye, ignoring all the red flags.
For months, Jeongguk repressed his true feelings and thoughts when during those times, Namjoon got a bit angry and snapped at Jeongguk sometimes whenever he asked why was he smiling at his phone so much.
For months, Jeongguk spent all his energy putting effort into this relationship whereas Namjoon put none at all. Eventually, the two were drifting apart but Jeongguk was bound to make this work.
'-It wasn't until then when he looked up that Jeongguk wished he had just gone home immediately instead of waiting to go the toilet.
A horrified look was etched onto Namjoon's face, he wasn't wearing anything. The girl underneath him quickly grabbed the blanket to cover herself, she too was just as horrified.
Jeongguk felt all sorts of emotions, sadness, anger, hurt. He didn't know how to express them so he stayed quiet, a horrible feeling building up in his chest.
"I-It's not what you think-"
"Save it Namjoon." Jeongguk scoffed, calling Namjoon by his actual name, which he rarely did, he usually called him by his nicknames.
"I don't even know what I ever saw in you." Jeongguk spat, his lip trembling as his eyelashes brimmed heavy with the tears about to fall.
"Jeongguk-"
"We're done." Jeongguk announced.'
So when Jeongguk walked in on Namjoon cheating on him- he wasn't surprised. Not one bit. He actually expected it but that didn't make him feel any less hurt. Namjoon meant a lot to him and to see him with somebody else made his heartache.
There were so many things he wanted to tell him at that moment- How he felt. How much he cried over this relationship. Did he actually mean something?
However, the first thing Jeongguk thought at that moment stuck with him.
'I've known all along that you were cheating on me, Namjoon.'
'I just didn't want to believe it.'
Jeongguk shot his eyes open, waking up in a cold sweat. He glanced around the room and realised he was still in his dorm.
Throwing off the covers, he walked up to the window and realised it was dark out. How long did he even sleep for?
A harsh knocking on the door broke Jeongguk out of his thoughts. He stumbled and turned the knob, opening the door.
Jimin was revealed, his face in an angry pout. Jeongguk frowned, tilting his head.

"Jimin? What's up-"
"How dare you not tell me immediately after your classes finished about how you found theatre!" Jimin cried, inviting himself into Jeongguk's room and switching on the lights.
"Jesus, are you a vampire? Why's your room so dark?" He sat on the bed, looking up at Jeongguk.
"I- I took a nap," Jeongguk mumbled, looking away.
"A nap? Wow. Theatre must've been really tiring." Jimin joked. Jeongguk sighed and sat on the bed next to him.
"So," Jimin grinned, crossing his legs on the bed and facing Jeongguk. "How was the class?"
Jeongguk had to stop himself from rolling his eyes at the mention of that shitty subject. "It- It was pretty shit. Can't believe I have to do this again soon."
Jimin raised a brow. "Hey, what's up with you?"
"What do you mean?"
"You're acting.. weird." Jimin trailed, scratching his head. "You're not acting like yourself."
Jeongguk gulped, not wanting to tell Jimin about the dream he just had. "It's nothing. Honest. Just got a lot on my mind, I guess." Jeongguk said, looking down and dangling his legs off his bed.
"Whatever you say," Jimin said, not believing his friend for a bit for what seemed like the hundredth time.
"Hey, why don't we go to my dorm and watch a movie to celebrate?" Jimin suggested and Jeongguk scoffed. "Celebrate what? My suffering?"
"What, no. We're celebrating me, the striving gay art student because my piece was used as an example today in class to show I'm better than all these bitches." Jimin giggled, getting up from the bed, however, Jeongguk's expression was blank.
Jimin sighed. "And I'll get you banana milk."
Jeongguk perked up. "Okay!"
They headed to Jimin's dorm whilst Jimin, he was babbling about something random like how ninety percent of giraffes are gay- something like that.
Jimin slowly opened the door to his dorm and peeked his head into the room to make sure Hoseok didn't sneak a girl again into the dorms. Once the coast was clear he fully opened the door, letting Jeongguk in.
Jimin crouched down to the bookshelf, running his hands along all the DVD cases.
"So, what movie do you want to watch? Any genres in mind?"
Jeongguk stood and thought for a minute. "I want to watch Mean Girls."
"Jeongguk, we've watched that movie about a million times-"
"I said, I want to watch Mean Girls." Jeongguk glared, making Jimin shudder.
"Jeez, okay Regina George. I'm sorry." Jimin got up, gathering some pillows and putting them on the floor.
"Better be." Jeongguk scoffed, trying to keep an unfriendly look on his face but failed, breaking out into a giggle.
Jimin got the CD out of the case, slipping it in the DVD player and sitting down on the fluffy pillow. "Now, shut up. The movie's starting."
Jeongguk went to sit down on the pillow but noticed how plain it was, it didn't even have a cover for God's sake.
"Hey! Why do I get the shitty pillow and you get the fluffy one."
Jimin opened a bag of snacks and put one in his mouth. "That's Hoseok's pillow and this-" Jimin slightly lifted his pillow up to show Jeongguk. "-is mine."
"No fair." Jeongguk mumbled.
For the first half an hour, the two laughed together whilst watching the movie. Watching Cady, Janis and Damien plot Regina George's demise was beyond hilarious.
"You know- Out of all of the Mean Girls characters, Damien is the one I relate to the most." Jeongguk commented, sipping his banana milk.
"She doesn't even go here!" Jimin quoted, the two giggling again.
They continued to watch the movie, laughing at the movie's funny jokes and quoting each character whenever they popped up on the screen.
A phone buzzed. Jimin reached into the pockets of his jeans and got out his phone, checking his notifications, sighing when he did so.
"Gguk, I-I gotta go-"
"Why?" Jeongguk looked away from the movie, unwrapping his hands from his knees and sitting cross-legged.
"It's this thing-"
"Is it though? Jimin, you've been leaving me all the time to go somewhere without telling me where or why you're going!" Jeongguk cried.
He was right. For the past month, Jimin has been unexpectedly leaving to 'attend to something' without giving Jeongguk a proper explanation and he was getting sick of it.
"It doesn't matter, Gguk." Jimin was about to get up when a hand was placed on his arm.
"Yes it does, Jimin! You're making me think you don't want to hang out with me and that's why you keep disappearing off to this 'thing'. What's going on?" Jeongguk's grip tightened.
Jimin sighed, brushing his peach-coloured hair to the side with his other hand. "Jeongguk, please let go of my arm."
Jeongguk didn't budge his arm, looking up at Jimin with his pretty doe eyes. "Did I do anything wrong?" He let out, his voice soft.
Jimin brushed Jeongguk's hand off his arm and shook his head. "No. You didn't. I have to go, you can keep watching the movie though and eat the snacks, see you later." He threw his pillow on the bed, brushing himself off.
Walking to the door, Jimin left Jeongguk to watch the movie alone. Jeongguk grabbed Jimin's pillow, sitting on it instead of Hoseok's, throwing his across the room.
"What's up with him." Jeongguk grumbled, resting his head against his palm. He tried to watch the movie in peace, keeping his mind off everything else and enjoying himself.
Suddenly, a door opened, Jimin's roommate, Hoseok, standing in the doorway. "Hey Jimin- Oh, you're his friend aren't you?"
Jeongguk nodded. "Yeah, guess so."
"Where's Jimin?"
"That's what I wanna know." Jeongguk huffed, crossing his arms.
Hoseok frowned. "So, he's not here right now?"
"Nope, I'll go if you want me to, this is your dorm anyway." Jeongguk sighed, preparing to get up.
"Nah- don't worry about it. You can stay. Just wanted to ask him if he could go out somewhere tomorrow because I'm getting some ass!" Hoseok chuckled, putting his bag on the clothing hanger.
Jeongguk grimaced but nodded. "Good to know.."
Hoseok sat down on the floor, next to Jeongguk, grabbing a handful of snacks that were laying on the floor.
"So, Jeoncock-"
"Jeongguk." He corrected, giving Hoseok a weird look.
"Shit. Your name's actually Jeongguk? Everyone's been saying your name was Jeoncock, what the fuck." Hoseok looked at Jeongguk with a puzzled expression.
Jeongguk just hid his face in his hands groaning quietly.
"So, Jeongguk." He started. "What was wrong earlier today? You seemed really pissed when you saw me with that girl- Fuck. Was that your girlfriend?" Hoseok looked at Jeongguk with wide eyes.
"What?" Jeongguk laughed. "I'm not even into girls. I'm gay."
Hoseok gasped. "Oh, really? Phew, that's a relief! But anyway- what was up?"
Jeongguk sighed, deciding it's best if he explained himself. "You just reminded me of my cheating ex. S'Not like he mattered."
Hoseok's face fell. "Oh crap. Dude, I'm so sorry- Wait was he the dude you were always hanging out with? What was his name? Namsoon- No, Namjin- Nam- Namjoon! That's his name!"
Jeongguk fake vomited at the mention of his name, Hoseok laughing at his antics.
"Disgusting. Never mention him again." Jeongguk pleaded, popping a piece of chocolate in his mouth.
"Duly noted- Oh my god, is that Mean Girls?" Hoseok pointed to the TV.
"Yeah?"
"I fucking love that movie! Who's your favourite character!"
Jeongguk squealed. "Oh my god, I think I've just found my new best friend, just don't tell Jimin." He jokingly put a finger to his lips.
The two were flowing in conversation, talking about their favourite movies to their family. For those hours, Jeongguk forgot about all his worries and issues and just enjoyed the moment. Not caring about anything else.
Hoseok was really funny, he talked about the crazy shit he's done and how he got his red hair. Jeongguk found out he was on the basketball team and played very often. He even talked about his worst and best experiences with one-night-stands and how life isn't fair. Jeongguk couldn't agree more.
Once the clock struck midnight, the two were so deep in conversation that they were on the topic of crazy thoughts and theories.
"Yo, Jeongguk. What if oxygen is poisonous and it takes about eighty years to kill us?" Hoseok spoke, sitting on the floor.
"Please, Hobi- not again-"
"What if. Mirrors are actually portals to another dimension but our reflection keeps getting in the way."
Jeongguk slammed his fist on the bed he was lying on. "What if you're the reflection?"
Hoseok put a hand over his mouth. "Holy shit, you have a point."
They laughed again, continuing their conversation and just genuinely having a good time. Sometimes having full-on debates about things, resulting in Hoseok having to Google the answers and cry in defeat when he was proven wrong.
Jimin burst into the room, startling Jeongguk which resulted in him toppling over to the floor, Hoseok laughing at him.
"I heard a lot of noise- what the fuck happened here?" Jimin cried, putting a hand to his forehead in disbelief.
Jeongguk got off the floor, running to Jimin and grabbing his arms at the sides. "Jimin, I'm still mad at you but- please convince Hoseok that it's pronounced maca-RON!"
Hoseok stood up, holding a bag of Doritos. "It's fucking pronounced maca-ROON!" He snapped with his mouth full, bits of food flying out.
"-Oh my god, Hoseok. I'm about to rip my hair out if you continue this." Jeongguk frowned, tugging at his brown strands.
Jimin stood there with his mouth open then viciously shook his head. "Nope- Jeongguk, we are not starting this debate again." He mumbled, walking past Jeongguk and picking up his pillow that was covered in Doritos and other snacks.
"Hey! What happened to my pillow-"
"It's fucking pronounced mis-chee-vee-ous!" Hoseok shouted from behind, stomping his feet.
"No, it isn't! You fucking dumbass!" Jeongguk cried, turning back to Hoseok.
Jimin dropped his pillow, looking at Hoseok with shock mixed with disgust.
"Oh hell no!"
After multiple rounds of debates and arguments, the trio was so exhausted they fell asleep on the floor. Jimin was asleep whilst sitting up, leaning against the bed with Jeongguk resting his head on his lap and Hoseok right next to him, an episode of RuPaul's Drag Race playing loudly in the background.

Please note: the Sexual Content tag is there due to a single brief plot-relevant scene, which has a warning at the beginning. For other details, read the full description below. Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 5 x 5*, 2 x 4.5*, 1 x 0.5* During a blackout, a frail and ragged old woman stops to ask for a glass of water from a backyard barbecue party. Given a good supper instead, she looks around the group, and tells them, "Be who and what you truly are." Days later, seven of the people from the barbecue find themselves drawn into a trap laid by a pair of wizards and their accomplices, who kidnap them into a bubble reality. All seven, who have known each other all their lives, are informed that they are not in fact entirely human: they have active fae blood, due to a series of conditions culminating with the blessing of the elderly fae woman. The transformation into fae form comes as a shock: all seven, whether originally female or male, find themselves now unreasonably beautiful women. More urgent even than that, though, is their captivity. Getting back to the real world is a higher priority than this metamorphosis that rapidly begins to feel natural... but this is only the first step, as the diverse types of fae blood they carry begin to surface. With no resources except themselves, how can they escape this prison? If they succeed, how can they possibly reclaim their lives? Just how many other faelings have been kidnapped, anyway, and what happened to them? And is there a way to make sure that their captors never put anyone else through this? Back in the real world, Kayla, who learned long ago to trust her gut instincts, is absolutely certain that something is very wrong. The pattern in the list of missing friends is easy to spot, but makes no sense at all. Then a young woman turns up at the backyard gate who knows more than she should, and even though her explanation makes even less sense, every instinct tells Kayla that Riley is her only way to get them back. If they're not quite what they were, well, that's a bridge to cross later... Just a little note: I'm a big believer in endings that are upbeat but not candy-coated, and not a fan of grim-and-gritty or of glamorized violence. These are adults in a difficult situation. However, no one gets raped, and the physical violence is, all things considered, fairly minimal. There is some harassment, sexual and otherwise, and also some mild restraint and mild verbal abuse. Complicating factors are generally wizardly or fae in nature. If I need to warn you about gender in this being all over the map, some of it reality-based rather than fantasy-based, highly diverse sexuality, or that there is (especially later) some indirect fetish/BDSM imagery and honest character discussion, then you probably should just avoid everything I write. :-) Also available on Scribble Hub.
