Spandam continued to drag Robin and Kai with him up the stairs. Luffy had now caught up with them and was now battling against Lucci. He had confidence in the agent, but that didn't stop him from freaking out. He pulled out his transponder snail and called out to them, trying to figure what the hell was going on.

Spandam: Hey CP9, this is your chief, what the hell is going on? One of the strawhats is on my tail, what is taking so long for you guys to take a bunch of pirates out?

That was when Robin realized something horrifying, the snail Spandam was holding was golden. There is one thing golden snails are used for, activating a buster call.

Robin: Wait, you didn't press that button did you?

That was when Spandam realized his mistake, but it was already too late. The signal had already been sent out, navy headquarters had received the call and was now scrambling ten battleships on their way to the island. Through his other transponder snail, Kalifa called in.

Kalifa: What is it chief?

Spandam: Oh now you pick up, although it doesn't matter anymore. It is already too late, there's now going back now. I'VE TRIGGERED THE BUSTER CALL!

Unknown to Spandam, everyone all over the island could hear what he was saying. The navy soldiers were just as horrified to hear that a buster call was being sent to their island. Kai was just as scared. as he heard what has happened to his mom's home island.

Robin: You have to cancel it right away! Don't you realize what you've done? EVERYONE IS GOING TO DIE!

Spandam: Cancel it, who do you think you are? I simply called upon a buster call to make sure your transfer goes smoothly. So what is things get a little messy, anything to make sure those pirates get eliminated.

Robin: You fool, it won't just end there! The buster call will burn everything down; the people, the buildings, even the island itself! That is the power you have evoked! If you had seen what had happened in Ohara, you would not be doing this!

Spandam: So what if there are sacrifices, that's just how important this mission is. Since Cutty Flam burned the blueprints, you are the last hope of reviving the ancient weapons. For a weapon that can turn this era upside down, I'm willing to sacrifice thousands of soldiers. I know the consequences, I just don't care. The future is at stake here,

Unknown to Spandam, all of the soldiers across the island could hear their conversation. They all were shocked to hear that they would be killed without a second doubt.

Spandam: CP9 can kill anyone if it's in the name of justice. For true justice, you have to be ruthless at times. Besides if those soldiers couldn't even stop a few pirates don't deserve to live.

Robin: A think you're still connected.

Spandam then realized everyone heard what he had said.

Spandam: ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME, EVERYONE HEARD THAT! DAMMIT THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!

He then hit Robin, causing her to fall down the stairs. This angered Kai.

Kai: You bully!

He bit hard onto Spandam's ankle, causing the man to scream. Spandam began flailing around until he managed to get Kai off, who smacked against the wall.

Spandam: You little...

Robin charged at Spandam and knocked him down.

Robin: KAI RUN!

Kai took off running down the stairs, Spandam threw Robin off of him and took out Funkfreed, who was now in his hybrid form. The elephant sword lunged at Kai, Robin quickly got up and jumped in front of Kai. The zoan slammed into the tow, with Robin taking most of the blow. The smacked hard against a wall, causing it to crack. They fell onto the ground, unmoving. Spandam approached the two and kicked Robin further down the stairs.

Spandam: What kind of pathetic excuse of an escape attempt was that? You thought you could have out run me while in shackles. Even if you could get away from me, there is no way you would escape from Lucci.

He then picked Robin up by her collar and glared right at her, which angered Kai.

Kai: Leave her alone...

Spandam glared right back at the kid.

Spandam: That brat is definitely you son, has the same defiant nature as you.

Robin: You're a monster.

Spandam: Do you think I give a damn what you say? So you'll both be given over to the World Government and I'll get a nice big promotion. You're an idiot if you think your little friends will be able to save you. Any hope you have left will be crushed, so I don't give a damn what you say!

Spandam used Funkfreed again to grab onto Kai as he began dragging Robin by her hair.

The three walked in silence, which was occasionally broken by Spandam complaining. Soon they made it to the top where the gate appeared in view. Spandam laughed as he thought about how this would all soon be over.

Spandam: There it is, the bridge of hesitation! HAHAHAHAHA! Do you see it Nico Robin?

He pulled Robin u, allowing her to see the giant gates open up. Robin was horrified as Spandam continued to laugh.

Spandam: See how the gates are opening, it signals that your end is coming soon! I'll admit, this has been quite troublesome with some scary moments! But now here we are, once you and your bastard are pass those gates you're done for! The world will forever remember me as a hero! The bridge is rising, once it is up nothing can stop me! HAHAHAHAHA!

Spandam continued to laugh as Robin felt nothing but terror. She knew that if she didn't do anything, both she and her son would be gone for good. Despite how fierce CP9 was, she believed in her friends that they would prevail. They were fighting to save her, the best she could do is fight back. Without a second thought, she headbutted Spandam causing all three of them to fall onto the ground.

Spandam: Dammit woman that hurt!

Robin: Kai we have to run now!

Robin got up and started running but quickly fell back onto the ground. Kai was unable to run, as Spandam quickly grabbed the back of his collar and hoisted him up into the air. He walked over to Robin and started stepping on her.

Spandam: You stupid woman, was that the best you can do? Do you have any idea who I am, I AM THE HERO OF THE WORLD! THE WHOLE DAMN WORLD! I have a bright future, unlike you and your son! You two are nothing but trash meant to be scraped off the face of the world.

Kai: SHUT UP!

Kai's wings appeared as he started using them to attack Spandam. Spandam's vision was obscured by the feathers flying everywhere, giving Kai the chance to fly higher. Spandam saw this and reached for Funkfreed.

Spandam: Get back here you...

Before he could deploy Funkfreed, he was tackled onto the ground by Robin. He yanked her up by her hair and was about to punch her when Kai came dive bombing on top of him. All three fall back onto the ground. Before the Nico family could do anything, Spandam pulled out a transponder snail.

Spandam: Hey is everything ready?!

Soldier: Yes sir, we are ready for prisoner transportation.

Spandam: Good, send some soldiers out here! The prisoners are starting to become restless! AND PREPRAE A GROUP READY TO SALUTE ME, THE HERO CHIEF SPANDAM AS I HAND OVER THE PRISONERS!

Soldier: Er...yes sir right away.

With that the call ended.

Spandam: God dammit, this was supposed to have gone smoother. But thanks to you two this just keeps getting harder and harder.

Kai lunged at Spandam, but Spandam smacked him back onto the ground. He then proceeded to step on the child.

Spandam: You just don't know when to quite you little shi...

Robin knocked Spandam off Kai but received a hard back hand slap which knocked her towards the edge. Spandam approached her and saw that she was biting onto the edge. This angered him and he started to stomp on her head.

Spandam: You dumb bitch! Don't you understand that you're screwed? There is no chance that those damn pirates will make it here. Even if they do I can have this whole bridge explode, cutting them off from us. Any struggle at this point is just pointless.

By now Robin's face was covered in blood, despite the pain she felt she continued to bite down.

Robin(thought): I can't give up. If I do both me and Kai are done for. I have to keep holding on, just a little bit longer.

Unfortunately for her the backup Spandam requested for had finally arrived. With their help they pried her off and began dragging her to the gate.

Spandam: About time dammit, help me drag this woman across the damn gate now!

Soldier: Sir what about the child?

Spandam: It's a god damn child, just grab the brat!

As he said Kai came swooping down and slimmed into Spandam. Before he could fly back up several soldiers grabbed him, restraining him from flying any further. Spandam now took this chance to get Robin across the bridge. He dragged Robin behind him, who was to exhausted to go on any further.

Robin(thought): Kai I'm sorry, but I can't any further.

Kai saw this and continued to resist, however against several grown men he had no chance. He was forced to watch his mother being dragged away from him again, this time for good. The anger began to build up inside him.

Kai(thought): No, not again. I don't want to be separated again. Why does this keep happening, why won't they just leave us alone? I want my mom, I want my mom, I want my mom, I WANT MY MOM BACK!

A bright light was emitted from Kai, causing all of the marines to be knocked back. When Spandam looked behind him to see what happened, he got hit by something that sent him flying back. When Robin looked up, she saw what her son had become.

Robin: Kai, is that you?

The now transformed Kai landed on top of Robin and wrapped his wings around her, pulling her into a hug. She realized he was crying to. She pressed her forehead against his.

Robin: It's alright honey, I'm here now. I swear we'll be alright now.

Unknown to them Spandam got back up with a group of armed soldiers, ready to shoot them both.

Spandam: Alright men, take them down!

They opened fire; Robin quickly got in front of Kai ready to shield him. However someone else was took the blow. When they looked back, they saw Franky standing in front of them.

Franky: Shooting a mother and her son, you marines just continue to get lower and lower. Hey Nico Robin, I got a gift for you.

He held up a red bag, inside were all of the keys from CP9. Spandam's eyes bulged out from their sockets.

Spandam: HOW DID THEY GET THOSE KEYS!

Franky began trying each one of the keys to try and free Robin. Spandam was having none of that.

Spandam: QUICKLY, WHILE THEY ARE DISTRA...

Bolts of lightning hit each of the marines, electrocuting them and knocking them down. When Spandam turned back around he saw Kai flying in the air, lightning surrounding his body. Not only that but Franky and Robin were ready to fight to, as they had finally gotten the shackles off her. Spandam literally pissed himself, for all three of his prisoners were free and ready to rip him apart.
