Slamming the door shut with an annoyed sigh, I turned to Stu, who was stood behind me, grinning like a mad man. "So is it done?" I questioned as he pulled me into his arms,
"Yep, just got done with her. I think she got the message very clear," Stu snickered as I frowned at him.
"Well, what did she say? Is she mad?" I began to rapid-fire questions at him until he places his hand on the back of my head. "Did she look, murderous?".
"Don't worry, it's all sorted. Let's just enjoy the night while we can" Leaning down, he kissed me in front of everyone as they began to cheer and whoop.
Rolling my eyes, I couldn't fight the small blush making Stu grin, that stupid handsome boyish grin, but in my peripherals, I could see my sister stomping her way over to me as Stu lifted his hands in the air celebrating like he had just won a prize.
Sidney grabbed my arm roughly as Stu walked over to Garrett, who gave him a big pat on the back. Everyone here had seen what went down with me, Tatum, and Stu at Cheer practice, so it wasn't a shock to them as much as it obviously was to my twin.
"What?" I hissed, pulling my arm out of her grip as she stares at me, disappointed,
"What do you mean 'what?' how could you do that to Tatum?" rolling my eyes at her, I huffed, knowing this wouldn't end well with her being Tatum's best friend and all.
I shook my head with a huffed laugh, frustrated that my own sister thought so little of me, but then again, I am a product of my mother. "We're not cheating, Sid, technically, Stu just broke up with her," I admitted as Sidney's head shot up and glanced around for the blonde.
"You know she won't take this without a fight?" My twin warned, but I just shrugged at her knowing I wouldn't be the one losing.
"I'm down, I've beaten her before, and I'll do it again" Sidney narrowed her eyes at me, Tatum cried to her all night about the ugly bruises I left on her, and now my twin was holding a grudge.

"Why do you hate her so much?" Sid questions with a tired sigh, I never wanted her to get stuck between Tatum and me, but here we are.
Biting on my cheek, I crossed my arms, "I don't hate her, Sid. She fucked me over. I really don't want this to hurt her; but, I can't hurt myself to make her happy."
I began to feel that icky vulnerable feeling again, so I straightened myself out, "plus, I haven't seen her since, so I'm guessing she left."
Sidney looked around once more, huffing when she realized I was telling the truth and putting a hand on her head, looking very stressed.
"BOO!" Sid and I both jumped, turning to see Billy leaning against the door frame
"Oh, Billy, Hey!" Sid stuttered, sounding shocked and unsure of herself, but I'm not surprised she had him arrested for murder then ignored him when the police released him.
Stu walked up to us again, throwing his arm around me, kissing my head, smirking when he saw Billy. "Mmm... Billy. What are you doing here?"
Billy looked at us, a small smile playing on his lips. "I was hoping to talk to Sidney alone," I smiled, knowing Billy was going to try and make up with my sister.
Although she was my twin, I didn't really understand their relationship. Billy had asked my sister out randomly sometime last year just out of the blue, and they don't really act very coupley, but as long as they're happy, I guess.
"You know, why don't you guys go up to my parent's bedroom? So you guys can talk, whatever," Stu hinted, laughing to himself as Billy and Sid just blink at him.
"Eww, that's my sister," I grimaced, thinking about my sister's sex life when she nudged me with a frown.
"Hey!" I shrugged at her with a playful smile as she gave me the eyebrows of disappointment. Sidney acted more like my mother than my twin at times.
"It's still weird." Losing your virginity on the same night as your twin sister was a little bit of a strange coincidence.

Billy looked annoyed at Stu, who was still grinning like he was up to no good "Subtlety Stu, you should look it up," he told him bluntly as he sneaked a look at Sidney, who shook her head.
"No, it's okay, we need to talk," I looked at my sister, shocked. Was she really going to?.
Sidney grabbed Billy's hand and led them upstairs, with Billy hitting Stu in the stomach and affectionately rubbing my cheek on the way past. "Ooh! Ow!" Stu chuckled, rubbing his belly where Billy had hit him.
Randy jumped over to us, his eyes trained on Billy and Sid's retreating forms. "What's Leatherface doing here?" I glance at him, annoyed at his nickname for my best friend
"Cute, He came to make up," I answered, leaning back into Stu, who held me tight.
Randy sighed sadly, bowing his head. "There goes my chance with Sid. Damn it."
Stu and I both looked at Randy as if he'd sprouted another head. "As if, that's all I'm going to say, as if," Stu taunted Randy, who frowned at him.
"Oh yeah, well you got Kat? So why couldn't I get Sid?" Randy questioned, pouted like a five-year-old
"Well, I don't think Sid feels that way about you, Rand," I admitted gently, trying to spare my friends' feelings, knowing that my sister had never felt anything towards our geeky friend.
"Damn," He muttered, walking off to get another beer.
Stu placed his head in the crook of my neck, leaving small kisses. "What does man have to do around here to get his girlfriend to kiss him" he purred into my ear, making me shiver.
I wanted to mess with him before I gave in. "Who said I was your girlfriend?".
I felt myself being turned as Stu looked at me, shocked before he realized I was joking when I burst out laughing, his face quickly changing from horror to humor as he watched me almost split my sides.
"Oh girl, now you've done it, here comes the caveman," throwing me over his shoulder and smacking my ass, Stu laughed. "Ohh, you're a naughty one."
I squealed as he threw us both over the couch. "Damn it, Stu!".

Back outside, Gale is in the news van with Kenny, who was trying to get the monitor to work. "Come on!" he yells, tapping the screen, which buzzed before showing the Macher's lounge where all the teenagers have gathered drinking and watching films.
"You are a genius," he told Gale, who had a big smile on her face, but Kenny notices Gale still on the screen. "Oh shit!"
Gale jumps, startled at the loud shout. She had been a bit jumpy since all the killings, not that she would admit that to anyone. "What?" she huffed, annoyed at being scared.
Kenny turns to look at her with a grimace. "I got a delay."
Gale eyes the screen seeing herself leave the house. "How long is it?"
Kenny shrugs, looking back and forth between Gale and the footage. "I don't know. What did it take you to walk from the house? 30 seconds?" Gale nodded, irritated that it wasn't going as smoothly as she wanted.
"It'll be fine. Just record it. Oh, the placement is perfect" She clapped happily for herself before frowning at the screen when she saw Kat Prescott laughing with her friends, still a little bitter at being bested by and seventeen-year-old girl.
"Tell me, Kenneth?" Kenny, who was too busy eating his Mars bar, just hummed, "Has a cheesy tabloid journalist ever won the Pulitzer?" Gale smiled, seeing herself famous, all she had to do was find a good story, and by damn, she'll get one.
"First time for everything," Kenny told her impassively, obviously not as excited as she was
"You're god damn right," She told him confidently, watching the screen, knowing if the Prescott twins were here, a story wouldn't be far behind them.

Tales From the Terran Republic
We tried, you know… We really did. We tried so hard to be… better… We actually were better once. No, seriously. We were enlightened, generous, peaceful… Stop laughing! We were! We were peaceful, dammit! No, I’m not “tugging your winglets.” It’s true! Look, if you’re going to be like that, I’ll just push the launch button right now. See ya, don’t wanna be… Oh, you ARE interested after all? Ok. Hey, I just got word that your captain will be ok. We were able to get him into a med pod quick enough… Of course, we tried to save him. Just what sort of people do you think we are?... Now that was harsh… completely accurate, mind you… but harsh. Anyway, like I was saying, we were a prosperous, peaceful people, and war had been nothing but a distant memory for over five hundred years before it happened... Before Yellowstone happened! You don’t mean to tell me that you didn’t know about that… massive supervolcano? Blew the Hell out of our planet? Two years where nothing grew?… Anyway, that’s what started it, the Sol Wars… Oh, you have heard about those, huh? Well, needless to say, all that enlightened, generous, and peaceful didn’t exactly make it through the two years of complete famine and the wars that followed… Maybe it’s more accurate to say the enlightened, generous, and peaceful among us didn’t survive… (laughs)… You’re right. It does explain a lot, doesn’t it? Probably for the best, though. “Enlightened” and “peaceful” aren’t really all that useful out here in the galaxy at large, are they? That reminds me; thanks for the ship. You guys did a great job with this one. Oh, don’t be like that. At least it was us what got you and not one of the really messed groups like the Harlequin or the Black Angels. We’re just going to take your shit. It could be worse… trust me... Well, anyway, we loaded the life pods down with some good food, and you guys can drink alcohol, right? We put in a couple of fifths in there, too. It’s about forty percent ethanol, so be warned. Most species will want to dilute that. We’ll drop your wounded off somewhere safe once they are stable. Your fleet patrols this area fairly regularly, and we’ll drop the distress beacon right before we jump… Well, It’s been fun and no hard feelings, right?… Oh, you want to know some more? Sure. I got time to kill… Let me tell you about this one pirate and her crew. They’re Terran scum, but they are still… Why do we hate the Terrans? Hoo Boy… How much time you got? *** It’s the thirty-second century, and humanity is now part of a galactic civilization comprised of hundreds of worlds. Humanity has been savaged by natural disaster and war and has been fractured into several separate populations, all of which loathe each other (some things never change). This is a gritty drama-driven rambling tale that swings between action, drama, horror, and plenty of very, very dark comedy. Warning: contains adult situations, absolutely horrible language, bathroom humor, implied ultra-violence, actual ultra-violence, drugs, alcohol, pirates, mercs, xeno prostitutes, moral ambiguity, deranged AI's with identity issues, giant commie space slugs, and a poor little frog girl who just wants to sell coffee. Updates twice weekly on Tuesday and Friday. *** Note: This story can get rough. Those warning tags? They aren't for show. I recently received a review and as a result I want to make one thing clear. Portraying something is NOT endorsing it! Many "heavy" topics are touched upon and just because a character says or does something does not imply that the author feels the same way. I selected the "Anti-Hero Lead" and "Villainous Lead" tags for a reason. Rule number one of this story is "no good guys". A good description of the story is, "bad people doing bad things to worse people". There are a few good characters, here and there, but they are the exception to the rule. If you want a hard-hitting, exciting, gritty sci-fi story that doesn't pull any punches, or shies away from "difficult" concepts, welcome! If you are set on a pure and noble knight that runs around and slays conveniently evil monsters and rescues totally innocent princesses... or your sensibilities are easily offended... You're not going to be happy with this one.

Sometimes my voice dies in my throat, buries itself beneath waves of crippling suffocation, burns itself out as cold hands tear at my laced skin.
