With Aaron gone it'll feel different. Addison will be a wreck for at least a week and my dad and Daryl will be quieter. Me, I'll be trying to comfort Addison.
As we're all still standing here frozen, I look at dad with a death glare before we all start walking back towards the cabin where I no longer think of it as home because our full family isn't there.
When we got back I went straight up to my room, flopped on the bed and just started crying. Aaron was the one person who felt like another father to me. He would risk his life for me, care for me and protect me when no one else was there to. After a couple minutes dad comes in and sits on my bed. "I'm sorry 'bout Aaron." He says in a low, depressed voice. I say nothing as I shift away from him a little. "Addison what's wrong?" I look at him again. "Where were you when Alexandria went up in flames?" I snap. He just looks down. "Ya, that's what I thought." After that he just continues to sit there so I keep on talking. "The reason I survived for 2 months was because of Aaron. He risked his life for me when Negan came to attack and every moment on while you didn't even bother trying to find me." Dad looks at me with tears in his eyes. "Addison that's not what happened." "Then what did happen dad?" He doesn't say anything so I get up and go sit outside on the back porch.
After having a small bowl of soup for dinner I decided to go back out on the porch for a little longer. After a minute I hear someone open the door and then sit beside me. "Dad I really don't want to talk abo-" I stop talking when I realize it's Carl. "Sorry, I thought you were my dad." "That's ok." After that he looks up at the stars in the sky and I do the same. "Listen Addison, I think you need to talk things out with your dad." I just sigh. "Look, I know you don't want to but can you please do it?" He looks at me then back up at the sky. "For the group?" I sigh once more and then put my hand overtop of his. "Ok." After that we go inside and go to bed. Maybe our lives now are like stars in the sky, once more and more stars start going away all the other ones leave to. Although in our case, when more and more people die, we eventually die to because there's no point in living if every other person is gone.
