[ start of wolfs bane part one ]
he was going to the high school - something about Mr Harris and the police - Eleanor didn't expect to be sat in his camaro with Scott, Stiles and Jaden, taking part in a car chase with Kate Argent.
Clad in leggings and Scott's All Time Low tour jumper, the attire she had hoped to go to bed in, she leant toward Scott in the drivers seat, her annoyance seeping out of her mouth as she realised that Scott did not understand that point of a car chase.
"Faster?" Scott questioned, trying to glance through his windscreen mirror.
Eleanor nodded quickly, glancing behind her to face the glare of Kate's headlights. "Much faster."
Scott let his foot gain more leverage of the acceleration pedal as he sped up, however the small boost still put the four friends meters from the Argents car. Scott continued to nervously look through his windscreen mirror.
Stiles frowned nervously, leaning forward to nudge the werewolf as his eyes trained on the vehicle behind them. "Okay Scott i dont think you're really grasping the concept of a car chase."
Eleanor could feel Stiles' anxiety increasing, she could feel Scott's heart hammering in his chest and she could feel Jaden's annoyance for the woman at the wheel behind them. She could hardly focus on what she was feeling.
"If I go faster, I'll kill us." Scott noted, shrinking in his seat.
"If you don't go faster, they'll kill us!" Jaden exclaimed, his eyes rolling in disgust for the Argents.
Yet again, Scott pushed his foot onto the pedal, rounding a corner as the three friends stared at the back window in wonder, as there was no Kate Argent or her car on their tail. They were alone, and it was extremely worrying.
"They're gone." Stiles stated, although it almost came out as a question as he stared down at his father's radio, one he'd taken that very night.
Just as the four had suspected, there was a buzz and a crack from the radio before a familiar voice was speaking, he was an older deputy of Noah's, Jason. "All units, suspect is on foot, heading into the Iron Works."
Scott shared a brief look with Eleanor, whom nodded, as if to confirm their next location, and Scott smiled, taking a U turn across the road and toward the Iron Works, smiling to himself. "I've always wanted to try that."
All four shared a chuckle, one that ended quickly, replaced by tension and suspense as they sped through an alleyway, beside the Iron Works that Derek was supposedly running through. In a mere few seconds, Jaden pointed to a black silhouette running toward them, and Eleanor immediately threw herself into the back seat, landing in the middle. From the loud noise and constant rattling from the car, they could tell shots were being fired.
Derek yanked the door open, immediately shutting it. "Drive!"
Scott obliged instantly, leaving nothing in their wake for the police to track, and began driving the streets of Beacon Hills, nearly all their eyes trained on the eldest Hale. They awaited him to speak, but when it was evident that he wasn't going to, Eleanor rolled her eyes and spoke up.
"What part of 'laying low' don't you understand?"
Derek growled. "Dammit, I had him!"
"Who?" Stiles leant forward, against Eleanor as he eyed her brother. "The alpha?"
"Yes! I had him, he was right in front of me and then the police showed up!"

Stiles scoffed, brushing his comment aside. "Hey hey, they're just trying to do their jobs."
"Yeah, thanks to someone who made me the most wanted fugitive in the entire state." Eleanor had to bite back a giggle at the glare Scott and Stiles received from Derek, and the look of terror that they held as he did so.
"Hey," Scott defended, trying to focus on the road ahead of him, "When will we get past that? I made a dumbass mistake, I get it."
Stiles flailed his arms around, careful not to hit Jaden or Eleanor. "Alright, how did you find him?"
Derek spared a glance at the Aderall enthused boy and shook his head, turning away from him as Scott whined. "Can you at least trust us for a half a second?"
"Yeah, all of us." Stiles added, but shrunk back as Derek's threatening stare returned.
Eleanor frowned, leaning against Stiles slightly to get a good look at her brother, poking him slightly. "Hey, at least trust me and Jade!"
"Look, the last time I spoke to Laura, she was figuring something out." Derek started, his eyes softening as Eleanor noticeably slumped into Stiles at the sound of her sisters name. "She found two things, the first was the name Harris."
Stiles held onto his best friend tightly, a sign of comfort as he leant forward, his eyes locked with Derek. "Harris? As in our chemistry teacher?"
"Why him?"
"I don't know yet." Derek snapped, rolling his eyes at the new beta.
Jaden sighed, a hand resting upon his sisters knee. "And what's the second?"
"Some kind of symbol." Derek sighed, as if the information were useless, and showed his phone to the group, immediately sensing them tense. "What? You know what this is?"
Derek's eyes were trained on Scott, who was glaring at the steering wheel, obviously annoyed as Eleanor gulped, continuing to lean against Stiles as she looked up at him, and then at the rest of the group. "It's on Allison's necklace."
...
watched as Scott and Stiles pushed past the door and into the school building, trying to concentrate more on where she had last seen her Chemistry book than their plan. Her hands were fumbling into her locker, and her frustration seemed to get the better of her as the seconds passed. She had to make up for the test she missed when Scott had his panic attack, and it was tomorrow.
As Eleanor began to realise that there would be no hope in finding her book in her locker, or anywhere else for that matter, she smacked it shut, coming face to face with her best friends as she did so.
The both of them raised their eyebrows, and Eleanor sighed. Scott's eyes met Jaden, whom was stood down the corridor with Danny and a few other members of the lacrosse team, and he sent Eleanor a reassuring smile and a kiss on the temple before catching up with them. Leaving Stiles and Eleanor alone.
"He's gone to tell Jaden about the plan," Stiles justified, and Eleanor turned to look over her shoulder as, true to Stiles' word, Scott pulled Jaden away from the rest of the group.
"The plan?"
"Oh, right, Scott's going to try and get the necklace off Allison."
It was silent for a moment, and Stiles rose his hand to point at Eleanor's locker, that had previously been slammed in frustration."What was that about?"
Eleanor turned to look at her locker in annoyance. "I can't find my chemistry book, and I have my make up test tomorrow."

"Why didn't you just ask to borrow mine?"
"Because, you're taking the test too. I can't just take it from you." Eleanor stated, leaning against the lockers beside her.
Stiles rolled his eyes and hiked his backpack on his shoulder. "Then come and study at mine tonight."
Eleanor pondered the thought and shrugged her shoulders, agreeing to his offer as she slung her bag over her shoulder, turning on her heel to walk beside Stiles through the school hall, making their way towards Scott's locker. She looped her arm with his and tried not to think too much of it.
"So, how does Scott plan on getting this necklace from Allison?"
Stiles let out a dry laugh. "He kept making excuses about her not giving it to him, so I just told him to remind her of the good times y'know? Ease into it, just chat to her and see if anything comes of it."
Eleanor nodded, reminding herself that this may be the first plan the friends have had that could be successful. All others have failed, some more than others, but hopefully, if Scott goes about it the right way, then it could go swimmingly. Maybe everything could go back to normal.
The pair spotted Scott at his locker with Jaden, balancing his backpack in one hand as he tried to hopelessly open is locker. Eleanor rolled her eyes as Jaden chatted to Mindy, a girl in their Econ class, and manoeuvred past her twin to Scott, immediately grabbing a hold of his bag to save Scott the trouble.
Scott looked up and smiled thankfully to his best friend and her helpful gesture, while Jaden finally removed his attention from the girl (who had now walked away with her friends), and toward the three best friends.
He eyed Stiles and knocked him on the shoulder. "Dude, you wanna go get our lacrosse sticks from the locker room? Coach didn't give them back to us last practice."
Stiles nodded and waved gently at Scott and Eleanor, before following after Jaden who had already took off toward the locker room. Shaking her head, Eleanor turned back to Scott and lifted his bag up as he emptied some of his books into the locker, rummaging to find space for them all.
A loud bang startled the pair. Eleanor heard it from just behind her, and immediately pulled the bag to her chest, turning round to face the source as Scott widened his eyes and did the same. At the sight of Jackson, slightly sweaty and crazy eyed, Eleanor somewhat relaxed. She wasn't the least bit intimidated by the cocky, arrogant boy, which could not be said for Scott, who pulled Eleanor closer to him.
"I know what you are McCall."
The declarative sent Eleanor into a small but calm panic. Questions circled in her mind like clockwork and Jackson's smug smirk only made her want to punch him in the nose repeatedly. Maybe it would injure his ego as well as his face.
Scott's eyes narrowed, and he straightened himself out, slinging an arm around Eleanor to seek more casual and at peace. "What?"
Jackson simply smiled. "I said, I know what you are."
"I - I'm sorry, I don't understand what you're on about." Scott innocently replied, though gulping and tightening his grip on his best friend as she tensed.
"Yeah," The captain sighed, "You do. And here's the thing."
Scott and Eleanor exchanged looks as Jackson stepped forward. "However it is that you came to be what you are, you're gonna get it for me too."
Eleanor shook her head and pushed Jackson back from the pair. "Get what for you?"
"Whatever it is." He simply pushed, leaning toward her. "A bite - a scratch - magic fairy dust under the moonlight, I don't care. You get it for me, or,"
Jackson paused and pushed both their heads in the same direction. Scott immediately pulled his hand away from Eleanor's jaw as their attention both lingered on Allison. "Or she's gonna find out."
Once he knew that he'd hit a soft spot for the both of them, Jackson smirked to himself, proud of what he had accomplished, before sauntering away down the hall. Eleanor slowly turned to face Scott, who seemed to join her in having a hard time grasping what had just happened, and she pulled him into a hug as she rested her head on his chest, while his rested on her head.
What the hell were they going to do?
...
"the hell did he find out?" Jaden questioned, dodging a freshman as he scratched the back of his neck, craning his neck to see the three of his friends as they walked down the hallway.
"I have no idea." Scott stressed, throwing his hands up.
"Well, did he say it out loud? The word?"
Scott furrowed his eyebrows and leaned closer to Stiles in confusion. "What word?"
"Oh, c'mon." The Stilinski boy sighed in misery for his friend and glanced around. "I mean, did he say 'I know you're a werewolf'?"
"No, but he implied it pretty clearly." Eleanor interjected, her hands running through her hair in stress as all four of them sighed.
They hadn't a clue what to do, or how to handle the situation ; and after discussing the possibility of Jackson telling Argent, Stiles' plan and Allison's necklace, they each departed from the group. Scott and Eleanor headed to English, while Jaden and Stiles had Spanish.
As Scott entered the classroom, his eyes found Allison's seat, and they quickly moved toward an open seat that Eleanor was standing beside. He motioned for her to sit, and as she turned to do so, a pile of books slammed onto the desk, and Eleanor looked up to meet Lydia's icy glare and narrowed lips.
"Find another seat, sweetheart."
Yeah, still completely and majorly pissed off. Eleanor noticeably slumped, however tried not to let the comment faze her as she sat down behind Lydia, giving Scott an apologetic smile as he sat behind her.
The teacher began to talk with the class, asking a few questions as everyone fell into a small and controllable chatter. Scott took this as his chance to finally speak to Allison, and to get the necklace that they so desperately needed.
"Allison." Allison turned around slightly and showed a hint of a smile, trying to ignore the girl in front of him completely.
Eleanor frowned, fiddling with the pen in her hand as she tried to focus on the pair talking. In the space of two to three weeks, she had already lost her new friends, and everyone believed her brother was a murderous psycho, great.
Eleanor's thoughts were cut completely short as Allison suddenly slid out of her chair and ran out of the classroom, tears in her eyes as she looked at her phone. Eleanor turned to see what had been sent, and mentally cursed Scott at what he had done as he too left the classroom, leaving the teacher to comment on their relationship compared to the likes of Shakespeare or something of the sort.
Eleanor immediately followed the pair, only appearing two metres out of the door as she froze at the sight of a tearful Allison and a heartbroken Scott. She didn't hear what had been said but obviously it had been enough for Allison to sniffle and turn on her heel, toward the exit.
Eleanor slowly approached her best friend, lacing her hand with his and resting her head on his shoulder as they walked back to class.
...
excitedly sat down opposite Scott and Eleanor, and Jaden soon followed, balancing their food trays on the table as they looked forward expectantly at the pair.
When nothing was said, Stiles leaned toward. "So, did you get the necklace?"
"Not exactly." Eleanor sighed and rubbed Scott's arm slightly as Jaden furrowed his eyebrows, glancing between the two.
"Okay, so what happened?"
"She told me not to talk to her."
Scott sighed, smiling gratefully at Eleanor as Stiles reeled back in confusion, sighing. "So you're not getting the necklace. Did you find anything else out?"
Scott shrugged. "Just that I know nothing about girls and that they're totally psychotic!"
"Hey!" Eleanor scoffed, nudging Scott as the three boys turned to look at her. "We're not all psychotic, and in Allison's defence, you did make her feel guilty about breaking up with you. You could've gone about it a different way."
Scott groaned, taking a bite out of his apple. "El, you're supposed to be on my side!"
"I am on your side!" She defended, leaning to steal a fry off of Stiles plate. "I am always gonna be on your side! But sometimes you need some friendly advice."
"Why don't you just steal the stupid thing?" Jaden voiced, cutting off the small and immature dispute and putting the teenagers back on track.
"He has a point." Eleanor mumbled, pointing at her twin as she tried to swallow her mouthful of chicken twizzler.
It was silent for a moment, but Eleanor felt Scott tense beside him, and she immediately connected herself to him as she felt his heart beat slightly raise. She followed his line of attention to where Jackson was sat, staring straight at the group.
"He's watching us." Scott stated, causing the two boys to falter in their seats, their gazed toward each other as they tried to avoid looking back at Jackson.
"Scott, can you hear me?"
Jaden, Scott and Eleanor immediately widened their eyes and looked at each other in shock, their hands trembling. The twins, although the same species, Jackson had no idea about, and they wanted to keep things that way. Therefore, they returned to eating like normal, listening in as well.
"What's wrong?" Stiles questioned.
"Jackson : he's talking to me. He knows I can hear him. He knows!"
Eleanor completely tuned out altogether, deciding to connect to Stiles to distract herself from listening to what Jackson had to say. She bit her lip as she tried not to giggle at his thoughts, but noticed how he had become increasingly more alarmed by the second.
She turned to look at where Scott's hands had gripped his tray and winced as she heard it snap, drawing attention to the group of four as they glanced around nervously.
Scott stood up, storming out of the cafeteria, his friends trailing behind him.
...
"!"
Eleanor turned her head away from her locker to look down the hall, where Lydia had approached her boyfriend, a look of hurt and worry in her eye.
Eleanor frowned and closed her locker slowly, paying attention to what was being said between the pair as they stared at one another. Jackson, smug and arrogant ; Lydia, angry and upset.
"This little text." She huffed, pushing her phone toward him. "Not funny."
Jackson tilted his head, humoured as he shook his head, a smile playing at his lips. "I wasn't trying to be funny, if I was, I would've put 'ha ha' at the end. And see, there's no 'ha ha'."
"Are you serious? 'Lydia, please give back my spare house key at your earliest convenience - As we are no longer dating'?"
The jock leant forward in mock horror. "You didn't lose it, did you?"
Eleanor scoffed at his arrogance, shaking her head in dismay as she watched Lydia question his text, her strong and powerful persona falling short as she appeared affected by the games he had played her with since the beginning of their relationship.
"What the hell is this?"
"Well, Lydia." Jackson started, hiking his rucksack higher on to his back. "In preparation for some big changes, I've decided to drop some dead weight in my life. And you are just about the deadest."
Eleanor rolled her eyes at the mention of 'big changes', finding it hard to believe that even someone as idiotic as Jackson would want the type of life her family and Scott seemed to have. And at the tone of disgust and his hard hitting comment, Eleanor burned fire into his face with her glare.
Lydia seemed taken back, so much so that she literally took a step back. "Are you breaking up with me?"
"Dumping, actually." Jackson spat. "I'm dumping you."
