I was snapped awake to a tapping on the window of Tyler's car.

I looked out the window to see my mother standing by the car door.

I glanced over to my left and saw that the driver seat was no longer occupied.

What excuse was I going to give to her so she would let me go?

"Trust our mate, girl" Accalia said soothingly to me.

I rolled down my window as I frantically tried to come up with an excuse.

"Hey mom, I must have fallen asleep. What's going on, where did Tyler go?"

"He's inside, and I just wanted to tell you to have fun on you wilderness survival skills retreat. We're super happy that you joined a club to make friends, sweetheart." She said proudly.

"Uh, thanks mom." I said with a hint of confusion in my voice.

I guess Tyler really is good and convincing people.

I collect myself before I spoke again, as to hide the fact that I had no ideas what was going on.

As I opened my mouth to speak My eye caught Tyler walk out of my house with my duffle bag under his arm from the corner of it.

"It was nice to finally meet you ma'am. I'll be sure to watch over Aubree here over the next few days." Tyler said to my mother in a kind and gentle tone.

Tyler quickly tossed my bag into the trunk of the car and hopped into the driver seat.

"I'll see you in a few days sweetheart, and don't forget to have fun. I love you." She said with a proud grin on her face.

"I love you too mom."

I was completely baffled at how Tyler manage to convince them to let me go without me even having to beg them.

I kept my mouth shut as Tyler shifted the car into drive and rolled out of my driveway.

"Should I even ask how you managed to get them to allow me to leave?" I sputtered out.

"Let's just say I have a way of compelling people to see things my way."

"You know, it made your parents super happy that you are making an effort to make friends in you new hometown." He said with a chortle.

I rolled my eyes and bit back a snide comment about how all of my new friends were going to be beasts.

As we drove In silence I noticed that we were getting deeper into the forest.

The coverage of the leaves over the road was getting denser and the the air was getting thinner.

We must be getting pretty high up onto the mountain.

I remember Tyler telling me he lived a ways up the mountain but I didn't expect it to be this far.

We drove on the only paved road on the mountain for another 20 minutes until we came up to a gravel covered side road.

And here I thought my house was in the middle of nowhere.

The gravel road twisted and turned for another mile or so until we came to an old cabin.

The house wasn't small in size but there is no way it was ever intended to house more then a few people at a time.

Although the cabin appeared to have been well maintained, the structure of the house still clearly showed that it was built a long time ago.

The paint on the shutters was faded and the front porch looked old and weather worn.

"Welcome to my home. I do hope you enjoy the stay miss." Tyler said in a playful tone while he imitated a door man.

I stepped out of the car and stretched my limbs.

The car ride was longer then I anticipated.

A thought snapped into my head.

I couldn't control myself, I figured that if this is going to be my new life I needed to know everything I could about it.

"How come you can shift when there isn't a full moon?"

Tyler chuckled but carefully thought over what I had just asked.

"To simply answer your question you can shift when you want but full moons will always be forced shifts. But you do know that not everything you see in the movies is true, right?"

"Oh," I said taking in his response. "so I could shift now if I wanted to?"

"You could if you tried, but I wouldn't recommend it. The pull of the moon will make your first shift much easier on you."

I nodded my head not fully understanding but accepting his response.

Tyler and I walked up to the front door of the cabin and I followed him inside.

As soon as I set one foot inside the room a wave of his sweet water and woods scent filled my nose.

A low moan bounced around inside my throat.

My eyes widened in surprise at the noise I just made.

This whole wolf thing is going to take some getting used too.

I pulled myself away from my thought and looked up at Tyler.

His eyes had darkened and a sultry grin was plastered to his face.

He slowly stepped forward and snaked his arm around my waist sending little electric shock through my body making my head get foggy.

"Be careful little one, or I may not be able to control my self." He huskily whispered into my ear.
