Dating the boys was interesting to say the least. There you were trying to get away from all the chaos your siblings had injured up with Ultron. Then of course Wanda had been closed off after Pietro's death. The little escape to the seaside party town was a good move in your books- even if it meant having to contain your powers. The first night you had went for dinner after checking out the sights, you had witnessed a much older teen harass a small boy who looked to be homeless. The vigilante inside you was aching to make that asshole see Jesus but of course you couldn't risk anyone seeing your not so normal side.

Instead you had told security and gently guided the young boy away as the punk was dealt with. He was a kind soul, shy and quiet as you asked him questions. Laddie had been his name, one he held onto hard at least until you offered him an ice-cream. You really didn't mean any harm but the more he opened up the sooner you realized he wasn't just a runaway and that he had lost his sister. Wanting to help, you asked if he wanted help finding her just as he finished eating the chocolate treat.

“Wait. You have a little something.” You stopped him as he moved to get up off the bench you were both sat on. His wide curious eyes stared back at you confused.

Instead of telling him, you gently used your thumb to swipe the little smear of chocolate off of his lip. It seemed to confuse him more and it broke your heart. Then you thought that maybe he wasn't used to a gentle touch.

“Is it gone?” Laddie asked as you pulled away.

“Yeah, you're good kid.” You smiled, offering your hand to him. When he reached up and held on, you were struck with a cold feeling. Santa Carla wasn't exactly on the colder side but he felt too cold.

You had half a mind to offer him a jacket or something incase he was cold but within a few minutes of searching you had ended up being surrounded by bikes. Your instincts kicked in, gently pulling the small boy behind you. The darker haired boy sat atop the bike stared you down before glancing behind you.

“Laddie.” He stated, one hand coming off of the steering wheel and gesturing for the boy to come to him.

Right off the bat, your instincts told you there was a threat. They certainly didn't look friendly which was why you quietly asked the boy if he knew the boys.

When the answer was yes, you let him go. He quickly took the outstretched hand and climbed on the back. There was a happy smile on his face, until you eyed the others who seemed to be eyeing you up.

“Dwayne she saved me.” You heard him whisper, confirming that they were unsure of you too.

That's where you decided to call it quits, good deed done for the day.

“Where you goin' sugar?” A voice called as you tried to make an exit.

“None of your business.” You replied, knowing full well you needed to nip this in the bud. The last thing you needed was a little power show just because some guys had annoyed you.

“Ohhh fiesty, feisty babe.” There was a whistle but not from the same blonde.

“Marko, Paul. Leave her.” A hand spun you around to face the brunette, Dwayne as Laddie had referred to him as. The hand immediately letting go and she sooner realized it had been a smug blonde.

“Thank you for helping him.” Was all he said and as you told him it was nothing, he didn't seem to believe it. He looked at you as if you had two heads.

“Not many people are as helpful as you are.” Dwayne explained. You nodded, accepting his strange compliment but you didn't exactly feel comfortable with the vibe they were giving you. It was like they wanted to eat you with a mixture of intrigue.

“Don't sweat it. Couldn't just let the little guy get harassed like that.” You responded, backing away when you could and bypassing the overly friendly blond and the other who was about as intimidating as Bucky.

“Still, thanks.”

Ever since that night, it felt as if you were being watched. You should know the feeling, having been the spy before. You sipped on your smoothie, hand in pocket as you wandered the boardwalk yet again. The first incident might have been enough to out you off, but other than the first unfriendly local, it wasn't such a bad place.

After your first run in however, you hadn't expected to see those boys again. Hence your surprise when they showed up out of no where. Literal no where.

The beach had been quiet when you began Star gazing with close to no one around. It had been a good thing you had better self control of your powers as the hand that grabbed your shoulder could have very easily resulted in them being blasted a good few metres back.

“Hello stranger, what cha doin' ?” A figure plopped down with a laugh, drumming his thighs.

It had all gone downhill from there. One stupid little greeting and seeing the little kid, Laddie again, had done the one thing you weren't expecting: Make friends. Paul, you learned was rather affectionate and flirty, thankfully less so with Laddie around but the others had been just as rowdy. Marko had immediately began playing with you as soon as you began hanging with them and David hadn't been any better, bringing out your impulsive side. Dwayne if anything had been cool enough to teach you skateboarding and even pierced your ear for you.

After you had been introduced to them properly, they didn't seem too bad. If anything, they had grown on you and in the space of a month, you began to look forward to the nightly hang outs. Laddie liked dragging you to the arcade so you could see him beat his high score whilst the others would come and go but at least one would always be with the two.

This night however was a little different, David had given you a small wad of notes and suggested you and Laddie go and have dinner with the promise that they would catch up in a bit. It hadn't seemed suspicious in the slightest, not even when you and Laddie had long since finished dinner.

Laddie didn't seem to care where they went nor could he tell you. With his hand in yours, you decided to go and walk off dinner and get away from the people on the boardwalk. The beach was close enough where you wouldn't be too hard to find.

Swinging back and forth, Laddie told you about his day and all the fun stuff the boys were going to do later. It had been serene and peaceful, almost reminding you of the quiet time you and your siblings spent together- before the chaos.

There was a scream.

You had both wandered a little too far but hadn't thought much of it until now. Eyes widened when you realized it wasn't an excited scream.

“Laddie, we need to go.”

“Why?” He hummed.

The screams grew louder just as you backed away and over the sand dune stumbled a bloodied woman. You gasped and immediately pushed Laddie behind you- there was no way you were going to let him get hurt nor did you want him to see it all.

“Are you okay??” You shouted over only to cry out the second a figure tackled the sobbing girl down. Marko.

Instinctively your powers began to activate. A green glow emanated from your eyes and hands. Raising your fist, a rapid wave of glowing green shot him off of her with a thud and a smack.

There was blood dripping from his mouth and down to his tattered white crop top- stained red. That wasn't the worst of it... his face had changed drastically. Sharper and monstrous with eyes of fiery gold- ones of which looked startled when they landed on you and Laddie. If you didn't know any better you would say he was the one who felt shocked.

“What the fuck are you?” You gasped, alertness raised drastically. You couldn't tell what was happening. They seemed so normal but now they weren't. The other hollering voices were presumably the others and it just made you think.

“Could ask you the same thing.” Marko gaped.

The woman was passed out, limbs sprawled in the sand from blood loss no doubt. She was likely past saving but the revelation of what happened sank in. Was Laddie the same?

You shook your head, “Why'd you kill the girl?" You asked.

Marko eyed you up as he remained crouched. Footsteps and jingles soon sounded over the dune, revealing the other three.

"This is a fucking surprise and a half." David muttered, in the same shape as Marko, in fact all of them were...

You couldn't believe this.

"Dwayne! Dwayne!" Laddie shouted, bypassing you and running over as if it had been normal. You had felt tempted to hold him back but as you watched the brunette drop down to pick him up, you sooner realized. That sweet little boy you saved, was one of them.
