i'm in love with how the city makes me feel. the pedestrian filled sidewalks. the traffic of smoke ruining my lungs. the street food that no amount of fine dining can top. the concrete jungle of dreams and possibilities.
the way the city makes me feel at 8am when the sun strikes through the windows that are overlooking ant-sized people. waiting 10 minutes in line for a cup of coffee. walking past strangers without ever knowing what goes through their minds. the unknown world of possibilities each day brings that fuels me with adrenaline.
the way the city makes me feel at 1am when it starts to subtly quiet down. loud city lights and bright clubbing beats. stolen glances and sarcastic remarks and kissing acquaintances. when it starts to drizzle while walking back with a random guy's jacket keeping me warm. looking up at the shining skyscrapers and feeling so small and yet the whole universe feels like it's within my grasp. nothing makes me feel more alive than the city that never sleeps.
