《Cupid's Arrow ✔》Chapter 21

Today was Saturday, and for the first time in a long run, I woke up with a smile on my face. Even after what happened last night, it didn't disturb my thoughts, because Chase words were roaming and jumbling my mind.

I brushed my teeth, took a warm shower to get rid of the alcohol and went downstairs. I saw Mom in the kitchen cooking my favorite breakfast. Something is wrong here. Mom only makes my favorite food when she wants some favor.

"What is it, mom?" I asked, suspiciously.

Mom let out a nervous laugh. "Nothing, dear. Why would you think that?"

"Because there's always a reason for you to make me my favorite breakfast or food." I slowly walked towards her. I saw Dad sitting on the stool at the kitchen counter, looking anywhere but at me.

"Uh..y-you see," she began, glancing at dad. As soon as their eyes connected, I knew something wasn't right. "It's nothing big, but your dad and I have to go to work, so we thought we'll ask Chase to accompany you till that time." She said, but still missing the main topic.

"Okay?" I gave her a confuse look.

"But," Mom began, again. Damn, it's irritating. "You see, we hav-

"Urgh! Spit it out, already." Dad said clearly frustrated himself. "Remind me why I love your mother," he mumbled to me. I giggled at him.

"Okay? Fine. Geez! She won't take it well," Mom said, throwing her hand in the air.

I raised an eyebrow at her. "What will I not take well?"

She sighed. "Your dad and I usually go for a day. But this time we won't be there for the entire weekend. So..uh..I thought you'll like some company, so I asked Chase if he would keep you company and if he minds staying with you until we're back," she said it in one breath.

Say what!?

"What!? You asked Chase to say here with me? Alone? What type of parents let their daughter and a boy stay together for an entire weekend," I shouted at them. No way!

"Well, young lady. For one, we trust him," she said and held out her first finger. She trusts him, not me. What a mother.

"You trust him, not me?" I asked in disbelief.

"We do. But you get the point. Anyway, two, you're a virgin. I think you haven't had your first kiss yet. So there isn't anything to worry about." She shrugged.

I looked at her wide eyes and jaws hanging open. She did not just say that?

"Uh..uh..Lauren?" Dad tried.

Mom ignored him. "Third, I already talked to his mother. She'll keep an eye on you both. You'll be eating your food there. I'm just allowing you to stay home, so that you're comfortable. Chase doesn't mind either."

This so not done. Just imagine, me and Chase, alone at my place. I shuddered at that thought.

"I know you are going to watch movies. Horror, maybe? So if you get scared, I thought it'll be better if he's here," she said, ignoring the glare I was throwing her way.

"Mom, I'm not scared of ghost. If that's what you're thinking," I explained.

"You're scared of dark," she said flatly.

"So?"

"So it's good he'll be here," she said. I opened my mouth, but she cut me off by raising her hand. "No more discussion. It's already decided."

I looked at dad. Pleading him to object mom. He smiled apologetically. I sighed in defeat. "Fine."

Mom smiled, satisfactorily. "Good. We'll be leaving in one hour." With that she went to her room, probably to pack or something.

I went to my room and took out my phone. I dialled Liam's number and waited for him to pick up. I hope mom didn't tell him anything about last night.

Ring Ring Rin-

"WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED LAST NIGHT?"

Okay. That was not what I was expecting. Looks like mom can't keep her mouth shut.

"Nothing?" I chuckled, nervously.

"Really? You want me to believe that?" He yelled. I pulled my phone a little away from my ears.

"I guess you talked to mom?" I asked.

"You bet I did." He still sounds pissed.

"Okay? Well..." I trailed.

"Chloe Wilson, you better start talking or else it won-" I didn't let him continue. I hung up. What do you expect? I can't hear him lecturing me.

I know you're angry, but we'll talkabout.

I texted him.

He replied back.

I giggled. I miss him so much.

He bought me a present? Confused I replied back.

I'm curious now. He always gets me something when he comes back home.

What? No! I want that gift. Whatever it is.

No! Please. I want my gift.

He'll give me. I know. No matter what.

Fine Tell me what happened last night?

See I told you he'll give me my gift. And if he comes to know what happened last night, I'm worried he might kill who ever that guy was, but it didn't look like I had much option. He knows me too well.

It's better if I tell him when he comes back.

Okay. I'm coming on Tuesday. Tell me then.

He's coming on Tuesday! That's just few days.

Okay, Lee. I'll talk to you later. Bye.

I started jumping. He's coming back. He's coming back.

Bye. Baby!

After that I went down and waited for my parents to go. I saw mom coming down with dad behind her, carrying all the bags.

"Okay. So behave. No funny business while I'm gone," she said in motherly tone.

"Yeah, mom. You guys take care and call me once you reach."

She nodded and hugged me. Then, I went to my Dad and hugged him. That's when the door bell rang. Mom opened the door and Chase came in. He smiled charmingly at mom.

"I see you are ready to go, Mrs. Wilson," he said to mom.

She nodded and looked at me. "Take care of her. And if there's any problem call me, immediately." I could see worry in her eyes.

I can tell that she was referring to my panic attacks. Whenever mom and dad have work which asks them to stay longer than necessary, they always worry, but I've been getting them quite often this month, so she doesn't want to take any risk. Hence, why she called Chase. I don't want them to worry about me.

"Mom, don't worry. Nothing's going to happen. I'm a big girl now," I joked, not really. She gave me a small smile which I returned with my forced one.

They said 'bye' and went into the cab that has been waiting outside. After that we came back in. Just as I closed the door behind me, I turned around towards Chase, hands on my hips and a glare on him. He noticed me glaring at him and took a step back.

"What?" He asked, cautiously.

I raised an eyebrow. "Really? Why did you agree with my mom? You should have said no to staying with me," I snapped.

"I can't just say no. That's rude," he said, shrugging his shoulder.

"No, it's not. Just a simple N and O. It's not that difficult."

He rolled his eyes. "Now that I have already agreed, let's not fight."

"You think that. I'm mad at you." I huffed and walked past him in the kitchen.

"Oh come on, Chloe. You already admitted that you love me, so it's okay if I stay with you for two days," he whined and followed me in the kitchen. I took a water bottle from the refrigerator and slammed the door shut with quite a force.

I turned towards him. "I did not," I snarled at him.

"Did too."

"Did not."

"Did too."

"Did not."

"Did not."

"Did too." Wait...I just. "You tricked me."

"I didn't do anything. You were the one to confess now and before. I have proof, Chloe," he smirked at me. He came closer towards me.

"No, you tricked me. This is not fair," I stomped my feet and crossed my arms against my chest, pouting.

He chuckled. "You know, you look too cute. That pout is forcing me to lose my control now."

I, immediately, rolled my lips in my mouth. Little did I know that will affect him more.

He shook his head, chuckling. "You're too cute for your own good."

That's it. I'm not cute. I'm...I'm tough. Yes! I'm tough. So I did the stupidest thing that only I could do. I opened my water bottle and emptied the entire content on his head. He just stood there shock. After the water was empty, I looked at him with smile.

"Shouldn't mess with me," I said, smirking at him. That got him out of his shock as he looked around frantically, searching for something. I looked at him as the water dripped down from head to his face, passing his lips and neck, into his t-shirt. Damn, he looks sexy.

I must have been staring at him for quite a while because next thing I know, something white was dripping from my head.

Chase had just emptied the entire milk content on me. I stood there, eyes wide and mouth open. He was laughing so hard, that he had to take the support of the counter.

"Your face," he said between his laughter.

"You shouldn't have done it," I said through my gritted teeth. I took the flour that was behind me and threw at his face. Now it was my turn to laugh. "You look like ghost that jumped out of the cartoon movie, shouting 'Boo'," I said, between my laughter.

"Chloe, you're so dead."

"Try me," I said and smirked at him.

He took something from behind him and threw it at me. I dodge it and went behind the counter hiding from him. I took the ketchup that was on counter and slowly moved towards the noise of the cupboards, opening and closing.

I peeked from above the counter to see Chase's back was turned towards me as he was searching for something to attack me with. I tip toe towards him. Just as I was about to jump on his back and attack him, he turned around and snaked his arm around my waist and pulled flushed against him. Then, swiftly turned around again, so my back was pressed on the kitchen counter and my chest was pressed against his.

He was dangerously close to me. He brought his hands up and took something from behind me on the counter and then brought it again towards my face. Slowly, but warmly pressed his finger on my cheeks, dragging it towards my chin to my jaws, down to my neck. All this while not breaking his eye contact. I just stood there, not able to move.

For a split second, his eyes trailed down towards my lips and back to my eyes. The ketchup was still in my hand. He slowly leaned, not taking his eyes off me. He moved pass my lips towards my ears. "I like peanut butter," he whispered. Peanut butter?

He leaned back a little from my ears. I felt his lips on my cheeks. Oh! He had put peanut butter on my face. He slowly opened his mouth and licked the butter from my cheeks. Oh my god!

I was breathing heavily and my eyes closed. His hot mouth not leaving my cheeks. I swallowed my own saliva. My mind went dizzy. I gripped the ketchup in my hand and felt some cold liquid on my hand.

This brought me out of my thought. Shit! Chase is licking my cheeks and moving towards my jaws. My heart started beating fast. I looked at the ketchup in my hand and smirked.

"Chase?" I called, breathless. No. No. Be strong.

"Hmm?" He seems distracted. This is my chance.

"Chase?" I called again.

He leaned back and looked at me. "What?"

"You shouldn't have done that," I said, smirking. He blinked, confused. I brought my hand up and showed him the ketchup. "I'll always win."

I squeezed the bottle at his face. Now, the ketchup was all over his face. He stepped back and touched his face. He looked at his hand and back at me. He narrowed his eyes at me, but before he could do anything, I dashed towards the opposite counter.

We started throwing food at each other while laughing our ass off. Mom will get a heart attack once she sees this. Never mind. She wasn't here anyway. We laughed so hard that my stomach started hurting. We both were covered in different time of ingredients.

"Okay. I think that's enough," he called.

My laugh slowly died down and I stood up fully from behind the counter. Chase was already standing, looking at the mess we made. I looked around to see my kitchen was a disaster.

"We have lots of work to do," I said and eyed the ketchup, flour and some items here and there.

"Lots." He confirmed.

"But it was totally worth it," I said and looked at him, grinning.

"Yeah. It was totally worth it," he said and stared at me. Why do I have a feeling that we are not talking about the same thing?

I still nodded. "Where should we start now?"

This is what, ladies and gentlemen, happens when parents aren't home and they leave their kitchen to the teenagers.

**

We cleaned everything, including ourselves. Chase went home shortly after cleaning my kitchen to take a shower. I went to my room and took a shower too. It was a long shower as I washed my hair as well, since the smell of milk was annoying the hell out of me. I wrapped the towel around me and came out and changed into some shorts and Liam's t-shirt. It was so big that it covered my small form from just his t-shirt.

I dried my hair and went down. After few minutes Chase came back and we decide to order from outside as there was practically nothing left in the kitchen and we didn't want his mom to cook food.

"We have to go shopping tomorrow to get food stuffs. Milk and all that we wasted today," I said to Chase as I took a bite of my Chinese food.

"Yeah. We'll go. We might as well call others to see what they're doing and if they are free, they can join us." Chase said and I nodded my head.

After we finished our food, we decided to play with Brenna as she wanted to meet me. We locked my door and went to Chase's house. I played with Brenna while Chase watched TV.

Later at night after having food with Chase's family, I went home and Chase tagged along, not wanting me to stay alone. We watched movie in my room. I don't know when I feel asleep, but before completely falling asleep I heard Chase say something.

"What are you doing to me, Chloe?" I felt him kiss my forehead and I snuggled closer to him. I sighed and finally fell asleep.
