《Snow And Ice》Alica ~Snow~

Alica was the daughter of the Snow Queen. She loved Christmas: the smile on childrens' faces whenever they stepped out of the door to find a fresh blanket of snow, the laughter and the fun shared by friends and family. She loved the way the snow sparkled under the sunlight and she loved the way all the little brown animals would turn white and snowy. Today Alica was in her mother's winter forest. Up in the north it was cold and snowy all year round. She walked along the line of silver trees, her feet not leaving a print in the deep powdery snow. There were 2 sides of Christmas, the beautiful side which she worked on and the jolly side which her best friend worked on. He was the son of Saint Nicholas, or Santa as he was called. She walked along the perfect line of trees in the perfect garden. Everything was silver or white. Above her the northern lights danced in the sky. She saw a deer, not a reindeer but a snowy white deer with no antlers. Smiling, she held out her hand to the graceful animal. The deer nudged her palm, rubbing her head into her hand. She could hear the northern lights singing if she listened. Green, blue, purple, pink, white, yellow, all the colours danced in the sky. She had often been told she could be mistaken for a Northern, with her long white dresses and white hair that she braided and decorated with silver. Her skin was as pale as the snow she stood on. She continued her walk until she reached a pyramid of ice. All 4 of the different paths through the winter garden converged here. She climbed up the steps and stood at the top with her arms raised and tilted her head upwards so her silver eyes were looking at the stars. Her silver painted lips formed the words.

"The people dream of a blanket of snow" she whispered. "So bring them a blanket of snow." Now her voice was louder. She raised it again. "Give them love and give them joy." She felt the first snowflakes fall down on her. "GIVE THEM A WHITE CHRISTMAS!" she called. The snow fell in beautiful snowflakes all around her. She spun on the ice, catching them on her hands and tongue. Then her mother's dog, the snow hound, the one who gave her and her mother the snowy powers they had, came over, her little puppy following behind. "Snow Flurry" she said in greeting to the big dog. "Snowball" she said to the cute little puppy. She and the puppy shared the same birthday and when she became the Snow Queen she would have her own snow hound, but for now she was 14 and Snowball was still a puppy. She walked through the snow. It would all have landed right across the world by tomorrow morning, a White Christmas for all. Oh, how proud Mother would be. She watched snow catch in the dogs' fur. The same white landed in her hair. Her silver nails sparkled as snow fell all around them. She walked toward the ice palace, where she saw her mother waiting, a kind smile on her young face. As always her mother looked a lot like her, with her white hair always braided and decorated with silver, and she always wore white or silver as well. There was just 1 difference: her mother could sing. Alica could only chant but her mother could really sing.

"There you are, my daughter, why don't you come inside?" he mother called.

"Ok, I'm coming" she called, beginning to run across the snow covered path to her front door. She jumped into her mother's arms then they went through to where the nymphs had prepared them a wonderful meal. She tucked into the food, telling stories of sledging and building snowmen to her mother, who told her some amazing story about her and Saint Nicholas when they were children. They climbed the stairs and entered Alica's room. She walked to the balcony; she looked out across empty snow till about 3 or so miles away. She saw the elf village with its little wooden houses and workshops, a grand stable for the reindeer and best of all, a genre of happiness coming off of it at all times.

"Come on, darling" said her mother, gently turning her away from the balcony and walking her to her bed. Alica snuggled down in the blankets and fell asleep.
