《Sanders Sides One Shots: Volume 1 [COMPLETED]》Colorful Kisses (Prinxiety)

Princey's POV:
Something odd had happened earlier... It wasn't a bad odd, I think, but I was certainly getting to the bottom of it. You see, for a brief moment during a small debate between Anxiety and myself, his pale skin seemed to become more saturated. I brushed it off at first, simply blaming it on a trick of lighting. However, I couldn't blame his black jacket turning purple and white when I called him 'Hot Topic' on the lights. Unfortunately, Anxiety noticed this change and they immediately turned back to black. He then excused himself from the room before I could get another word out.
I was confused, curious, and wanted to know what I had seen. I made my way to Anxiety's room, pausing outside to look at the cracked open door. He always keeps his door closed, I thought.
I cautiously pushed the door open to find the room empty. Now that, was odd. Anxiety was always in his room; where else on earth would he be? I tried to think of things he liked, but unfortunately he doesn't open up about his interests very often, if ever.
A soft sound interrupted my thoughts. A sound I immediately recognized as rain. My eyes widened. Rain...
I knew where to find Anxiety. I briskly headed outside to the little outdoor garden in our mindscape, a touch added by none other than myself. The sky above was dark blues and grays, covered in clouds. Rain was falling steadily, but lightly, making it very pleasing to the skin. Looking forward, I noticed Anxiety sitting cross-legged on one of the benches with his back to me. I noticed that his jacket was purple and white again, despite being soaked. I knew I wasn't imagining things.
A gentle voice pulled me from my thoughts. I focused back on Anxiety, eyes widening in shock as I listened. He was singing, softly.
"I've never felt so wide awake, cause I'm wonder struck. I love how you take my breath away, I'm thunderstruck."
He paused, standing up to wonder around a little. I followed cautiously, noticing that his normally black jeans were now white with rainbow paint splatter designs on them. When he turned, I saw that his shirt was white with what looked like the cover of a Misterwives album. The colors weren't incredibly bright, but the white was blinding compared to his normal black aesthetic. I kept quiet, holding my breath as he continued.
"To tell you the truth I'm so afraid, that I'm out of luck. I love how you take my breath away, I'm thunderstruck."
His beautiful voice faded away, and as the rain diminished, so did the colors. He frowned, looking at the ground as he went back inside. I waited before following and heading into my room to ponder.

"He looked so happy in the rain," I pointed out. "And he was singing an Owl City song, specifically one of their love songs. Everything about that scene was the happiest I'd seen him..."
The light bulb went off in my head as I thought about earlier when I'd called him 'Hot Topic' during our small debate. "Happiness makes him colorful," I said to no one in particular. I began to chuckle a little. "That's adorable! Wait..."
Come to think of it, that was first and only time I've ever seen that happen, which meant... My heart sank. He's never felt happiness around us for years. Something about that made me want to cry. Perhaps it was the fact that the one I love had never felt happy around me until today for a split second before I messed it up again.
I frowned, looking up. I am going to make him happy, no matter what.
My first plan consisted of calling him 'Hot Topic' more, seeing as that was what trigger the color response last time, and being friendlier towards him. "Greetings Hot Topic!" I said cheerily as I entered the kitchen to see him getting breakfast.
He jumped, startled by my sudden appearance in the room. "Oh, hey Princey," he muttered as he continued getting his cereal. There was no specific response to the 'Hot Topic' nickname this time, making me frown a little.
"What cereal are you having?" I asked, walking over to stand next to him as he prepared it. He looked up in surprise, eyebrows furrowing in confusion.
"Uh, I'm having chocolate Lucky Charms," he replied, handing me the box after he'd finish pouring the cereal into the bowl. "Uh, can I ask why so, talkative?"
I gave him a fake wounded look. "Am I not allowed to want to talk to My Chemically Imbalanced Romance?"
I noticed a slight blush appearing on his cheeks, letting me know that he liked being called that as well. He shrugged it off as he finished getting his cereal ready. As he did this, I got my own bowl of Fruit Loops, and sat down next to him at the breakfast bar.
I kept trying to start up conversation, to which I normally got very 'Anxiety' answers. It was frustrating not to be getting any kind of response. I needed to step up my game.
The next day, I found him sitting on the couch in the common room. I greeted him normally, receiving the usually dull response. I smiled to myself as I turned on the T.V. to Anxiety's favorite Disney movie, Aladdin, the same as Thomas. I noticed how his eyes immediately rose from his phone to the screen. At first he tried to pretend like he wasn't watching, but I could see him paying more attention to the screen. At some point he just put down his phone, but still no color.

Two days later, I had my next plan. "Hey Anxiety! You wanna play some Smash Bros?"
He looked up in shock before nodding slowly. "Uh, sure?"
Three hours later, Anxiety let out a noise of triumph as I wailed in defeat for about the fortieth time. "Dang it!"
"You can keep trying Princey but I'll always win," Anxiety said with a smirk. For a few moments, I forgot what I was doing, or why I was doing it.
"If we fought for real, I'd totally win!" I exclaimed.
He rolled his eyes. "Yeah, right."
I smirked, getting an idea. I tackled him into the couch, earning a surprised gasp and protests from him. "Ha! Who's winning now!?"
He smirked and began to struggle. We ended up rustling for a little bit before we fell off the couch. I blinked as I realized that I was on top of him. I could see a blush on his cheeks, brighter than before. I also blushed, embarrassed by what just happened. I coughed and got off him. "Sorry," I said chuckling as I rubbed the back of my neck. He scratched his head, as embarrassed as I was.
"Y-Yeah, well, thanks for playing Smash Bros with me..." he murmured. I opened my mouth to reply when I suddenly found myself in Thomas' apartment.
Anxiety was also there, and as I looked across the room, I saw a very flustered Logan and Patton. I wonder what they were doing that has got their faces so red, I thought, smirking to myself.
"Uh hey guys! I was wondering if we could film a video?" Thomas said, greeting us as we popped up. Apparently he summoned us after the other two, because he wasn't talking to them.
"Of course!" I said enthusiastically as I flicked my arms out of habit. Anxiety shrugged, looking at the ground.
"Wait! One pun before we get started!" Patton exclaimed, thinking. "Oh! What kind of pants does Mario wear?"
None of us knew the answer, so we looked at him expectantly. He sang the punchline in the tune of the Mario theme. "Denim, denim, denim!"
Thomas and I chuckled and even Logan seemed amused by that one, but what no one was expecting, was for Anxiety to lose it. He started laughing, and I mean, laughing. I found my eyes widening as the beautiful sound of his laughter filled my ears. Looking at him, I saw that the colors had returned. His clothing was the bright colors from that day in the rain, but brighter without the water, and his normally black eye shadow was now a light blue. As he began to recover, everyone was staring at him. He looked down in realization.
"Anxiety... why are you all... colorful?" Logan asked slowly. Anxiety sighed, looking around at the four of us.
"Okay, well... I unconsciously become colorful when I'm, you know, happy..." he explained. I pretended to be surprised, and watched the other three lose it over this discovery. "Let's not make a big fuss over it please. The colors faded so can we record this video now?"
After the video was finished and we had sunk back down, Logan and Patton went off somewhere together, leaving me alone with Anxiety, who was sitting on the couch. Swallowing my nerves, I sat down next to him. "So, uh- Anxiety? I kinda want to tell you something..." I said, trying to calm down. He looked at me, silently telling me to continue. "I kinda, already knew about the colors thing... and I've, uh- I've been trying to make you happy these past few days... cause I, really care about you, and the thought of you being unhappy all the time made me feel horrible... I just couldn't handle the thought of you never being happy around me... a-and I totally get it if now I've freaked you out, cause as much as I brag at being amazing at romance, I'm actually terrified right now, and you probably don't feel the same-"
I felt a hand on my shirt pulling me, and then a pair of lips on my own. My eyes widened, realizing what was happening as I melted into the kiss. My eyes fluttered closed as I began to kiss back, softly and passionately. After a moment, we slowly pulled away, and I was greeted by bright brown eyes and blue eye shadow. He was completely colorful, including a bright pink blush on his cheeks from our kiss.
"Roman... I love you too," he murmured, kissing me again and making my heart do flips.
"Be my boyfriend?" I muttered in between kisses with a smile. He nodded, looking into to my eyes for a moment before pressing his lips to mine once more.
"I'd love to."
Anxiety was colorful all week.
