《naruto character one shots》Picture Perfect [Sai]

No matter what, Sai has always undoubtedly been there for you. He'd sit outside with you on your porch and you two would talk all night long, he'd give you endless hugs whenever you were a wreck. Before you met Sai, you never knew what it was like to be able to look at someone and smile for no reason.
Sure the boy has his own quirks and shyness but those are the reasons you're drawn to him. You may be 'just friends' but your friendship is something you hold very dear to your heart. You always found it adorable how he relied on books and the internet as sources on how to "socialize" and connect with other humans. His cutest moment by far is the first time he called you 'beautiful'. He had made mention that he read a book saying that when making friends it's nice to come up with a nickname for them that matched their personality, and he settled on beautiful. Of course you broke out into a massive, almost psychotic, grin, from ear to ear. And it still gets your every time he says it.
Not that he doesn't feel the same way. You've helped him open up and share his feelings. He's had a tough past which ruined him emotionally, but you stuck around to help him progress. Now Sai smiles brighter and more real than anything. All because of you.
You and Sai met through mutual friends, Naruto and Sakura, almost two years ago. Sai transferred into Konoha High for the art program they were running. You went to a classy private school and knew Naruto and Sakura from kindergarten and grammar school. When you two were introduced, the both of you were complete train wrecks. Sai barely knew any polite etiquette and was all fake smiles and empty conversations. You were having an absolute horrible year at school, yet you both were both so different. You were too nervous but kept all your angry energy bottled up inside you. You did not like Sai at all at first, and I have a feeling that those feelings were mutual. But some how you both got over your obnoxious personalities and helped each other as far as social skills can go, in the process building a bond so strong nobody could break it.

At the moment, you both were shopping at your local mall. It slightly took you by surprise that Sai actually enjoyed going shopping with you. He was probably only in it for the art supplies store, and today the mall was hosting some kind of art convention showcasing amateur drawings. You asked Sai to give one of his pieces to show off but for some reason he wasn't a fan of getting attention, especially when it came to his talent.
Sai, being the gentleman that he is, offered to carry your bags as always. You always accepted but felt awkward, feeling that some of the fellow shoppers may think you two were together, but here he was bags bunched up in fists in both hands. You're quite the shopaholic, and you were very grateful that Sai was being so patient to wait his turn for his store.
After going to store after store, browsing for items like clothing, make-up, cd's, shoes. You both decided to take a break and sit on one of the benches to rest your legs.
"Oh, Sai!" You squealed, jumping up, bags and all.
The boy looked in the direction you were pointing at, his eyes meeting what you were fussing about.
"There's a photobooth! Come on, let's go take pictures." You said whilst dragging him to the mini photobooth.
"O-okay." Was all he said, following you into the small, tight little box. You closed the curtain and began searching aimlessly through your pockets for change.
"{Name}, what is a photobooth?" He questioned in his usual curious voice.
While sliding the coins through the slot you read the directions printed on black and white laminated paper next to the lens and screen.
"The camera goes off on a timer. You pose differently for each individual picture it will take. In this case, the came will click at 5 second intervals for two sets of 4 pictures. So you get one and I get one!" You explained.

Before Sai had a chance to reply, the screen began counting down from five and your fun began.
You first few pictures consisted of you both just smiling, arms over eachothers' shoulders. The second more laid back and goofy.
You then leaned into kiss Sai's cheek but to your surprised that was the split second he turned his head, causing a head in collision between your lips'. It was just a quick peck and you both blushed at it. Sai quickly pulled your face closer, deepening the kiss for just a second before the last 'snap' of the camera went off and the developed pictures came rolling out, blocky and on top of eachother in a Polaroid style, the last few revealing the change of events taking place just moments ago.
"Did I do it right, {Name}?" Sai asked, cluelessly.
"Of course you did, Sai." You replied, completely embarrassed and you grabbed your pictures, ripping it I'm half so Sai could have one too, for himself.
"We should take pictures together more often, beautiful." He cooed into your ear, leaning down to your level. The slight pink blush that tainted his snow-white skin had already disappeared.
He laced his fingers through yours as you two set off to the art store. You both ignored any familiar stares directed at your interlocked hands, after all you're both 'just friends'.
