Meine Sicht wurde verschwommen und ich spürte eine heiße Träne meine Wange runter Rollen. „Liv, haben wir was falsch gemacht?“ fragte Felix seine kleine Schwester mit einer besorgten Stimme. Ich spürte, wie mich jemand zu sich in den Arm zog. Ich drückte mich an die Person im schwarzen Shirt und fing an zu weinen. Ich flüsterte leise „Papa..“.
Das nächste was ich merkte war, dass eine andere Person mich hochhebte. Ich fing an noch mehr zu weinen, versuchte aber mich zusammen zu reißen. „Alles ist gut, nicht weinen.“ Sagte eine Frau. Ich wusste, dass es entweder Rachel oder Olivia waren, aber in diesem Moment hörte ich einfach nur eine Stimme, die jedem gehören könnte. Sie setzte mich wieder ab und ich lief zurück zum Tisch und umarmte wieder die Person im schwarzen Oberteil. Er setzte mich auf den Stuhl neben sich und wischte mir die Tränen aus den Augen. „Ich glaube ich gehe mal mit ihr zu Mom und Dad.“ Sagte Felix. Er nahm mich an die Hand und ging mit mir in den Garten, wo meine Adoptiveltern saßen. Melissa schreckte auf als sie mich sah und fragte :„Was ist passiert, Felix?“. Felix dachte kurz nach und antwortete „Ich weiß es nicht so wircklich... Liv hat ihr nur eine high five gegeben und dann hat sie angefangen zu weinen. Rachel hat schon versucht sie zu beruhigen, aber sie weint immer noch mehr, wenn Rachel sie hoch hebt.“ Er redet so, als ob ich nicht da wäre. Wieder hebte mich eine Person hoch und diesmal schlief ich fast sofort ein.

In the city of Kholakel, the highlight of the year for the upper classes is the annual monster pacification of the misty woods. Ostensibly it's a culling of the monster population to prevent them encroaching on urban areas, but it's an open secret that it's actually treated as more of a blood sport, the participants competing to score the most kills. After all, why else would the politicians and elites of the city bother to attend personally? Given the intense competition and high-tech weapons and gear in use, one might wonder how the forest has not yet been completely depopulated. As this year's culling approaches, a group of unfortunate children are about to discover the answer first-hand, but thanks to an unexpected twist of fate, one of them will score the chance to play the role of the hunter instead of the prey. This was an attempt at writing something darker than my usual fare. The story I actually ended up with isn't as mean to the MC as I'd originally planned out, to the point that I'm not sure the story deserves the horror/grimdark tags anymore, but this is still an unfair world with unambiguously evil antagonists. Chapters are short to start with, but get longer once the first act is over.

AND there's plenty of comedy and comedic moments in it but i could only add so many genres. NOTE: I have every intention to finish writing this novel in a proper way.
