《Return • Todoroki ff》Chapter 6

"Niko. Niko." Shoto called out as he shook her shoulders. However his attempt to wake Niko up was not very successful because the girl continued to sleep.
Shoto scratched his head trying to think of a solution while he was thinking Niko started to mumble something.
"No.. no... don't go!" With that Niko woke up sitting up from her sleeping position immediately. She gripped onto the fabric of her shirt tightly as she took in deep breaths.
"Niko are you okay?" Shoto questioned as he watched her taking in deep breaths and Niko nodded in reply before exiting the car.
Shoto didn't say much as he locked the car and walked towards his apartment.
"Treat this as your own house." Shoto stated as he stepped into his apartment. He changed his shoes into house slippers and grabbed a pair of slippers for Niko from the cabinet.
After Niko changed into her slippers she took the opportunity to look around after asking permission from Shoto of course. As she was wandering around the house she realised that the house was mostly plain beside a few potted plants scattered around the house. At that moment a picture frame caught her eye and she walked towards it. The frame had a family picture, the Todoroki Household. But of course that was when all the Todorokis' were younger.
"Niko?" Niko turned her attention to the kitchen where Shoto was standing.
"Do you want soba or ramen?" He questioned holding up two packets of noodles.
"Soba please." Shoto nodded and returned the ramen package to the cabinet.
Niko continued to wander around the house occasionally stopping to look at pictures that were hung on the walls. As she was looking at the pictures she noticed a girl in one of the pictures and she took a closer look and realised that the girl in that picture was her.
Unknowingly, I took the picture frame down from the shelf to take a closer look.
"How can that be me? I look so different now.." I mumbled to myself as I continued to examine the picture.
"Niko?" I turned my head and saw Shoto sending near me. When I mean near I meant very near.
"I called you many times but you didn't respond to me so I came over to take a look." He explained.
"So um why did you call me?"

"The soba is ready." I nodded in reply and returned the picture frame to its original spot and walked towards the dining table to eat my food.
"So what were you looking at?" He questioned.
"Oh erm I just saw a few picture frames sitting on the shelf so I went to take a look."
"You saw the one with you didn't you.." I nodded in reply as I slurped on the soba.
"Hey the soba is great did you learn to cook?" He nodded and smiled as he took a bite out of his own food.
"Thanks for sending me home Todoroki." I said as I exited the car.
"Niko wait! I have something for you." He called out and reached out to the back of his car to pass me a box.
"Open it when I leave." After saying that he drove off into the distance and I watched as the car disappeared to open the box.
Inside the box with a beautiful silver bracelet with the initials, N.H
'Why would he give me a bracelet?' I thought as placed the bracelet into my pocket and walked into the house.
"You're finally back. Do you have any idea what time it is?" Asahi lectured as he crossed his arms over his chest and stood in front of the entrance to the house.
"Calm down Asahi. You're acting like a dad." I said as I took off my shoes and shook my head at his actions.
"Hey you're my sister. I am obliged to act like a dad when dad isn't around."
"Okok calm down. Anyways I am back now." I said and gave him a peck on his cheeks before walking to my room.
"Goodnight Asahi!" I yelled from the entrance of my room as I entered and closed the door I could hear a muffled 'Goodnight sis.'
I giggled as I took the bracelet out of my pocket and placed it on my dressing table. I sat on the chair as I took off my accessories and placed everything back into the jewellery box except that bracelet.
"I guess I can wear it with that necklace now." I mumbled as I walked to the closet to take my clothes and towel to shower.
After showering I sat on my bed and scrolled through social media as I waited for my hair to dry.

Just when I was about to switch off my phone to go to sleep it rang I sighed in frustration as I switched on my phone again and clicked the notifications.
Shoto, Niko
Have you opened the box?
Yes. The bracelet is very beautiful thank you.
Are you going to wear it?
It depends.
I see....goodnight Niko.
Goodnight Todoroki.
With that I switched off my phone and placed it by my bedside table and shortly after that I fell into dreamland.
As the clock struck 8, Niko's phone started to ring and she reached over to snooze it but of course the alarm rang shortly after that. Niko groaned in reply as she sat up on her bed and ran her fingers through her hair.
"Weekends always go by so fast.." Niko mumbled as she got off her bed and went to the bathroom to get ready for the day.
As she emerged from her room, she was wearing a white button-up shirt paired with a black pencil skirt that reached her knees, her brown hair was hanging loosely by her shoulders and on her wrist and neck she had the necklace and bracelet Shoto gave. She carried a black handbag as she walked down to the dining table.
"Good morning sis." Asahi said as he grabbed a piece of bread from his plate.
"Good morning Asahi, aren't you suppose to be in school?" Niko questioned as she sat at the seat opposite her brother.
"Well you see I was wondering if you could send me.." Niko sighed and nodded and grabbed a piece of bread for herself.
"Asahi lets go or you're gonna be late." Niko shouted as she wore her white heels.
"Coming!!" Asahi yelled as he grabbed his bag and another piece of bread.
Once Niko wore her shoes she walked out of the door to the car and sat in the driver's seat waiting for her brother.
"Sis. You gotta relax."
"Yea yea says the one who was gonna be late."
The car ride was silent and once they reached UA Asahi waved goodbye to his sister before getting off and going into the school. Once Niko saw that Asahi got in safely she drove to work.
Upon reaching her workplace she parked her car and took her bag before walking into the building. As Niko walked into the building she noticed that Yuito was standing by the entrance and greeted her as she walked in.
"Yuito, you don't have to stand here to greet me every morning.. It's not necessary." Niko commented as she walked into her office.
"I see I'll take note of that. Mr Arai is already in your office."
"I see thank you Yuito. You can go back to whatever you're doing I'll call you when I need you." Yuito nodded and walked off as Niko walked into her office.
"Hitori-san you are early to work today." Kaito commented as he looked up from his screen.
"I can't tell if that's a compliment of insult Kaito." Niko said as she placed her bag down on her desk.
"So any updates for my schedule today?" Niko asked as she watched Kaito pick up the tablet from his desk.
"You have a meeting with the team today to discuss the new arrivals and shortly after that you need to go meet the suppliers to discuss the new arrivals and then you need to go to the main office to check your new office."
"So that's the whole day?" Kaito nodded and Niko sighed.
"This is going to be a long day." Niko said as she leaned back into her chair and Kaito placed his tablet down.
"Well, your day starts in about 1h so I guess you can use it to get some coffee." Kaito said as he returned his attention to his laptop and Niko hummed as a reply.
"Well as the best secretary ever why don't you go get me some coffee." Niko said as she turned her head to look at Kaito as he sighed in defeat and got up from his chair.
"The normal?" Kaito asked and when Niko nodded in reply he walked out of the room to get her coffee.
When Kaito left, Niko closed her eyes hoping to get a quick nap before her meeting but it was interrupted when her phone started to ring, she opened her eyes again and rummaged through her bag to find her phone to pick up the call. When she finally found her phone she checked the caller ID and saw that it was Shoto.
"Isn't he on patrol or something.. Why is he calling me?" Niko questioned as she picked up the call.

Dream Dungeon
Welcome to the dream dungeon. Ely suddenly finds himself in a mysterious dungeon accessed only through sleeping. Many people are drawn into this dream world, confused and mystified. Those in this dungeon must kill monsters to survive; maybe even each other. Join Ely as he struggles to survive a ruthless environment. What replaces his rest is untold trauma. What seems like an innocent game trope turns into a nightmare. This is a story of tragedy and the path to ultimate power. All in the hopes of an uncertain survival. _________ This fiction has NOT been abandoned. I made a haughty promise earlier to not worry because I'll continue this series, and with things lately, I've only proved myself a liar. Further promises dwindled, and I've lost trust. So many things have been going on recently that I've been booked. I will refrain from making any future guarantees or promises as my busy schedule will stay with me for a long long while. Time for me to actually spend on writing and revising won't appear until at the least November 19. I won't say expect that's when I'll restart, but you can expect expecting it to maybe happen. That's really shallow. But with everything going on, I've let my small reading base down. I apologize. I still stick by my statement though that I won't abandon this project. I plan to stick it to the end, no matter the delay. Most importantly, thank you everyone; readers who both like and dislike my work. I appreciate your time spent on my dumb imagination. Stay toasty my readers in this winter season. Cheers. UPDATE: We're back on track. Thank you for your patience. Any future readers, heyo! Glad you're here. UPDATE 2: So far it's been 21 days since I last uploaded a chapter. The best thing done for any fiction, no matter how good it is, is that it continues, and I have a bad history with that. 1 fiction on hiatus and already more delays with less than 20 chapters in this fiction. I've been very preoccupied with adding more things to do in my life rather than actually committing to any particular thing. That applies primarily to this. I cannot abandon this, as busy as my future looks and will look as I get busier and busier. Someday, I hope, I will be able to sit down and just write. just. write. But for now, I ask for patience. I suppose I'm glad this fiction hasn't picked up so that I don't disappoint too many people if any really. But I need to commit and it's going to happen sometime and sometime soon. No more flowery words. I'll see you later. UPDATE 3: It's very evident I won't be able to pick up this story for a while. With AP Testing, competitions, and other things I am busier than ever. But I must complete this fiction. I have too. Until next time. UPDATE 4: It is now the summer. I owe everyone an apology. Chances are, nobody's around to see this, and that is okay. I only blame myself for this sort of brokenness of a fiction, not that it is actually that bad but I am just exaggerating it for dramatic effect. But what's not exaggerated is the severity of my broken promise. I apologize for my naive claims about finishing a novel that I couldn't finish and that I didn't have the discipline to finish. Nor the skills, really, I was and am still an immature writer. What is to place now? I want to make it clear I understand this is my fault. I will man up to this. And I will accept any criticism. I understand I messed up. Reading Stephen King's On Writing made it clear to me that I need to do two things:Read lots. And write lots.I have done neither. If I don't have the time to read often, how do I expect to write? I need to become more experienced. I need to become a serious writer. So if I want to dream of continuing, I need to at least fulfill both requirements. I enjoy writing. I haven't written seriously outside of school in a while. I planned to write this summer and finish this. I made a lot of promises that I didn't keep.So there's that. I won't enact any self-pity, or be foolishly obsessed. What I did was wrong, and I must deal with it. I let down readers. And I apologize.I hope I can find forgiveness. This is a writer's sin.I won't promise I'll finish this. I intend to finish this, at some point, because writing is fun and I want to write. But how things are don't reflect that. Maybe I'll finish this at some point. Maybe I won't. I won't be naive to make that promise.I thank everyone who has read this if this is the end. If not, and hopefully not, I thank everyone who is to read future chapters. I thank everyone who allowed me to live in the miniscule little dream of mine as I passed my days. I thank everyone who cares enough to read this. Until next time, peace everyone. Thank you. You are all great readers and great people. I wish everyone the best in whatever reading/writing endeavors follow you henceforth.
