《Jade *COMPLETED*》Chapter 8

*The Next Day*
Jade POV
"Oh Cleo, I'm so sorry," I said as tears spilled down my cheeks and onto my bed as I was already in my mermaid form with my door locked and had a wardrobe holding it shut.
I have called the girls earlier trying to find out what happened to them during the full moon. Only to find out that we all had now additional powers to do with storms, and that Cleo and Lewis broke up.
"Thank you, Jadie, but please don't worry about me, we have to focus now on controlling these new powers," Cleo said quickly changing the topic.
I nodded and continued to chat with my friends until my tail transformed back into my human body. We soon ended our call and I got up from my bed, stretching and making my bones crack in satisfaction.
I pushed the small wardrobe back to it's original place, sighing heavily at how much it weighed. I then unlocked my door and opened it to reveal my family and the pack. I jumped back in fear like a cat fearing water or cucumber. "What the hell?!"
"Who were you talking to?" Jake asked making me roll my eyes as I pushed past the walking John Cena's to get into the kitchen and make myself some toast with butter. "Jade, who were you talking to?"
"What is this? An interrogation scene with the police?" I asked as I popped the toast into the toaster. "I was speaking to my friends from Gold Coast. Is that a crime?"
"No but a big phone bill," Dad said making me sigh heavily. I walked over to him and hugged him.
"I'm sorry Daddy, I just miss them," I said making Dad nod. "I promise I'll try to limit my calls. Now can I please go eat? I'm starving!"

Dad and the pack chuckled until I turned around to be hit immediately with cold water touching every part of my face and my chest. I stared in shock at Jake who had a 'I-have-enough' face. I shook my head as I felt an all too familiar tingle emerge through my body and I soon felt the feel of my tails scales.
I toppled over forward and landed hard on the matless floor. "Ouch!"
I felt everyone's stares as I laid in my mermaid form on the floor. Even though I couldn't see the stares, I could see the shock on my Dad's and Jake's face. I held myself like in a plank form during sport lessons as I glared at Jake. "Towel and a blow drier. Now."
I soon got them and started drying every part of my body that got wet. I felt everyone's stares as I dried my body like a piece of meat. After drying my body and face for a few minutes, my form changed again to reveal me in shorts, a long sleeved top and my hair back up in a messy bun.
I got up from the hard floor and dusted myself, noticing that bruises were forming. I turned around, grabbed the first thing I saw - which was a newspaper - and started beating the shit out of my brother with it.
"Ow! Ow! Jade stop it!" Jake yelled in pain as my strength increased.
"How. Fucking. Dare. You!" I screamed with every hit. "Do you have any idea what you have just done?!"
"Jade please stop!" Jake shouted as he grabbed the newspaper from my hands and threw it aside, only to be met with me throwing water at his face. He looked at me in so much shock that it looked like I killed his puppy.

"I hate you!" I spat before running out of the house, being called to come back by the pack.
"Jade! Jade come back!" I heard Paul's voice as he chased me through the forest. I soon found myself on the beach and immediately jumped into the waves before diving in.
Paul POV
I watched as my imprint once again disappeared in-front of my eyes, with the last thing I see was her beautiful tail.
I stared into the ocean which made me realise now how important it was to Jade. Her being a mermaid also explained so much things like her fear of rain, and basically water. Her locking herself in her room and bathroom. It explained so much now that I couldn't believe it when I saw her transform from a normal girl into a mermaid.
All I could do is stare at her and take in every detail of her. I will definitely never forget this moment. And now that I know that my imprint is another form of a shapeshifter, this made me realise that I may have it easier to break down everything for her.
I just have to find the right time.

The Supernormal
In a world where fantasy has become everyday, one man stands against absurdity. The local Tower stomps through the streets. Any hedge could contain a witch. Walls regularly crumble, though none more often than the fourth. In the magical city of Blackpool, all ridiculousness is possible, and it takes everything for Jack Of All Trades to survive. Badly, at that. Perpetually late with his rent, he'll take up arms for any paying customer in order to fulfill his quest. His obstacles include polka-loving ghosts, card-game playing vampires, and the most vicious monsters of all: copyright lawyers. When he's joined by an arrogant magus and an insecure vampire, his life gets even more complicated, but no matter what kind of infuriating choose-your-own-adventure he finds himself on, one constant remains—his rent is due at the end of the month. On second thoughts, maybe he should stay in bed. The Supernormal isn't your average web-novel. It's an urban fantasy parody that saunters through a world full of the absurd, delighting in poking fun at popular media, widely-accepted ideas, and often itself. Story arcs only loosely connect through the characters, who are themselves slowly fleshed out as the story continues. Think of Discworld meets The Dresden Files meets Gintama. This novel won't be for everyone, but if it is for you, you're in for a hell of a ride.
