Flashback

"Momma! Look at what I drew" 7 year old Willow yelled giddily as she ran up to her tired looking mom with a piece of paper in her hands.

"Oh my, it's so beautiful Willy!"

"Thank you momma. That's you, Oli, and me." The little girl smiled, showing that her two front teeth were missing.

"I love it so much baby, let's go hang it up on the fridge okay?" Her mother said as she smiled tiredly at her daughter. She was working many shifts as money was tight. She was often tired, but always made time for her two babies.

"Okay momma! Lets get Oli first! I wanna show him!"

Willow dashed to the living room where her brother was watching TV and laying on the floor.

"Oli! Oli! Oli! Look!" She hastily showed her older brother her drawing as she was very proud and couldn't wait for it to be displayed on the fridge.

"It's good Willy!" Her brother smiled as he roughed up her hair.

"Come hang it up with momma and I!"

"Momma, are you okay?" The small girl asked as she hugged her teddy bear close to her chest along side with her brother.

"Yes baby, I'm okay, I promise."

...

"Tag! You're it momma!" Willow exclaimed as she laughed and ran away with her brother to get away from her mother.

"Oh you're gonna regret it Willy!" Her mother looked at her children with a wide smile on her face. Nothing made her happier than bonding time with her two children. She loved them a lot, and often felt sorry that they had to live the way they do, but she hopes that they'll soon live a better life.

Willow quickly sent a text to her brother before heading to her destination. However, she had to stop by the flower shop first.

I'm gonna go out, just letting you know

Okay, be careful

Driving to the flower shop, she was greeted by the aroma of nature — her favorite scent. Flowers often reminded her of her mother whom she missed dearly.

Quickly buying pink tulips, she went straight to where she wanted to go — the cemetery.

The cemetery was, for a long time, a hard place to go. For a while, Willow couldn't wrap the thought around her head that her mother was gone. Her mother — the woman that gave birth and raised her, and gave up so much for her — was gone. It was hard to believe, but it's been easier for her to come see her mother.

She tries to visit as much as she can, but sometimes it is hard knowing that her mother isn't physically with her, but Willow tries to be strong, knowing her mother wouldn't want her to be sad.

"Don't cry love. It hurts me when you cry. Smile for me please?" The woman said as she took care of her child's wound.

Willow has tripped and scrapped her knee, which was the reason for her tear stained face.

"I'm sorry momma, please don't be sad, see? I'm better know!" The girl smiled as widely as she could as she sniffled. Due to all the crying, her nose was getting runny, but she wanted to make her momma happy, so she didn't care.

Getting out of her car, she grabbed the picnic basket and flowers, and headed towards her mother.

"Hey momma..."

"I made your favorites today, I know I haven't done these picnics in a while, but I'll do them more, I promise. I don't want you to think I've forgotten you, I've just been busy — not that I'm too busy for you momma. But I have a lot to tell you."

Quickly setting up the picnic, she sat down in front of the gravestone.

"These flowers are for you. I remember how much you loved pink tulips." She smiled at the thought.

"Momma? What are your favorite flowers? You've never told me."

"Well baby, I really love pink tulips. They actually symbolize happiness and love. Whenever I look at pink tulips, it reminds me of you and Oli because you're both my happiness and I love you guys very much."

Willow painfully smiled at the memory.

"I miss you a lot momma. I wish you were still here." She carefully traced her finger over her mother's gravestone as she tried to hold her tears at bay.

Wiping her eyes, she tried to change the topic.

"I have so much to tell you momma, I don't know where to start."

So throughout the whole afternoon, Willow spent her day catching up with her mother — telling her everything that had happened since her last visit. From Everett and his friends to Maxwell.

Just the thought of Maxwell brought a smile to her face.

"He makes me really happy momma. I'll bring him to meet you one day, I promise. You'll love him." The girl blushed as she talked about the boy.

"One day, Willy, you're gonna meet a boy who you're gonna be head over heals for. He's gonna treat you as if you're the only person that matters to him. You're gonna get all bubbly and happy whenever you think about him. He's gonna feel the same way you do. And that's gonna be the day you found love." Willow's mother explained to her daughter as she tried to get her to sleep.

"But momma, I don't want that! I'm happy with just you, Oli, and I! I don't want anyone else momma."

"Okay baby, but it's time to sleep. Be a good girl and get some rest for me okay?"

"Okay momma, goodnight! I love you!"

"I love you too baby."

"I think he could be the one momma. He really makes me happy, and he treats me more than well. I really hope you like him when he comes to visit. Maybe I'll bring him next time." She blushed.

She was so caught up in talking with her mother that she didn't realize she was being watched by her father. Obviously he wasn't dumb enough to try anything as there were a few other people in the cemetery. Deep down, he's always regretted his decision and wanted to come back and change. However, it's too late for that. He's way beyond messed up. It's a bit late for change. He knew he was fucked up mentally. But he couldn't help, but watch his children from afar feeling something in him.

Jealousy.

He was jealous that his children were prospering without him. He was jealous that his children were making more money than him. He was jealous that while he was fucked up, taking drugs, sleeping around with women, his children seemed fine.

He always had this image in his head that one day, his children would turn up as fucked up as him. That maybe one day, they would find him and beg for him to come back because they couldn't live without him. But oh how wrong he was.

They were just fine without him. They never needed him. And that thought riled him up. But for now, all he could do was watch from afar.
