"C'mon Willow." Maxwell said as he opened the door for her.

Taking the hand he held out for her, she quietly thanked him. "Where are we Max?" She looked at the building.

Annie's

"Is this place okay?" Maxwell asked nervously, "I should've asked, I'm sorry baby, if you don't like it we can-" He rambled on, but was cut off as Willow placed her lips on his — giving him a peck.

"It's more than okay, besides, I love this place." She said as she blushed, and looked at her shoes. However, Maxwell wanted to see her eyes, and she was doing the opposite of what he wanted, so he placed two fingers under her chin, gently lifting her head up to. "Look at me baby."

Willow looked at the man in front of her with her beautiful does eyes. The girl has never had a favorite color before, but now, they were the color of Maxwell's eyes. It was sunny outside, so the sun made his light brown eyes look like pools of honey. The same could be said for Maxwell. He loved Willow's dark brown eyes. They reminded him of dark chocolate brownies. It seems weird that both of their eyes reminded the other of food, but they didn't care.

"I don't like it when you look away from me baby, I always wanna see your beautiful eyes." Maxwell said softly as he tucked a strand of hair that fell out of place behind her ear.

"I'm sorry, let's go?" Willow said as she gave him a smile as her cheeks flustered.

Walking into the place, it was very bright and beautiful. The floors were black and white checkered, and the seats were red and white. The walls consisted of a line of checkered wrapping around, and held many pictures of the diner throughout the years, as well as the owner and her family. The place was very homey, and was full of people having the time of their lives. There was even a jukebox in the corner. Annie's was filled with chatter and laughter, and background music.

"Hello I'm Amelia, I'm gonna be your waitress for today, what can I get for you?" The waitress said as the two couple sat down, greeting them with a notepad and pen in her hands.

"Willow? Is that you?" Amelia asked.

"Amelia?" Willow asked as she looked at the girl with wide eyes. "Holy. Hey! Sorry I haven't been checking up on you. How are you?"

"I'm doing okay, you know, what about you?" Amelia replied as her voice nearly cracked.

"I'm good. Oh, this is Maxwell, my... boyfriend. Max, this is Amelia, my friend." Willow blushed as she introduced her boyfriend as, well, her boyfriend.

"Nice to meet you." Amelia said as she turned to look at him. All she had received was a nod. "Your order?"

"Oh, can I get a chocolate milkshake, and a cheesy pizza and fries?" Willow says as she closed the menu. "I'll have a vanilla milkshake, and two cheese burgers."

Amelia quickly wrote down their orders and left.

"Who is she, and how do you know her?" Maxwell asked as he furrowed his brows in curiosity.

"That's Amelia. We met at the cemetery. Umm... her girlfriend committed you know... yeah. But she's been there for me and me her. We haven't talked in a while though."

"What's your favorite color?" Willow asked. The pair were now playing 20 questions as they were eating their food.

"Dark brown." Maxwell replied. "Favorite animal?"

"Lion cubs. Weirdest nickname you've had?"

"Someone called me 'Maxy Pad', but I punched them afterwards." Maxwell said — earning a laugh from Willow. "Embarrassing moment?"

"In fifth grade, on the first day of school, my teacher asked who lived out of the country. I didn't know what a country was yet, but I thought they were states. So I raised my hand, and said California." Willow said as she cringed at that moment. Maxwell bursted out laughing — clutching his stomach because it hurt from him laughing so hard. "Weirdest dream?"

"This was a long time ago, but I had a dream that I was in a warehouse full of power rangers, and these vampires were after me. Suddenly I was at target running away from them. Since it was a long time ago, I only remember it vaguely. What's your favorite food?"

"Maybe pizza or pasta. Ummm can I ask you a more personal question?" She asked hesitantly to which he hummed in response, urging her to go on.

"Well, I wanna know about your personal life — childhood and such." Her eyes drifted anywhere, but the man in front of her because she was scared he was gonna get mad.

"I had an okay childhood. My father was an ass and strict, but my mother was really kind. My father was always busy with work, so I mostly spend my time with my mother. I guess that's why we're so close. I never really got along with the other kids my age that well. It's pretty obvious, but I had, have, anger issues, I've been working on it though. My father never really beat me, but that didn't mean he wasn't verbally aggressive. He was always expecting the best out of me — which, to be fair, put a lot of pressure on me at such a young age. I don't really like him to be fair, but he makes my mother happy and treats her well, so I tolerate him." Maxwell rubbed his neck awkward. The truth was, he wanted to change for the girl in front of him. He wanted to be better for her — he thought that was the least he could do.

"What about you? How was yours?" Maxwell said quickly trying to change the topic. He didn't really like talking about his home life, but he knew Willow was curious.

"Well, it was just my mother, Oliver, and I. My father left us after I was born. He left for someone with money — something we didn't have. We were poor, but we were happy. Although we were financially unstable, my mother did her best for us. She never failed to make us laugh. She always had a smile on her face, and put our happiness and needs before her..." Willow said with a smile on her face as she reminisced about the days she had with her mother. It wasn't as painful anymore to talk about her.

"What happened to her?" Maxwell furrowed his eyebrows, noticing that she kept speaking in past tense.

"It was raining hard that day, and she had just gotten out of work. The roads were slippery, so a driver crashed into her — causing both of them to die on impact." She had a saddened expression on her face as she painfully remembered what the police told her in the middle of the night.

"I mean, at least she didn't die a painfully, slow death. Besides, she's in a better place now. But I still miss her."

"Oh, so it's just you and Oliver now?"

"Yeah, even though he's busy, he still makes time for me." She smiles widely.

After finishing their meals, Maxwell left a wad of cash on the table. "Ready baby?" He extended his hand out for his girl to take — she obviously took it.

"I don't understand how you can eat that" Maxwell exclaimed as he took a bite out of his strawberry ice cream.

The couple had decided to go out for ice cream after their meal, and were now walking along the beach. It was peaceful and calming since the beach was nearly empty — the only noises that could be heard were the sounds of waves crashing.

"What do you have against mint chocolate chip?" She asked, scrunching her eyebrows together.

"Everything. Might as well just eat toothpaste and chocolate."

"It's not that bad if you give it a chance. Here try some." Willow said as she took a scoop of her ice cream and brought it to her boyfriend's mouth.

"Hell no." He looked at her as if she was delusional.

"Pleaseee?" She gave him the puppy eyes look.

Finally complying, he ate the scoop off the spoon. "That shit is disgusting." He gagged. "Don't be a such a mint chocolate hater. I really like it." She said as she giggled.

"You know what you'd like better?" Maxwell said as he fought the smile breaking from his face as he made that dirty joke. "Shut up." Willow blushed and punched his arm out of embarrassment.

"Did you just tell me to shut up?" Maxwell said as he feigned sadness, all while trying to fight the smile from breaking out. "Yeah, what are you gonna do about it?" She raised her brow.

"You better run baby. And you better run fast." Maxwell exclaimed as he broke into a smile.

Screaming and running, the two happy couple ran off into the sunset, enjoying their day together.

After all, it is calm before the storm.
