《Unexpected》[17] - sarcasm

Willow woke up in a good mood. As she was getting ready, she couldn't stop smiling. She was more than excited for her date on Saturday. It had been a few days since their encounter at The Oasis, and they have been texting nonstop.

"Willow! Hurry up! You're going to be late!" Willow heard from a distance.

Looking at the time, it was 6:45 am and school starts at 7:20 am.

She quickly got dressed into a purple hoodie along with medium washed denim jeans paired with black vans, she brushed her hair and made sure she had everything she needed.

"Willow!" Oliver yelled from downstairs.

"I'm coming!"

On the table was her breakfast. Oliver had made the two of them bacon, eggs, and toast.

"I have to go Willow, wash the dishes and lock up when you're done. Also here's your lunch." Oliver said as he kissed his sister on the forehead.

After doing the dishes, Willow grabbed her backpack and locked up, heading to school.

It wasn't that cold outside as it was still September. Where she lived, it didn't snow, so she didn't have to worry about walking in the snow. It was breezy today, but the sun was hiding behind the clouds. The sky was cloudy and gray.

As she made it to her locker, she saw Violet and Isaac waiting for her, well they were actually making out on her locker.

"Excuse me. Can you please refrain yourselves from spreading germs on my locker?" Willow asked while laughing.

The two pulled away, Violet was red from embarrassment and quickly apologized, while Isaac was smirking.

Trying to change the topic, Willow asked, "Are you sitting with us today at lunch Isaac?"

"The boys wanted to practice for the game coming up during lunch, so most likely not, but I'll see if I can." Isaac said.

Opening her locker, she grabbed the books she needed for class. Grabbing her notebooks and textbooks, the trio went separate ways as the bell rang.

It was only second period. Today was boring — everyday was. She was watching as the clock moved above the whiteboard.

The teacher had handed out a worksheet because he couldn't be bothered to teach.

Sometimes she wondered how some teachers even get their diplomas when they're just as lazy as students. Why become a teacher if you're not going to do your job?

She watched as the second hand kept moving from one place to the next.

She was broken out of her thoughts when the door suddenly opened.

"Nice to see you join us Dylan and James. Take your seats." The teacher said, not even bothering to scowl them, and handing them today's assignment.

Yup, she had second period with Dylan and James.

Willow sat in the middle and they sat at the back. Bringing her attention back to the clock, she felt eyes burning the back of her head.

Ignoring it, she decided to continue her work before the bell rang.

Her phone silently vibrated, signaling that she had gotten a text.

Hey beautiful. How's your day?

Hello. Boring, I'm in second period right now.

Maxwell always made sure he texted her everyday, and she couldn't be more happy. Every time he texted her, she couldn't help, but smile.

Forty minutes later, the bell finally rang.

Willow ran out of the classroom when she heard Dylan and James calling for her. She ended up being the first one out.

"Holy shit!" Violet said.

Willow had told her best friend everything at lunch, from bumping into him to him apologizing.

Saying she was shocked would be an understatement.

"Maxwell? Maxwell Moreno?" Violet asked cluelessly.

"No Max from Max and Ruby. Yes Maxwell Moreno." Willow said sarcastically.

"Sarcasm is not needed babe." She said as she rolled her eyes. To which Willow replied, "It is always needed."

"Anyways moving on... Do you know what they say about him? I don't think it's a good idea Willow."

"I know. Oli said the same thing, but he agreed to let me go and Maxwell said that if I'm ever uncomfortable, he would take me home. He seems genuine and you know Oliver. He would hurt him if he ever hurt me." Willow said, trying to persuade her best friend.

"Okay Willow. Just be careful alright? And tell me how it goes!" Sighing, she decided to support her choice. She noticed how happy Willow was when she mentioned him and she wanted nothing more than happiness for Willow.
