[Alright, so back at it again with another Daredevil update, and with that probably comes a good 9000 or so words for every chapter... Don't know about 12000 words again but who knows, maybe for Endgame. Also, just to state. Just so you guys know. So with that being said, let's get right into it.]

[Note: Took a few days off to just relax and leave Wattpad for a bit, that's why this came out Wednesday instead of last Saturday.]

The sound of distant chatter and car horns filled the distant air as all piece ran over the small city that was Lagos. But unknowingly to the unsuspecting crowd was the appearance of The Avengers, all of which were wearing normal clothes in an attempt to blend in with the crowd. In all honesty, (Y/n) liked it. Sure, it wasn't New York, but it was quiet... and that was never a bad thing. Though it wasn't long before Cap's voice came suddenly over the radio.

Steve: "All right, what do you see?"

(Y/n): "Not much. But thanks for asking."

He said with a smirk as (Y/n) took a drink from his coffee.

Steve: "...I didn't mean you, (Y/n). Wanda?"

Wanda: "Standard beat cops. Small station. Quiet street. It's a good target."

Steve: "There's an ATM in the south corner, which means...?"

Wanda: "Cameras."

(Y/n): "You know, Steve, when you asked to come out of my busy schedule to help you deal with the rookies on a mission... I expected a little more then just... 'Cameras'."

A small chuckle escaped Natasha's lips as she took a drink from her own coffee. Currently herself, along with (Y/n) and Wanda sat quietly in undercover clothes in a cafe; a cafe that so happened to be directly across from a police station.

Nat: "Oh, and please tell us (Y/n), what is the busy schedule of Daredevil like these days? Fighting thugs?"

(Y/n): "Up until recently...? Yes."

Wanda: "What happened recently?"

(Y/n): "Oh, you know, an ex-soldier with PTSD that had his family killed during the middle of a drug war so he decided to take matters into his own hands and kill every criminal he comes across... and if that wasn't enough, he does so while wearing a skull on his chest."

A wave of silence runs over the radio as everyone tries to take in everything (Y/n) had just said. But the first one to speak was Sam aka Falcon, who currently stood on the roof across waiting patiently for his cue to chime in, however he completely forgot about remaining silent as soon as he heard (Y/n) speak.

Sam: "Okay, am I the only one here who thinks for a supposed 'Street-Level hero' he deals with the craziest people?"

Wanda: "I don't know, I heard a lot of girls talking about Daredevil in my yoga class the other day. I don't think he's 'Street-Level' anymore."

Wanda sent (Y/n) a smile which he returned. However as this happened Natasha watched the seen with a hint of jealousy behind her eyes. Thankfully Steve was there to get things back on track.

Steve: [Coughs] "Anyway, back to the mission. Both cross streets are one way. Which means?"

Wanda Maximoff: "Compromised escape routes?"

Steve: "Means our guy doesn't care about being seen, he isn't afraid to make a mess on the way out."

(Y/n): "Who doesn't these days?" 

Steve: "You see that Range Rover halfway up the block?"

Wanda: "Yeah, the red one? It's cute."

Natasha: [on radio] "It's also bulletproof, which means private security, which means more guns, which means more headaches for somebody. Probably us."

Wanda: "You guys know I can move things with my mind, right?"

Natasha: "Looking over your shoulder needs to become second nature."

Sam: "Not (Y/n). He know's exactly how to play 'the game' when it comes to bars and girls. Ain't that right, Ketchup?"

A sigh escapes (Y/n)'s lips at Sam's weak nickname. But the words of Sam definitely caught the attention of two people currently sitting next to the Daredevil of Hell's Kitchen.

Nat: [Pulls out her earpiece and turns to you] "You're dating again?"

(Y/n): "U-Uh, well... I wouldn't exactly c-call it dating, more so-Wait... Why do you care?"

Nat: "(Y/n), we dated, not for long... but we dated. Besides, the last time I remember you broke up with me because you didn't want to put me in danger, danger I could damn well handle myself in."

Yep, Natasha was still not fully over the break-up, part of (Y/n) hoped she would have been by now. To be honest (Y/n) only went to those bars with Sam because he insisted (Y/n) get out more. After everything with The Punisher and Elektra showing back up it really threw a curve ball at (Y/n), but when Sam heard about it, he thought that the best way to treat a crazy life with daredevil was to go out drinking... and that's what they did.

(Y/n): [Sighs] "Listen, Nat, my life has been in a complicated spot lately. So if its fine with you, I'd rather get this mission over with and return to being a lawyer before we fight."

Nat: "Fight? Who said anything about fight? All I'm asking is who'd you rather date then me? Wanda? I mean, I know you two kissed while we were technically still dating, that hurts by the way, but I mean seriously, who'd you rather date?"

A crazy/lonely look resignation within Natasha's eyes as she looked over at (Y/n), missing the short amount of time she shared with him. Wanda noticed this look too, and slightly felt bad she had kissed (Y/n) back in Sokovia, but since then, for some reason, she didn't want to kiss anyone but (Y/n), and found it a little hard to bare when she heard Sam mention (Y/n) going to bars and talking to girls. Thankfully once more Steve was the voice to regain everyone's attention onto the current matter at hands.

Steve: "All right, folks. This is the best lead we've had on Rumlow in six months. I don't want to lose him."

Sam: "If he sees us coming that won't be a problem. He kind of hates us.

(Y/n): [Grins] "Ah, yes, Brock Rumlow, the man you blew up a building o--"

All of the sudden (Y/n) cuts himself off and tilts his head in the direction of the busy street as the sound of car horns grew louder.

Wanda: "(Y/n)? What is it?"

(Y/n): "A garbage truck, pushing it's way through the street. There's a man inside, his heart is beating way to fast, and...-[Tilts his head a little harder to the left]-...he's got a gun."

And surely enough a garbage truck is pushing its way through traffic, with no regard to pedestrians or other vehicles.

Steve: "Sam, tag it."

From the back of Sam's Falcon jet pack, a small drone, launches and flies down to scan the garbage truck. The small screen on Sam;s wrist proceeds to show's "Cargo Weight: 13825 kgs. Max capacity."

Sam Wilson: That truck's loaded for max weight. And...the driver's armed. (Y/n)! Seriously man, how do you do that?"

(Y/n): [Grins] "Paid attention in school; ate my orange vegetables; got hit by a truck carrying toxic waste. Oh, also... the trucks a battering ram."

Steve: "Go now."

Wanda: "What?"

Steve: "(Y/n)'s right. He's not hitting the police."

Just up the road at the Institute for Infectious Diseases a man is sitting in the guard station. He looks over as the garbage truck is coming towards the gate when suddenly the driver jumps out, and the truck slams into the gateway. With the damage done the stone archway covering the entrance smashes into each other before two trucks rush into the compound through the newly-made entrance.

As the trucks comes to a stop soldiers in black armor emerge from the trucks, firing their rifles around the courtyard. Four soldiers fire gas canisters into the building. Soldiers wearing gas masks proceed to enter. But as Crossbones disappears through the smoke in the building, both (Y/n) and Cap arrive on the scene, with the former now where his Daredevil get-up. Steve is the first to land and takes out two guards, one with his shield and taking out the other but booting the hood of a car directly into their body.

Steve: "Body armor, AR-15's. I make seven hostiles."

Just then (Y/n) jumps over Cap and sends his Billy clubs flying towards two stone pillars. At first they miss the guards but soon ricochet and hit the opposite guard, causing them both to drop to the ground.

(Y/n): "Make that five."

Wanda arrives and flies over the rooftop and into the courtyard, blocking fire with her powers. She takes control of one soldier and lifts him upward.

Wanda: "(Y/n)."

(Y/n) soon comes jumping through the air and punches the guard Wanda was holding and hits him to the ground. After landing (Y/n) turns to Wanda and smirks, as he does so the guard proceeds to get up and goes to fire upon (Y/n), but thanks to his enhanced senses he was able to realize this long ago. In the end all it took was a simple ricochet off the ground with his Billy club and the guard was next passed out on the ground.

(Y/n): "Four."

Sam's drone soon flies by (Y/n) and Wanda and begins scanning the inside of the building.

Sam Wilson: "Rumlow's on the third floor."

(Y/n)/Steve: "I got him."

The two come to standstill and turn to look at one another before Steve reluctantly shakes his head as (Y/n) smirks.

Steve: "Wanda, just like we practiced."

Wanda: "What about the gas?"

Steve Rogers: "Get it out."

Wanda uses her powers to lift Steve up and through the window. He grabs a soldier and pulls off their gas mask. All the while (Y/n) looks a little disappointed that he has to take the long route up, so he begins by grabbing on a nearby ledge before parkouring up the side of the building before sending both his Billy clubs into the mist of poisonous gas. Thanks to his senses (Y/n) artistically takes out four armored men without even looking, the satisfying thuds of their bodies hitting the ground quickly filling his ears. As this happens Rumlow punches down the door to a lab in the back. He knocks aside a technician and enters a room with a container labeled "bio-hazard."

Rumlow: "Pack it up."

In another area, Steve is behind a pillar with (Y/n) in the exact same situation opposite him. The two nod at one another before Steve throws his shield and (Y/n) doing the same with his Billy club. Both bounce off the ground and hit the same soldier before returning to their respective owners. Meanwhile, Wanda is now using her powers to remove the gas from the building. Sam is exchanging fire with several soldiers. As this happens Rumlow walks outside onto a balcony and sees that the Avengers have arrived.

Rumlow: "He's here."

Back inside the building, Steve and (Y/n) enter the back lab. Immediately (Y/n) rushes to check on the technicians lying on the ground while Steve sees the vial missing.

Steve: "Rumlow has a biological weapon."

(Y/n): "I've got it."

Immediately (Y/n) rushes back into the corridor before jumping out the window Steve broke in earlier. During the air he front flipped before landing atop a solider which he quickly takes out. Two more soldiers come at (Y/n) from the side, but their easily taken out when he grabs the barrels of their guns before sending them smacking into one anthers faces. Immediately following this (Y/n) tilts his head to hear the sound of Natasha grunting, currently she was in a fight with Rumlow who comes up behind her and grabs her collar, dragging her onto an armored vehicle. She tries electrocuting him in the neck, but all Rumlow does is look down at her and chuckles menacingly.

Rumlow: "I don't work like that no more."

He throws her through the roof hatch into an armored vehicle, drops in a grenade, and shuts the hatch. Just then (Y/n) comes flying in and tackles Rumlow off the roof and onto the ground where the two proceed to tumble and turn before coming to a standstill where they hold one another by the throats.

(Y/n): [Struggles to speak] "I-Is that suppose to be a skull on your head?"

Rumlow: "Y-Yeah. Why?"

(Y/n): "N-No reason. I-It's just... I've seen a lot of that lately."

Quickly (Y/n) throws Rumlow off him but is soon forced to retreat when he pulls out three grenades and tosses them at (Y/n). As Rumlow jumps into a car Steve runs out onto the balcony and spots Rumlow.

Steve: "Sam. He's in an AFV heading north."

Inside the AFV, Rumlow secures the biological weapon in a container and hands it to a soldier.

Rumlow: "Take this to the airstrip. We're not gonna outrun them. Lose the truck."

The truck crashes into a nearby structure and Rumlow and the soldiers emerge.

Mercenary #1: "Where are you going to meet us?"

Rumlow: "I'm not."

As the mercenaries and Rumlow head separate ways in a marketplace, Sam lands on the roof of a structure where he proceeds to scan the area with his goggles.

Sam Wilson: "I got four, they're splitting up."

(Y/n): "We got this."

Immediately (Y/n) and Natasha rides through the crowd with the former hugging his ex-girlfriends waist while sitting being her on her motorcycle. The two quickly abandon it and start running across the hoods of cars in pursuit.

Natasha: "I got the two on the left."

(Y/n): "I'll go after Rumlow."

The two go separate ways with (Y/n) eventually linking up with Steve who notices the Mercenaries have ditched their gear.

Steve: "They ditched their gear. It's a shell game now. One of them has the payload."

Immediately after saying this someone throws a bomb at Steve, but before it can reach Captain America, (Y/n) jumps in the way and kicks the bomb into the air and listens for it to detonate safely away from citizens. Rumlow suddenly comes up behind Steve and punches him in the back.

Rumlow: "There you are, you son of a bitch. I've been waiting for this!"

(Y/n) goes to intervene but is soon signaled by Cap to help the others, which he soon does. Within minutes (Y/n) is chasing the other mercenaries along with Sam and Nat. Sam flies up and takes out his two, then searches their bags for the payload. When he realizes his two guys don't have it, (Y/n) continues on his current path by chasing his guy through the crowd.

(Y/n): [Waves at the civilians] "Out of the way!"

He proceeds to leap forward and tackles one soldier and engages him in combat. When the other soldier arrives, (Y/n grabs a nearby basket and hurls it at him to distract him long enough for him to take out one mercenary before eventually ending face to face with the the main mercenary. He aims his gun at (Y/n). A moment passes. Then, the other soldier produces the vial.

Mercenary #1: "Drop it. Drop your weapon. Or I'll drop this. Drop it!"

Mercenary #2: "He'll do it!"

(Y/n) just looks at the two and grins before dropping his Billy club to the ground. But it is soon shown that he didn't need a weapon because within half a second both thugs were on the ground unconscious with (Y/n) holding the vial in his hand.

(Y/n): "Payload secure. Here, Sam, catch."

He then throws the vial into the air just as Sam flies by and catches it allowing (Y/n) to run off towards the action where Steve and Rumlow are still fighting, neither one seeming to have the upper hand.

Rumlow: "Come on!"

Rumlow pins Steve to a building and extends a blade from one of his gauntlets.

Rumlow: "This is for dropping a building on my face."

Steve grabs Rumlow's arm and pulls the gauntlet off, only for Rumlow to reveal another knife. But before anything could happen (Y/n) comes flying in and boot Rumlow's face with both of his feet sending Rumlow to roll into the middle opening of the marketplace. Defeated, on his knees, Rumlow removes his mask, revealing a scarred face.

Rumlow: "You just can't mind your own business, can you, Devil boy?"

(Y/n): [Grins] "No, not really. Hey, quick question, which moisturizer do you use to keep your skin so clean?"

Rumlow: "I think I look pretty good, all things considered."

Steve: [Walks up next to (Y/n)] "Who's your buyer?"

Rumlow: "You know, he knew you. You pal, your buddy, your Bucky."

(Y/n) quickly turns to Steve, but only sees a face of confusion, but whoever this Bucky was... Cap seemed interested to say the least.

Steve: "What did you say?"

Rumlow: "He remembered you. I was there. He got all weepy about it. Till they put his brain back in a blender. He wanted you to know something. He said to me, 'Please tell Rogers. When you gotta go, you gotta go.' And I guess you both are coming with me."

Suddenly Rumlow presses a button and activates his bomb vest. Immediately (Y/n)'s eyes go wide and Steve flinches as Rumlow's armor ignites. But suddenly Wanda comes flying in, screaming (Y/n)'s name as she keeps the blast contained around Rumlow's body with red chaotic magic. Rumlow who grimaces in agony. Unfortunately, Wanda couldn't contain it for long and is forced to throw Rumlow into the air as high as she could. But she doesn't get him high enough and eventually she does lose control, and the explosion finally ignites, destroying entire floors of a nearby building. 

Wanda sees what happened and is scarred by it, covering her mouth in agony. (Y/n), too, is struck by the blast, though whereas he couldn't see it the sound instantly impacted his ears to the point he struggled to hear anything. All he could do was tirelessly flail his body around as the weak sounds of screaming and the rocketing of Wanda's heartbeat filled his ears. All he could do was grasp his head in pain as a blaring echo cover everything around him, even his senses went haywire.

Silence ran throughout Avengers Headquarters after the events in Lagos remained freshly spliced upon the minds of every single one of the Avengers. In (Y/n)'s old room, the aforementioned Daredevil could be seen sitting on his bed as a news report played on the TV; and even though he couldn't see, (Y/n) had always been good at hearing, though this time he wasn't sure if he wanted to hear what was being said.

Female News Anchor: [Through TV] "11 Wakandans were among those killed during a confrontation... between the Avengers and a group of mercenaries... in Lagos, Nigeria last month. The traditionally reclusive Wakandans were on an outreach mission in Lagos when the attack occurred."

The broadcast switches to King T'Chaka speaking in front of a bunch of reporters.

King T'Chaka: "Our people's blood was spilled on foreign soil... not only because of the actions of criminals, but by the indifference of those pledged to stop them. Victory at the expanse of the innocent... is no victory at all."

Before the report can continue (Y/n) turns it off and sighs. Thoughts of regret and the idea of 'what if...?' crossed (Y/n)'s mind as the memories of the event played through his mind once more. But his thoughts are soon drawn elsewhere when the sound of the same report could be heard coming down the hall, more partially, from Wanda's room. Slowly (Y/n) gets to his feet and slowly enters the hallway, continuing down the narrow path before eventually arriving at Wanda's bedroom door where the Sokovian born female could be seen sitting on the edge of her bed, reluctantly listening to the news broadcast.

(Y/n): "If they knew what having powers like you truly mean't... they wouldn't be talking the way they are."
