《The Asshole with a Motorcycle》Some Things Happen For A Reason

As the weeks went by, things started getting weird.
My father had been quiet for the last few days, no fights and I was getting worried something was wrong. The rest of my family had been acting strange. They had been in my room, looking though my stuff, my desk, even my bathroom once.
At Jay's, things were weird too. His dad was searching though things as well. When he went to his mom's, she was pushing and asking about things she should know. Like where he lived, who I was, where our school was.
When he came back home, his room had been trashed. He's dad was no where to be found, so Jay assumed he was looking for money and brushed it off. But, why my family was in my stuff, it was beyond me.
Finally one morning I discovered what was going on. And I really wish I hadn't.
"Ellie, we need to go." Malayeka said behind me, I was half way though doing my hair.
"Wait where-" before I could question it, we were standing in an opened field, along with Jay.
"What the hell?" Jay asked. "My dad just came home and if I'm not there-"
"Just here me out." Malayeka said. "That's not actually your dad."
"What?" Jay asked.
"Okay so, remember when I said that I wanted to save Jay?" She asked.
"Yea." We nodded.
"Well, I wasn't suppose to be watching you at all. You were suppose to go on living your life slightly differently. I snuck away to help Jay and now my brothers are coming after me." She rung her hands together. "They took your fathers as vessels."
"Our dad's, angels? pff." I said crossing my arms over my chest.
"It was last minute desperation. They needed someone close to you both so they could get to me." She said. "But, now I fear they may be after you too."

"So that's why they have been acting weird with us." Jay rolled his eyes. "What do we do?"
"Get out of here, fast." She said and went to grab my hand.
"Wait." I pulled away. "They are going to kill you?"
"I think that may be the most likely option. I disobeyed and interfered with the human order." She shook her head, tears falling. "They won't stand for rebels."
"Then I'm not leaving you." I gripped her hand. "You're our friend, I'm not gonna let you die."
"Ellie, that's sweet but.." Before she could finish, two male voices spoke in unison on either side of is.
"Elenora and Jason. Step away from Malayeka." They said.
When I turned to look, our fathers stood on either sides, looking the same as usual, but their eyes were glowing a blinding white.
"No." I stood blocking my father from the quivering angel, Jay stood blocking her from his.
"Ellie don't do this..." She begged behind us.
"No." I said fighting back tears, I was terrified. I might lose the best person I ever met, and die as well. Jay grabbed my hand and gave me a reassuring squeeze.
"Fine." My father raised his hands and both of us flew to the side, landing hard on the ground a few metres away.
I tried to get up as fast as could. I got up just in time so see them grab Malayeka and pull a blade out from their pockets.
I ran as fast I could back over to them, Jay screaming behind me to stop.
I ran in front of Jay's dad, who was raising his hand to stab her.
"Please. Please don't, she saved a life, how could you kill her?" I begged.

"She is a rebel. We can't have rebels running around this earth." Jay's father spoke.
I looked at him then kicked him in the balls. As he doubled over in pain, Jay ran over and grabbed Malayeka just as my dad decided to take a swing.
We fell to the side, gripped the angel, now lighter than ever.
When I pulled my hand away from the shoulder I was holding, it was slick with blood. We set her down gently on the grass, unable to hold her anymore. My father had struck her in the shoulder. We weren't fast enough.
"No no no.." I said as I looked at the light fading from Malayeka's eyes. "You can't die."
"Please." She gasped, grabbing our arms. "You need to leave, they'll kill you too."
"We aren't leaving you here. We can get you patched up." Jay encouraged from the other side.
"No. This I wound even our miracles can't heal." She gasped.
We were so caught up with Malayeka, we never even saw my father plunge the blade into her heart before it was too late.
Her eyes and mouth emitted a piercing while light that blinded us. I buried my head in grass beside Malayeka. The light seem to burn my back.
So I screamed. I screamed in pain, in grief, in anger.
Finally the light died down and standing over us were our fathers.
"We can't let you get away with witnessing this act. But we can not scrub your souls completely clean, now with mark of a fallen on you." Jay's father spoke. "But instead of killing you, we'll now send you back to your original timeline."
Before Jay and I could ask any more questions, they touched our foreheads and everything went black.
I was sitting English class again, listening to Jay drown on about all the girls he got on his bike and how the angel wing tattoo on his back always won them over.
I had one too, I'm not sure where from or even when I got it. It just appeared one day. It was a painful memory, but I can't remember any images. But the only sound I could remember was a high pitches frequency that hurt my ears.
Two days later Jay offered me a ride home on his motorbike.
Roughly a month after that, Jay Stevenson died in a motorcycle accident because we wasn't paying attention and was driving recklessly.
I warned him.
He promised.
And I hate him for that.

Re: Dragonize
After an unexpected turn of events, Drew must now survive in a world full of challenges with life-or-death stakes. Gone are the days when the biggest problems to face were awkward small-talk at physics department luncheons or mountains of lab work; this former physicist is now adrift in an unfamiliar land without any equipment. Now, Drew's only tool (if it can be called that) is a System, which provides constant reminders of all of the things that are still out of reach for a low-level being who's just arrived in a new world. Luckily, Drew has one powerful asset when taking on the challenges of this new world: surviving violent conflict is a lot easier when you have the power of a dragon at your disposal. Still, Drew has always considered violence a last resort. Why turn to fists (or claws) when a bit of quiet consideration might expose a better path forward? Maybe a life of quiet contemplation is still within reach for this former academic researcher. ...Or maybe not. It probably won't be a life of bloodless pacifism. Additional information for those who wish to calibrate their expectations (I'm adding this based on a few comments I received from readers who feel that the story is not what they expected from a dragon-themed story): Re: Dragonize is not a power fantasy -- or at least, it's not intended to be one. Re: Dragonize is a progression fantasy starting with a protagonist who must start at the bottom (or close to it), and work gradually upwards, making incremental progress with plenty of setbacks along the way. The protagonist, as someone coming from the world of academia, tends to be cautious, methodical, and contemplative. As such, expect this story to contain more than a few digressions as the main character takes the time to pontificate on a variety of topics ranging from Newtonian physics and horology to the nature of existence and the ethical dilemmas associated with being an obligate carnivore.

The day they became Mortal
Paladins and Vampires have always been sworn enemies. While the Paladins were blessed with the power of Apollo, made to heal and to wield the power of light itself, the vampires were immortal beings with heightened senses, strength and speed. For centuries the two lived in general peace, while the paladins built their kingdom Appollis, the vampires resided in the sanguine lands of Sareth. All changed however when an unknown paladin poisoned the special water supply of the vampires with Blackrye, a plant that to the vampire's horror removed their right to eternal life. No longer protected from illness or the relentlessness of time the vampires were forced to indulge in more blood. Soon enough a war broke out between the two kingdoms, a war that would cost the life of King Barron of Appollis and the sanity of Queen Diana of Sareth. Their heirs were too young to ascend the throne, forcing the two kingdoms to hastily form a truce until both princes were old enough to rule their lands. Five years after the blood war Arrin of Appollis and Ophyr of Sareth rule their respective kingdoms, despite having been kings for a few years and heavily disliking each other due to their past, they decided to keep the truce in place. What happens however when Arrin decides to kidnap the vampire king after he unfortunately stumbled upon Appollonian terrain?

Reincarnated As A Benevolent Tyrant
NOTICE: This story is under rewrite. New novel has been published. Search **RE: Tyranny** in Royalroad for the new novel.Link- Re: Tyranny Thank You! ------------------------ "Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory." What a brilliant line, isn't it? James was a boy who had nothing to worry about. A happy family, a nice childhood. What's more to ask? But one day, everything changed. He lost everything in the blink of an eye. The only thing left for him were the memories and dreams of the past. Trying to cope up with the loss, he cut all ties with the outside world and became a shut-in, having no one left to call his own or to rely upon. There was nothing left for him in this world, but still he lived and soon found a purpose in his life, which lead him to create something that could change the world. And on the very day when his dream project was about to come to the light, he lost his life, trying to save a little girl from an unfortunate accident. "Will I ever be remembered...? I wish... someone would." These were the last word James mumbled before his conscious faded into darkness. But his life didn't end there, as he is transmigrated into the body of an arrogant, worthless Duke's son in some unknown land with no memories about who is or any idea about where he is. In an era of political turmoil and civil strife, the Duke's son is forced to prove his worth for inheriting the title. Will he be able to accept the new reality and prove himself by leading this country into a prosperous future? Or will he cease to the pressure of his past and lose everything once more? Disclaimer: This is not a power-fantasy or a 'feel-good' story. If you feel a protagonist should never lack agency (especially in early story) or make compromises because of difficult circumstances, then this fiction is probably not for you. It is a story that delves deep into real world sociological/psychological subjects and explores many topics of gray morality. I wrote it because I like stories that make me think more about the world around us, not to detach myself from reality. Some aspects you can expect based on the tags include:- [Kingdom Building]: political drama, geopolitical/geoeconomic strategy- [Army Building]: massive battles featuring in-depth planning, combined arms, and operational logistics- [Identity Crisis]: someone translated into a whole different world having to rebuild their identity and life aims The story starts off slowly, more like a slice of life than action-adventure, but I guarantee you it will get there. For those who want to skip the slow part, start from Chapter - 35 (Beginning of The End) (The whole Disclaimer section is copied from Aorii as I am too busy writing the complete story.) And yes, just for General Knowledge, James will become OP throughout the story. He is not some legendary guy who will pull out Excalibur & conquer the entire world. Update Schedule - One chapter a day. This novel is also available on Scribble Hub. And again, I humbly thank you for reading it. I hope you stick throughout the journey.
