"Min- Wait, what are you doing?" I asked as his face came closer to mine, his nose touching mine.
"Hmm?" He said, smiling. I felt his breath on my face, and I immediately turned bright red and tried to look away.
Minho turned my face back to look at him, smirking a little.
"I've thought about you- ever since I made that stupid phone call..." He said, which made me bite my lip subconsciously, and I saw him smirk even wider as I looked into his eyes.
"Oh yeah, that stupid phone call-" I said, moving my arms out of his grasp, but Minho held them by my side, his hand lacing with mine.
"I can't stop thinking about you." He said.
"Well obviously- I'm Dami's teacher." I said, he shook his head.
"You know what I mean-" He said, as he brushed his lips over mine.
"Well- you are very drunk..." I said, my heart fluttering.
To be honest, I couldn't smell any alcohol on him, he probably didn't have any, or just a little.
"I'm sober-" He said, putting his arms around my waist.
"Hmm-" I said skeptically but then he kissed me.
Like.
Full on kissed me.
"Minho- what are you doing?" I said, pushing him away slightly.
"Ssh-" He said, and I melted when his hands touched my cheek.
He pressed his lips up against mine, pulling my face close to his and the butterflies in my stomach only increased.
"And you said you weren't dating?" Chan's voice said from beside us.
I turned to face him, mouth dropping as he smirked at the both of us.
I didn't say anything because I was embarrassed, but Minho chuckled.
"Channie-hyung, please go away..."
"I was just seeing the birthday boy- but he seems to be pre-occupied." He said, winking at me before walking off.
"Now- where were we?" He asked, leading me to the corner of his living room.
"Minho- stop." I said, as he kissed my forehead.
"Why?" He pouted, which made my heart jump a little bit.
"I'm sorry-" I said, running off.
"ANNIE!" Minho shouted, but I didn't turn back and I left the apartment.

Fuck. Why did I screw it up?
My heart was beating so fast, and I had to stop walking for a second to breath before entering my apartment.
I lay down on my bed, covering my face with my hands.
"ARGH!" I shouted into my pillow.
"Fuck. Fuck, fuck." I said, almost crying, because I'm so stupid with feelings.
Well, with Minho.
It wasn't until Saturday afternoon that I got up, smelling coffee.
Did someone break in?
I quickly walked into the living room, holding a broom.
"Morning Annie-"
I turned around to see Minho holding two mugs, one red and another green.
"How did you-?" I asked.
"I have the key remember?" He said, chuckling as he handed me the red mug and pulled the key out from his pocket.
"Why did you run away?" He asked, sitting down on the sofa.
"Sorry-"
"MISS WANG!" Dami shouted as she entered the room from the kitchen.
Minho took a deep breath, like he was annoyed, as Dami sat on his lap.
"Dami-ah..." I said, looking at Minho who looked at me with sad eyes.
"Yes?"
"Watch TV, your dad and I are just going to talk in the kitchen-" I said, "Just for a few minutes."
I got up, Minho did too and followed me into the kitchen.
"I'm sorry for running away-" I said, "I didn't know what to do..."
"But you've had boyfriends before?"
"Yeah- but this is different." I said, looking down and playing with my hands.
"How?"
"You make- it just is-" I said, looking him in the eyes and he smiled.
"I like you Miss Annie Wang." He said.
"You think I didn't know that?"
He scoffed, which made me laugh too.
"Let me take you out on a date."
"When?"
"You agree?"
"Why not? If we're getting food, it's even better."
"Restaurant, we'll choose later."
"What about Dami?"
"I'll send her to Chan's."
"Where does he live?" I asked, Minho's hands wrapped around mine.
"Just half an hour away." He smiled and kissed my cheek.

I turned bright red which made him smirk.
"Alright then." I said, pulling away and leaving the kitchen.
"Do you want to go to Chan's later?"
"UNCLE CHAN AND AUNTIE MINHEE!"
"And Felix, don't forget Felix." I said, chuckling.
"Of course- FELIX-OPPA!" She said, giggling.
"Why am I going by myself?"
"Miss Wang and I are going out." Minho replied, standing in the doorway.
"ON A DATE?"
"You could call it that." Minho said, winking at me.
"FINALLY! I WILL HAVE THE BEST MUM EVER!"
"Aish- I'm not your mum darling." I said to her but she just giggled.
"I wish-" She said, folding her arms.
"Do you guys need to do anything today?"
"Homework-" Dami moaned.
"Rightly so- I shall not be helping you, Min- help your daughter with her homework." I told him, and he chuckled.
"I will- if she ever tells me what it is."
As Dami and Minho talked about her homework, which was just a few multiplication and division questions, I went to the kitchen to eat my breakfast, consisting of a small bowl of cereals and a banana.
"How's your ex-wife?" I asked Minho as he walked in the kitchen alone.
"She's in a care home at the moment."
"Do you still love her?"
"No- I did, but now, no. I have to keep in touch and talk to her because of Dami- but no... I don't love her." He said, enunciating the last clause as he looked at me.
"Alright-" I said, believing him as my eyes met his and I heard loud thumping noises coming from my chest.
I looked around my kitchen, smiling at the picture of the four of us; Jackson, Mum, Dad and I. I was hugging onto my Dad's leg as Jackson hugged Mum's waist. Only a few years before her sudden death, well, I say sudden but she had brain cancer.
I miss mum a lot.
"Is this you when you were a child?" Minho asked, giggling, which caught me completely off guard and I choked a little on my cereal.
"Yeah- my mum, dad and Jack." I said, laughing a little, remembering exactly when the picture was taken.
It was a November morning in the park, back in Hong Kong, and the leaves had all fallen, everything was lit with an orangey brown glow and it smelt like chestnuts.
"Dad! LOOK! A SQUIRREL!"
"What should we name him?" My dad asked, bending down to my height as we watched the cute squirrel scurry across the paths and grass.
"JISUNG!" I said, and my dad chuckled.
"Jisung it is." My dad laughed along before we caught up with Jack and mum who were feeding the ducks.
I noticed I was crying lightly, two tears falling down each of my cheeks as I tried to hold it back.
"Annie-" Minho whispered, pulling me into a hug.
"I miss them all-" I said into his chest.
I miss seeing Jackson all the time, and his goofiness. Now he's always away, doing things he loves which is amazing, but I wish I could spend more time with him.
I miss my mum, cuddling her and baking with her in the winter when the snow outside our house was too thick to open the door. She always made the best chocolate and peanut butter cookies, I miss those too.
I miss my dad, how he used to be so relaxed and caring towards Jack and I. Now all he seems to care about his new family, completely forgetting about us, even pushing Changbin aside though he was part of the new family.
"Can we phone Jackson or something? Or go see your dad? Or- write a letter to your mum?" Minho asked, rubbing my back as I cried softly.
I shook my head.
"I'll phone Jackson when he's free."
"What about your dad then?"
"I'll deal with him later."
"Do it now- you're doing nothing else today, so why not do it now?"
"Minho-"
"I'm going to help Dami- just phone him goddmanit-" He said, kissing my temple for a few seconds before leaving for the living room.
I got out my phone, and took a deep breath before calling his number.

BODY&SHADOW
AN ILLUSTRATED NOVEL • UPDATES TUESDAY AND FRIDAY In a time before living memory, the King Dragon of the Void watched the world and realized there was a crack. He realized that humanity was destroying the rock upon which they lived; they leaked life’s code into the churning chaos. At first the change was imperceptible: nanites overtook microorganisms, bacteria, viruses, amoebas. Insects became increasingly inorganic; birds and lizards followed soon after. Even humans were infected by their own advances, cell by cell, till there was not a person left on earth who wasn’t at least part synthetic, the product of a prior generation’s carelessness. The world’s population was ravaged by mechanical viruses with no vaccines; they were mercilessly overtaken by bacteria that knew no death. Soon, most of the planet was empty and only a handful remained who remembered the hedonist realm they came from; only a few were left who remembered what the world looked like when their buildings touched the sky. The King Dragon of the Void watched the rock turn. He watched humans cower as the Old World fell down around them; watched their great monuments crumble into dusty ruins; watched their codes become precious, ancient gem memories forged under the crushing pressure of so many fallen stones. The world has spun many times around the sun since chaos swallowed man whole. It is a simpler time than the one that died out, but the people now are not immune to the folly of the people before. There is old code everywhere: in the water, in the air, in the trees. The heart of man has been replaced by power cores, many of which are hard-coded with preternatural abilities—when they die, an esoteric mountain sect collects their cores and stores them in their hollow mountain home to preserve the sanctity and dignity of human death. They’ve learned to harness artifacts of the old world, gemstones full of codes their nanite infused bodies can parse as spells imbuing their users with great power; they inlay them into their bodies, into their skins, connected to their cores by copper conduit and gold tracers; they dress themselves in tattoos to advertise their prowess; they battle for relics in arenas, fight for them in the open world wherever they are found. The King Dragon of the Void watches the rock turn and wonders: when will this hunger finally make the rock stop spinning? WELCOME TO FANXING CITY … Twenty-five years ago, Fanxing City and the surrounding lands were commanded by the mad King Zao Beiguan. For many years, the King hoarded wealth, artifacts, food; he demanded tribute from a people already taxed to the edges of their existence and expected they be happy with their circumstances. Noncompliance was often punished harshly, bodies displayed proudly on Fanxing’s streets as a warning, from the city gates to the Zao palace’s golden doors. The youths of several prominent clans came together to overthrow the tyrant and made names for themselves as legendary heroes across the land: Tian, Ren, Feng, Gui, Ma, and Zhenxi. Even wanderers from the Luanshi sect descended from Yunji mountain to aid the rebellion. When the dust settled after three years, Tian Yunyong ascended the throne of Fanxing and swore to honour his slain father’s memory, and has maintained Fanxing’s peace with generosity and mercy where fear and cruelty once reigned.

The Many Blades of Wuxia
Hundreds of years after the Heretic wars ended, life has returned to its blissful ignorant state that only peace could bring. Whilst the never-ending war between Man, Beast and Mutant rages on, most are not even aware of a war that happened between men. Its prophecies shattered, their remnants surviving only in obscure bard tales. One is about to grow. On the cracked face of the world, Essence storms and Beast Waves keep the citizenry locked atop the Emperor city of Qaelang. Knowledge of the past is as rare as the metals that flow into the hands of Sacred Artists and at the root of it all are whispers of a malignant force, ancient and terrible. Holding humanity back from achieving greatness, but hiding too are secrets best left untouched. Balance, discipline and order have held Qaelang secure since time immemorial, the powers within claiming to adhere to them. None are more fearful of change than the ones with the most to lose, but change is coming. Blade of Wuxia is a long character-focused epic fantasy with progression and growth. It's about a boy's quest to become powerful enough to save those he cares most for and give them a better life. It's set in a world of hidden pasts and uncovering them will set him on a path that shakes the Empire. As this is a rewrite that took on a wildly different spin, reviews are most welcome and help me do better. What can the reader expect? A Wuxia society set in a High fantasy world. People are only doing what they know and may have mistaken beliefs. A clever resourceful protagonist with human flaws A far-reaching hidden fantasy world, rich in history. Multiple points of view are used to follow the story to its natural conclusions, not every NPC has all the answers, but there is one MC in this book. Progression will take time and sometimes even unknowingly. MC is not trained in the ways and knowledge must be tempered against experimentation. Release Schedule. 2 chapters a week, family and work permitting. Only if I'm happy with the chapter will I release it. That being said I am open to revision should an articulated critical response show merit. This story is not completed yet but I do have a general idea of what the end looks like for both MC's (yes both) Ultimately feedback will be most influential on the progression of release as it's you guys I'm looking to entertain. Expected Changes None really, I'm writing as I go and have a path planned for 6 books Chapter release rate might change if we take off and feedback starts flowing, but for now, it is just about making sure Arcs flow smoothly onto the next. Cover, yes absolutely! If there is enough interest I will open a Patreon account and use the first proceeds to commission an EPIC cover and hopefully a few scary artworks of our brave Cultivators and the foes they face.

Aeternalis
One born of nothingness. A world born of everything. To return all to nothing. Or surrender to everything. A man born into an infinite world, trying to find his path to the top. Trials and tribulations come from friends and foes alike until all bow before him. ------------------------------------- Author here! This is my 3rd story on RoyalRoad, the other two having long since been dropped years ago. They were a mess of ideas and had no real substanence to them, leading me to begin hating writing them and eventually just stop writing altogether for about a year and a half. Finally, after reading hundreds of thousands of pages of novels, from low fantasy to sci-fi litrpg's to thousands of pages long xianxias, I finally feel ready to write a real story that isn't a cesspool of ideas blended together. I plan to see this out to the end, as I already have the first few major arcs planned out unlike my other stories where I thought of ideas as I wrote. This story takes place in a world with a litrpg system, as per tags. This isn't a VRMMO or Reincarnation story. The main character exists in and is from said world. There are some differences from other litrpg's which will be explained in author notes in the few few chapters. I plan to publich 6-7 chapters a week, each 2-3k words long. If i fail to do so I will create a back-log I have to eventually make up but as of writing this it's the summer for me so I'll have plenty of time to write. Enjoy, and welcome to the world of Aeternalis.
