"There's twelve carriers inbound, ten miles!" They heard Warcry shout from outside.
Olivia's gaze turned to the door. There was no way that they could hold off that many and that door wouldn't hold for long. Her anxiety spiked as she thought about strategies. But everyone she came up with, would fail in the end.
This was it. This was the last stand against the Sentinels.
"They found us." Charles exclaimed in worry as he looked to his old friend and daughter. He knew what was coming, how couldn't he?
At this point it was the silence that they all hoped for, the noise only telling them that the war had come to them. The silence was full of dread but almost reassuring them that they had time.
Time. Olivia wanted to scoff at it. If there was anything she learned over the years was that time was never on her side and this was no different.
The light brown haired women looked to her father and then to her uncle. Her eyes held her fear, her body tensing as she realised slowly that there was no hope. Her fingerless gloved hands turned into a fist as she began to step forward however an obnoxious cape got in her way.
She watched in shock as he walked forward and towards the exit, the cape flowing behind him effortlessly. Questions ran through her mind, the main one being; was he going to sacrifice himself?
As he turned the corner, Olivia sprinted after him, sliding slightly as she called out, "Magneto wait."
The old man paused in the corridor, not bothering to look back at her. "Keep your father safe Liv." He instructed her. He began to open the doors as Olivia called out to him again.
"Uncle Erik!" She shouted, her voice echoing slightly in the small area. Erik looked over his shoulder, seeing her terror filled face staring at him. "Do you really think Logan can do it? Change the future?" She questioned him, seeking some sort of reassurance.

"Do you?" He countered quickly. Without hesitation, Olivia wordlessly nodded in confirmation. "Have faith in your allies, it will get you far." He advised her before walking out the temple.
"Be careful and don't die." She called after him before the doors shut once again. Olivia's shoulders dropped, staring at where her uncle once stood. "Please." She whispered to herself.
She hated that she hadn't gotten to spend time with her uncle. The man her mother knew was amazing according to the stories. Maybe that's why Evie chose him to be Olivia's godfather. But over the years, Olivia wondered if the man from back then was still under there. Deep down, she knew he was.
The door thumping drew Olivia's attention back to the real world. She slowly walked backwards, her fists clenching as she heard commotion. The sound of skin slashing made her look behind her.
She watched as Logan tensed on the table behind her, choking on the air around him. Somehow, deep down she knew what this meant. Logan was drowning in the past.
"Oh dear god no." Charles exclaimed in terror as he watched.
That's when Olivia finally decided to step up and try to save the mutants that were still alive. With a flick of her wrist, vines started piercing the concrete, climbing upwards, sharpening as it slowly started to create a barrier.
Olivia looked over her shoulder, nodding to the young man. "Bobby, help me with the door." She told him.
Iceman nodded and skidded over to her, his complexion turning to ice before he started to freeze the vines, filling the spaces she missed. The sound of a thump behind the door made the two mutants push harder.
"Olivia don't." Charles tried to say, not wanting his only daughter to die. He couldn't handle it if he was left alone after all, she was his hope.

The women simply looked over her shoulder, a sad smile on her lips as she told him, "I love you dad."
The two mutants pushed again, the vines slowly finding it's way towards the end of the corridor. A portal opened behind them, Olivia looking to see Erik collapsing onto the pillar, Blink getting stabbed in the opening. It shut promptly after.
A smash was heard and Olivia panicked. She used the vines to wrap around what she couldn't see but the by the red light that was forming on the other side of the icy-vines, the Sentinels were here.
They had no time to mourn their fallen friends, focusing on giving Logan as much time as possible. That was the mission, they had to finish the mission. The final mission of the X-Men. Olivia couldn't count the amount of finals that they had in this short time.
Bobby cried out as a beam of light hit his head. The ice exploded, the headless ice body dropping, smashing when hitting the floor. Olivia's eyes widened as she looked at the body of one of the people she was supposed to protect, her friend.
Her hands dropped, her powers stopping as she looked to the blockade. On the other side of a sheet of ice stood three Sentinels standing tall. Terror filled her body as she stepped back, watching as their mouths began to open and heat up.
The beams hit the ice and vines, slowly melting it as Olivia stood in between them and Logan. The small pooling of water reflected the on coming attack, slowly taunting them.
"I'll be with you Jean." Olivia muttered to herself as she pictured her lover in her head, her smiling face stood next to her, hugging her. Two beams shot out from the sides, heading for Logan and Kitty as well as Charles and Erik. The final one headed straight towards Olivia.
As she tilted her head away, she whispered her final words. "Always."
And with one final breath, everyone was gone.

A Castle in a Teacup
One might say that to anger forces beyond the ken of fragile breakable mortals is a bad idea, others might say that meddling in dark forces with little chance of gain is also a bad idea, they would both be right by on all counts but they forget to mention also how incredibly stupid combining both of those things are. Stupid people don’t last so long on the mystic side of things, normal folks who wander over to the other side have a tendency to do one of two things, either A. figure out that the best thing to do is keep their head down and not draw attention from any entity that refers to humanity as “you mortals” , or B. something horrifying happens to them. As you may have guessed I fell into the second category, mostly because I thought there was a third option. See I though there must be an option C, an option where I got to end up not as some shitty back ally wizard cowering at the chance of discovery, praying that one of my wards or spells wouldn’t be noticed by something that goes bump in the night. No I would be the one who rose above all that. I would never have to be afraid. Well I made a good attempt at it that’s for damn sure, but unfortunately for me it turns out there is not an option C. At least not for me…

He leaves to America, to reconcile with old faces and start anew. 10 months later, when Class 1-A makes a trip to California for the summer, they think of it as nothing more than a great time to relax and wind down from their hero training.
