When Logan woke up, everything was different. It was brighter and it almost blinded him. But as he slowly made his way through the lively school full of mutants, he stopped at the stairs, looking down to see Storm ushering a class.

But what really caught his eyes was the red head lent causally against the doorway and she was very much alive.

He slowly walked towards her, almost afraid that she'd disappear in the shadows. "Jean." He whispered in disbelief as he slowly got to her. The red head had heard his call, looking over to him with a smile.

"Hi, Logan." She greeted cheerfully, her red lips curling up into a sweet smile. However expression fell slightly as she noticed his eyes still on her. "Are you okay?" She asked him in concern.

"You're here." He stated, a smile on his lips as he stood next to her.

"Where else would I be?" Jean questioned him in confusion. The man brought his hand up to touch her cheek, wanting to make sure that she was real.

However a firm hand grabbed his before he could touch her. "Woah! Easy, pal." Scott exclaimed as he pulled Logan's hand down. If he wasn't so stunned, Logan would have snapped at the man.

"Relax Scott," A melodic chuckle escaped Olivia's as she pulled herself out of one of the arm chairs in her father's office. "Jean is more then capable to look after herself." The women told the two men, slipping one of her arms around Jean's waist, smiling at her. "Isn't that right babe?"

Jean gave her girlfriend a pure smile, staring deep into her blue eyes. "Indeed it is." Olivia placed a quick peck on her lips which made the red head laugh. The light brunette noticed Logan still staring at the three, almost in awe at how happy they were.

"Are you okay Logan?" Olivia questioned the man in concern, her eyes full of worry. "You're staring more then usual."

Logan quickly contemplated his words before smirking slightly. "Just wondering how your hero complex is coming along." A snort escaped Scott's lips and Jean smiled to herself, looking down so that Olivia couldn't see her suppressing a laugh.

"Oh ha, ha. We are all rolling around with laughter." Olivia responded sarcastically as she rolled her eyes. "It's an old joke Logan, get a new one."

"Well some things never change." Logan exclaimed with a small laugh, looking over the three, taking in their appearances. "Good to see you, Scott."

Scott did nothing but raise his brows unconvinced by the man in front of him. "Uh-huh. See you later, girls." Cyclops bid the two girls before leaving the study.

Olivia watched as the man disappeared from sight before a devilish smile overtook her lips. She quickly turned to Jean and lent in slightly. "Okay, I say we steal one of Scott's bikes and go exploring." She planned excitedly. "You in?"

"An adventure with you?" Jean questioned, pausing to consider it. A smile over took her lips as she looked back to the women. "Always."

The two females left the room hand in hand as Logan walked in. The man paused and muttered, "Professor." almost in awe to see him, like he had to the rest of the X-Men. Olivia pulled on Jean's hand, making her stop of the women looked to her friend.

"Logan, are you sure everything's alright?" She questioned him, her brows knitted together as she tried to figure out why he was acting so weird.

Logan turned to look at her, a slow nod as he thought. "Yeah." He answered, before repeating with more confidence. "Yeah, I think it is."

"Well, have fun talking to my dad I guess." Olivia spared him a quick smile before escaping with her girlfriend.

The two laughed as they ran through the halls like excited teenagers, constantly wondering what Scott would say when he would - eventually - find out. As they exited the side door to get to the garage, a loud whistle stopped them.

Jean was the one who stopped this time, knowing who had caused it. The two looked over their shoulder to see Olivia's mother, Evie stood their, her brow arched as she looked at the two.

"Liv, have you seen your dad?" Evie asked her daughter as she shifted with the book in her hand before resting it beside her hip.

"Yeah he's in his office." Olivia answered, her brows furrowing in confusion. "Why?"

Evie tilted her head, wondering if she should tell her. The older women shrugged her shoulders and told the girls anyway. "I need to speak with him. There's a teacher missing and you know me, prepare for the worst." However the brunette quickly caught onto their mischievous gazes and questioned, "What were you two doing?"

"Oh nothing." Jean quickly said, pressing her lips into a firm line to try and suppress her smile.

The women looked at the two blankly, clearly not believing what she was told. Evie sighed and began to walk away, not before telling them, "If you're going to steal Scott's bike at least fill it up before you come back."

Jean burst out into laughter beside Olivia who simply smiled, "Love you Mom." She called out loudly.

"Love you too Liv." Evie called back in amusement, sending them a small wave before she made her way through the school.

Along the way, Evie placed her book on one of the many bookshelves that littered the halls - a design she had put in. She loved books but having a whole library seemed a like it would be a disaster, especially consider the amount of students they had.

The brunette arrived at her husband's office and noticed that the door was open. She took this as an open invitation and waltz in. "Hey, Charles." She called out but much to her surprise, Logan was stood there. "Oh morning Logan. I was just about to ask where you were, your class is waiting." She informed him with a smile.

"Evie." Logan breathed out in recognition, knowing the posture and voice tone from anywhere. He would like to have said that they had become friends in the past but seeing her here, alive, it was further proof that he had done some good.

Charles smiled, looking between the two before catching up his wife. "It seems Logan is having a little trouble with his memory."

"Oh yeah, old age finally catching up to you?" She joked with a teasing smile on her lips.

"He can't remember anything since 1973." Charles revealed with an amused smile.

Evie's face dropped as she looked to the professor. As she realised what this meant, she looked back to Logan. "Oh my god. Logan, welcome back." The women didn't hesitate to pull the man into a hug.

However she quickly pulled away and punched his arm hard which made him stumble back slightly. "I've been waiting since 1973 to do that." She exclaimed with a smile. "That was for disrupting our lives."

"With all due respect, it was your husband's idea." Logan defend himself, rubbing where she had punched him.

"And now that I'm here, I can stop him from doing stupid things." Evie replied as she crossed her arms over her chest, looking to the Englishman in amusement. Charles shook his head, clearly enjoying the exchange too much. "I'll cover your class today, I think you two have a lot of catching up to do." Evie told Logan kindly before starting to leave the room.

Evie stopped in the doorway, looking back at her friend. "The future is bright Logan, keep looking forward." She told him with a smile before leaving the office.

And she was right, they all had futures that are bright.
