《Explosive Thoughts | Charles Xavier [1] ✔︎》02 | Charles Xavier

It turned out that finding a person who specialised in genetics and genetic mutation was easier then Evie originally thought. They had traveled only a few hours from the CIA to a university where a man was graduating. The two CIA agents were able to sneak in thanks to their badges.
Evie watched the ceremony in boredom, her body slouched and her arms crossed. However when a male with brown hair stepped into the stage, she automatically recognised him from the file they made. "That's the guy?" Evie questioned Moira as she finally sat up straight
"That's the guy." Moira confirmed with a small smile. "He's pretty cute, nerdy, just your type." The women observed with a knowing smile as she looked to her partner.
Evie scoffed and slapped her friend's arm. "Shut up Moria."
"Professor of Genetics, Charles Francis Xavier." The man announced which made the two women look back to the stage.
After another hour of pain, Charles Xavier finally left the ceremonial hall as a professor. They followed the man without his knowledge for a while before he turned into a bar. That's how they started to watch the professor play drinking games with fellow university graduates. Evie wasn't exactly impressed, leaning against the bar with a soft drink in hand.
"We followed him to a British bar and now we're watching him drink." Evie exclaimed in disbelief as she watched the brunet finish the large glass and cheer. "I feel like a stalker." She grumbled as she took a sip of her drink.
"Isn't that what the CIA do anyway?" Moira retaliated as she kept her eyes on the man.
Evie sighed deeply as she took another sip of her drink. "You're not making me feel any better."
"My cue." Moira stated as she watched the man walk towards them. Evie chocked on her drink at the words, not realising that they were going to engage so quickly.
"Wait Moria." She exclaimed in shock as she placed her drink in the bar, chasing after the women slightly.

Moria smiled as she approached Charles, immediately catching the British man's eye. "Moria MacTaggert. This is my associate Evie Dalton." She introduced them. Evie sent Charles a tense smile as he looked at her.
"Charles Xavier." He shook Moira's hand, his eyes still on Evie. "She doesn't look very happy to be here." He observed with a small smile.
"I dragged her along. Do you have a minute?" Moira asked the man with a sweet smile which made Evie roll her eyes. The brunette made her way back to the bar, picking her drink up and escaping to a dark corner.
During this time, Evie was finally able to fiddle with her hearing aids. They weren't the best but at least they worked. Her hearing was always a problem for her, she couldn't wait for a time where hearing aids were more streamline then they were currently. After adjusting them slightly for the environment she was in, Evie went back to drinking her drink, her eyes solely on her partner and the professor.
After a while, Moira and Charles finished talking, the professor looking a little bit more shaken then before. The CIA agent walked over to her partner and announced, "We're staying for a little while."
"I did not agree to this." Evie sighed deeply as she sipped her drink, a swallow wave of sadness hitting her when she realised it was almost empty.
"It'll be fine. Have fun." Moira smiled before disappearing into the crowd. It was times like there where Evie cursed her partner for being a people person.
The brunette huffed, checking the time on her watch as she ran her other hand through her hair. During this time Charles has a chance to observe the women, she had peaked his interest. That's why he decided to go over to her.
"You're not a people person, are you?" He questioned her with a small smile, snapping her out of her thoughts.
Recognition lit up in Evie's eyes and then she smiled. "What gave it away?" She asked him with a small chuckle.

"You're hiding in a corner. One of the few corners actually." He explained as he looked over the room. He held his hand out and introduced himself. "Charles Xavier."
"Evie Dalton." Evie shook the man's hand with a polite smile.
"Can I sit here?" He motioned to the chair in front of him.
"Sure." Evie nodded, motioning that it was all his. Charles sat down with no hesitation. "Sorry about Moria, she's an acquired taste."
Charles quirked an brow at her words. "How so?"
"She likes to 'do' instead of 'think' and she doesn't think through her ideas or her words." Evie explained bluntly which made Charles smile slightly. "Look, thank you for helping us out with the genetic mutation thing but don't get her hopes up about it. Moria likes to put all her eggs in one basket."
"You don't trust her." Charles assumed quickly.
"No I do trust her, that's the problem." Evie replied as she leant back in her chair. "I'd go to hell and back for my friends but it's not the first time Moria's led us down a tricky hole."
Charles places his fingers on his head, ready to read her mind as he asked his next question. "Who do you work for?"
"CIA." Evie responded instantly making the man falter. "Been there for four years."
"Impressive." Charles complimented as he relaxed his hand. "Before that?"
"Military. Got discharged after 8 years." Evie replied with a smile.
Charles nodded as he took in the information. "Can I ask why?"
"There was an accident at the end of my last tour. I lost my hearing." She answered truthfully, tapping the hearing aids.
"I'm sorry." Charles bid her, his face falling slightly.
"It's not your fault, you didn't sent the bomb off." She mumbled to herself. Charles tilted his head slightly but didn't question it.
"So that's why you dislike people." The professor realised as he sat back causally in his seat.
"Actually I love people, people just don't love me." Evie replied with a shrug of her shoulders. "It's hard in big groups like this to listen to listen to the person in front of me. The hearing aids aren't exactly great at blocking out sounds." The brunette explained as she motioned to the busy room. "What about you, Professor Charles Xavier?"
"Oh please, don't call me that." Charles laughed awkwardly. "My parents died at a young age, I have a sister. That's really all there is to me." He chuckled as he leant on the table in front of them.
"Bullshit." Evie exclaimed in a bitter chuckle, almost as if she was announcing it to the gods. She leant forward, their faces closer together then before. "There's more to you then that."
Charles chuckled slightly. "And why are you so confident in that?" He asked her, almost teasing her.
"I like reading people and you are holding back." She replied, mirroring his smirk as she looked over his face. His blue eyes stood out more now that she was closer to him.
"I could say the same for you," Charles responded with just as much confidence as she did. "You are withholding lots of information about yourself."
Evie was about to response when she saw Moira trying to catch her eye. The brunette's smirk grew even wider as she stood up. As she rounded the table, she whispered in Charles' ear. "Unlike me, you won't have time to find out."
In complete shock, he didn't say anything back. He simply watched the two CIA agents walk away, complete awe written into his face. "What a women." He said to himself, a boyish smile on his lips.

The Doormat Villainess – Adrianne
A villainess is a character who has always been diametrically opposed to the heroine of a romance drama. What makes a person a good villainess? The fact that she's unabashedly beautiful and charismatic, yet also rotten inside? The fact that she's incredibly loathsome, greedy, and selfish? That she's reasonably strong enough to be a hurdle, yet ultimately powerless in the face of a determined heroine? That despite all these character flaws, a Villainess's greatest virtue is unwilling to give up until the last of their breath, in pursuit of her personal desire?
