《havoc | bellamy blake (book two)》22 | not so different

Jovie sat slumped over next to Bellamy as they waited for whatever Lexa decided to do with them. She picked at a string on her boot in an attempt to distract herself.
"What do you think they're gonna do to us?" She asked Bellamy quietly.
"I don't know," he answered.
"Raven didn't do it," she said. Raven was angry, but Jovie knew in her gut that it wasn't her.
"I know," he replied. "But it doesn't matter what we think if they think she did it." They both looked up when Raven suddenly punched Clarke straight in the face.
"You're the only murderer here!" Raven said. Abby and Octavia were quick to step in to make sure it didn't escalate. The last thing they needed were for them to be fighting each other.
"Leave me alone. You gave me no choice," Clarke then said. "Why did you turn yourself in?" They all stared at her in confusion as she spoke to an empty space in the room. It was clear that Clarke was slowly starting to unravel. No one could blame her.
♛
Jovie sat up when she heard the Grounders come back into the room. She walked over to where Bellamy was and he rested his hand on her back. It was his way of feeling like he was protecting her, even if there was nothing he could really do in the moment.
"How's Gustus?" Lincoln asked.
"Gustus will live," Nyko answered.
"Take her away," Indra ordered. A Grounder began walking straight towards Raven.
"Wait, wait, what are you doing?" Kane asked.
"She didn't poison anyone!" Bellamy argued as he stepped forward.
"I argued for all of you to die," Indra said. "But the Commander is merciful. She wants only one."
"She's innocent," Lincoln said.
"I don't care!" Indra said. "They move, they bleed." The Grounders pushed through Bellamy, Octavia, and Jovie who tried blocking them from getting to Raven.
"Hey. Hey, stop! Let her go," Octavia said. Bellamy grabbed Jovie's arm to hold her from going after Raven. As much as he hated watching Raven be taken away like that, he couldn't have it happen to Jovie too.
"The rest of you are free," Indra said. "When she's dead, so is the alliance." Jovie closed her eyes in frustration at the woman's words. They tried so hard for this and now it was already gone. "You should run."

They wasted no time in following the Grounders out to where they were holding Raven tied up to a pole.
"I take no joy in this, Raven," Lexa said. "But this time, justice will be done."
"I didn't do it," Raven said. "How is that justice?"
"We have to do something," Bellamy said. Kane was quick to hold him back though.
"We can't," he whispered.
"We can't just let them kill her!" Jovie said, but Kane held her back too.
"Lincoln, talk to them," Octavia urged. Raven let out a scream as Lexa slowly cut her arm with a blade. Jovie gripped Bellamy's arm as Indra stepped forward and cut Raven's stomach. "You can talk to them. These are your people."
"Not anymore," Lincoln said. He walked forward to meet Nyko.
"You're no longer safe here, friend," Nyko said. "I'll do my best to make sure you get away. Then you'll be on your own."
"Clarke, we need to move now," Abby called.
"We can't just leave her," Jovie said. "Kane, please."
"I'm sorry, Jo. We can't stay," Kane said. She looked at him, silently trying to beg him to do something. She didn't know what she expected him to do but it didn't matter. It was a strange thing really. She used to hate Kane. Now she suddenly felt herself almost looking to him for guidance and support.
"Clarke, now!" Abby said. When Clarke came storming out, Bellamy moved forward to stop her.
"Stop. What are you doing? You'll get yourself killed," he said.
"I need that bottle. Now," she said. She stepped forward. "Stop!"
"Let her pass," Lexa ordered. They all walked through to approach Lexa.
"One of your people tried to kill you, Lexa, not one of mine," Clarke said.
"You should have run," Indra threatened them.
"I can prove it," Clarke said. Nyko handed Clarke the bottle and she swiftly took a chug out of it. Nothing happened.
"Explain," Lexa demanded.
"The poison wasn't in the bottle. It was in the cup," Clarke said. Gustus leaned over to Lexa to say something and that was when Bellamy figured it out.
"It was you," he said to Gustus. "He tested the cup. He searched Raven."

"Gustus would never harm me," Lexa said.
"You weren't the target," Bellamy said. "The alliance was."
"We didn't do this, and you know it," Clarke said. Lexa turned to Gustus and seemed to demand some kind of truth from him.
"This alliance would cost you your life, Heda," he said, confirming the Sky People's theory. "I could not let that happen."
"This treachery will cost you yours," Lexa said. She ordered the Grounders to take him, so Bellamy and Kane ran forward to get Raven down.
It wasn't long before the Grounders continued the ritual of cutting for punishment but this time on Gustus.
"This would have been Finn," Raven suddenly realized, looking back at Clarke. Jovie sighed as she watched the Grounders cut their own. It was meant so they would suffer the same as those that they made suffer. Clarke had killed Finn so he wouldn't have to suffer.
Gustus spoke one last thing to Lexa before she took out her sword and slid it into his body.
"We're not so different, are we?" Abby said.
♛
It was a couple hours later when they were sitting around a fire.
"How did you know it was Gustus?" Lincoln asked Bellamy.
"He'd do anything for her... to protect her," he answered, glancing over at Jovie as he said it. "It just makes sense."
"Look at the thanks he got," Octavia commented. No one said anything in response because it was true. Gustus did what he thought he had to to make sure Lexa was safe and it ended up costing him his life. That was too much of a harsh truth.
"Guys!" Raven called.
"What is it?" Bellamy asked.
"Listen to this." She held the radio up for them to hear.
"Forty-seven of us are trapped inside Mount Weather. They've taken Harper." It was a voice that Jovie hadn't heard in a while but recognized right away. It was Jasper.
"Talk to him. Say something," Clarke told Raven.
"We don't how much time we have left."
"It's repeating," Raven realized.
"Please hurry. This is Jasper Jordan."
"They're alive," Octavia said.
"We need help."
"We need to do this now. We've got the alliance. Now is the time to use it," Bellamy said.
"She may already be dead."
"First, we need an inside man," Clarke said.
"Please hurry."
"You were right. Without someone on the inside to lower their defenses, turn off the acid fog, an army is useless. You should go," Clarke said to Bellamy.
"I thought you hated that plan," he said. "That I would get myself killed."
"I was being weak. It's worth the risk," she said before glancing over at Jovie. "You know what to do." No one knew what Clarke was referring to but Jovie did. Bellamy looked over at Jovie in confusion. He was about to ask what was going on but Clarke continued. "My map of Mount Weather. Find a way to get on that radio and talk to us. Good luck."
"Bell, how are you going to-?" Octavia started.
"I can get you through the tunnels," Lincoln offered.
"You can't go back there. Not yet," Octavia argued.
"Jovie, what was that?" Bellamy then asked, referring to how Clarke had looked at her. Jovie didn't want to tell him but she knew she had to. He would never forgive her if she went on with her plan without telling him about it. She also knew he wasn't going to make it easy for her though.
"I'm going in too."
♛
A/N: Just a heads up, from now until pretty much the end, the plot will stray from the show a bit. It will obviously follow the storyline of Mount Weather but it will be different in the sense that Jovie will be going in on her own and will focus a bit more on her than some of the other characters. I know this is a Bellamy fanfic, but this next part of the book is going to shape Jovie's character. I've had this idea in my mind for a while and am eager to dive deeper into Jovie as an individual. But don't worry, there will still be parts with Bellamy so please see it through!

All the government leaders had known about it beforehand and had made an announcement, so there was little strife and instead excitement to loot the dungeons that the Change had created. Kyle Anders was incredibly excited when he saw his starting skill, called Exponential Mana Regeneration, but his excitement quickly waned when he realized it was almost useless with his starting mana pool of twenty. He had nearly given up hope on being a mage when his family got him a new skill for his 18th birthday. Suddenly, with his mana pool expanded because of the skill, Kyle’s mana regeneration shot through the roof. But while humanity worked hard to loot dungeons and increase their skills and stats, Change was coming, and peace cannot last forever. The story is currently on haitus. (This story is a work in progress. As the first story that I have ever written, the beginning, especially the first ten chapters or so, needs heavy editing. I have decided to continue writing the story instead of going back and editing the beginning. I hope that despite all its flaws you will still find my story enjoyable.)
