Flashback
Jennie gripped the wheel tighter while Jisoo braced herself by holding onto the handle above her seat.
"Clutch, clutch! Switch gear!" Lisa screamed from behind in a mischievous tone.
"Lisa! I'm driving an automatic not a manual. There is NO clutch!" Jennie yelled back, her eyes wide open filled with fear and knuckles white from her rigid hold. It was her first time learning how to drive. She asked Irene to teach her but the cheerleader refused to get in the car, terrified that Jennie might get in an accident with her. So she sought for Jisoo, who happily agreed.
The brown-eyed girl had already gotten her license the summer before during the time that Jennie chose to spend hers watching Netflix all day. Jisoo didn't hesitate to say yes when her teammate asked her, along with Lisa who wanted to join the ride to pick on the brunette.
"Oh my god, oh my god. I'm going to hit something." Jennie chanted anxiously.
"Jendeukie, we're not moving yet..." Jisoo pointed out at which Lisa erupted in laughter. The brown-eyed girl glared at the tall girl through the rearview mirror.
"Lisa, I hate you." She muttered.
"Nini, will you relax and turn on the ignition. Damn we've been sitting in your garage for like an hour now." Lisa complained.
"It's been five minutes." Jisoo chuckled. She turned her head to face Jennie. "Take a deep breath, babe. Just relax and ignore Lisa."
"Hey!" The Thai protested.
Jennie took a big inhale and breathed it out.
"Good, Jendeukie. Now turn on the ignition." She did as Jisoo said and twisted the key starting up the engine. "Foot on the brake, then liberate the parking brake." Her right foot pushed down on the brake before she pulled up a lever to release the parking break. The car shifted slightly resulting Jennie to panic.
"Aggghhhhhh." The brown-eyed girl squealed. Jisoo let out a husky laugh accompanied by Lisa's giggles. Her cheeks heated up from embarrassment. "Guysssss, stop making fun of me." She whined.
"Nini, calm the fuck down!" Lisa jeered. "Grow some balls and drive!"
"Don't listen to Lisa. Listen to me. Okay?" Jisoo waved off the Thai's comment. She extended her arm out and placed a hand below the girl's chin to turn Jennie's face towards her. The pair locked eyes. "My voice, remember. I promise we'll get through this... together."
Jennie nodded and hummed in agreement. "Okay."
"I'm going to barf." The girl in the backseat uttered as she watched the duo exchange looks. Jisoo discretely raised her right hand up and flipped Lisa off. Her teammate gasped in offense and pinched the back of the pale girl's neck.
"Fuck Lisa!" Jisoo cursed, craning her head to be met with a smirking girl. She reached over and slapped the Thai's leg but Lisa quickly dodged it.
"Children!" Jennie exasperated. "Can we please focus?"
"She started it!" Lisa accused.
"I did not!" The oldest huffed. She faced forward and folded her arms across her chest. "Let's just go. Shift the transmission to drive and let go of the break slowly." She mumbled with a frown.

"YOU SEE WHAT YOU DO LISA! YOU BROKE MY INSTRUCTOR!" Jennie scolded, shooting daggers to the Thai's direction.
"I didn't do shit." Lisa defended raising her hands up and looking the other way.
Jennie poked Jisoo's face. "C'mon, Chu. Turn that frown upside down."
"No." She replied stubbornly.
"Don't let the big meanie in the back put you down. Like you said just ignore her." Jennie consulted.
"Hey!" Lisa voiced.
"Shush, Manobal!" Jennie silenced. "Jisoo, just listen to my voice okay?"
Jisoo side-eyed the driver and sighed. "Fine."
The brunette grinned. "Teach me how to drive Kim Jisoo!"
"Only if you kiss me, right here." Jisoo smirked as she tapped her cheek.
"Are you serious?" Jennie groaned.
"Dead ass."
"Fine." The driver climbed over her chair and placed a small peck on Jisoo's cheek. A faint click was heard. She snapped her head in the back and saw Lisa with her phone up. "Lisa."
"Huh? I'm just texting." The tall girl asked innocently as she met Jennie's gaze, who stared her down. "LET'S DRIVE! Shall we?"
-
Jennie stabbed her grilled chicken violently. Her nose flared up as she observed how close Nayeon was to Jisoo. She clenched her jaw every time Nayeon brushed her arm against Jisoo's.
"Nini, the chicken is already dead. You know that right?" Yeri lifted an eyebrow at her captain as she watched the girl continuously stick the knife at the piece of meat.
"Why is Jisoo not sitting with us? We're her teammates." Jennie snarled, continuing to stare at the pair from across the lunch hall.
"Probably because Nayeon and her are dating now..." The girl uttered slowly. Jennie averted her gaze from the couple to glare at Yeri.
"They went on ONE date! ONE! They aren't dating." The captain stated angrily. "Jisoo even said it was nothing special. They went out to go to the movies, which is so... so... what's the word?"
"Oo. Oo. Romantic?" Rosé chirped.
"No! Intimate. Getting all cozied up next to-" Yeri bellowed excitedly.
"It's so BASIC! Simple. Dull." Jennie noted with an annoyed huff. She picked up a fry and tossed it in her mouth. "Not very exciting, if you asked me."
Rosé looked over at the couple and smiled. "But look at them. They're so cute together."
Both Yeri and Jennie turned their heads just in time to see Jisoo tossed Nayeon a grape who caught it skillfully with her mouth. The soccer player giggled and threw her hand on Jisoo's arm, letting it linger there instead of retracting it.
"Nini... Hey! Je-Nnie." Rosé called but the girl was too busy burning holes through the back of Nayeon's head. "Yeri, get her for me."
Yeri nodded and pushed her captain roughly. She must have underestimated her strength since the girl to fell off her seat. She gasped and covered her mouth with her hands trying to contain her laughter.
"FUCK!" Jennie wailed loudly as her butt hit the cement, which echoed throughout the cafeteria. The lunch hall went completely silent and everyone focused in on the volleyball player on the ground. Everyone including Jisoo. She felt the stares and quickly scurried back up her seat while she covered her face with her hand. Slowly the chatter picked up again and the students went back to mind their own business.

"Shit, Yeri. What the actual hell!" Jennie hissed quietly at her teammate, who was currently dying of laughter.
"I-I-I'm... so- so... sorry, Nini!" Yeri breathed as she held her stomach. "I didn't think you'd fall off."
"Well I did!"
"I'm sorry!"
"Fuck you." Jennie rasped, flicking the girl in her arm.
"Owww." The ebony girl pouted.
The brown-eyed girl was about to throw a snarky comment back at the girl that was until she felt a hand on her shoulder.
"Hey there, Clumsy. How's your ass?" Jisoo teased. She took her usually spot next to Jennie and smiled smugly at her co-captain. Jennie perked up and froze, refusing to look at the girl not wanting to seem too excited.
"Fine." Jennie shrugged with a sly smile. "Like my ass always is."
Jisoo released a throaty laugh. "It didn't seem like it a few seconds ago. Seriously, are you okay?"
Jennie rolled her eyes playfully and tilted her head towards Jisoo. Her heart fluttered the moment she was met with warm brown orbs filled with sincerity.
"Jendeukie?"
"My butt is fine, Jisoo." Jennie reassured. "Thanks for being considerate."
"My pleasure." Jisoo grinned before spinning around her seat to her teammates. "So, how is my team doing today?"
"HEY CHU!" Everyone in the table greeted.
"Is Nayeon treating you well?" A freshman sang causing the table to cackle. The whole volleyball team has been teasing the dark haired girl about her date with Nayeon. It was a new look for Jisoo to be in a somewhat relationship and the girls wanted to point that out.
"Nayeon and Jisoo sitting on a tree-" The JV team started but was harshly cut off by a certain brunette.
"Cut it out, guys!" Jennie scolded making the underclassmen shut their mouths. "Childish." She muttered as she shook her head and stuffed her face with a piece of chicken aggressively.
Jisoo knitted her eyebrows together and shot Jennie a quizzical look. She brushed it off and leaned closer to her team. "Anyways, Nayeon and I aren't dating..."
"WHAT!!" The girls shouted in disbelief. Jennie, on the other hand, silently cheered in her seat.
"Not yet." Jisoo revealed eliciting a hoard of 'ooo's' and giggles from her team. She chuckled lightly at the reaction.
Jennie jerked Jisoo's arm and pulled her closer. "I thought you hated your date? What do you mean by not yet..."
"I didn't hate it. I just said it wasn't exciting but I like hanging with Nayeon. She's cool. And I thought that maybe if we did something exciting then maybe I'll like her..." Jisoo retorted. "I'm giving her a chance, Jendeukie. There's potential."
The brunette combed through her wavy locks and sighed. Jisoo deserves to be happy. After all the things she's done for her, Jennie wanted to see Jisoo happy, even if it was with someone else. She has to push aside the feelings she had bubbling inside her and think about Jisoo.
"Nayeon seems like a nice girl." Jennie lied between her teeth and faked a smile.
"She is, Jendeukie." Jisoo beamed.
"So when do the girls and I get to formally meet her?"
-
Lisa laughed wholeheartedly as she entered the gym and found Jennie hitting against the wall.
"Look who's finally early for once." The tall girl spoke, letting her duffel bag fall off her shoulders on the floor. She observed her teammate hit the ball harder and harder each time it bounced back. "If you keep that up the ball's going to burst."
Jennie gave it one last smack before catching it and turning around. Her eyes were dark and chest puffing. "Do you think Jisoo and Nayeon look good together?" She asked suddenly.
"Oh um... yeah. They're okay." The Thai replied mildly perplexed. She flopped down on the ground and started to rummage through her bag. "I didn't actually think they'd end up together, in all honesty. I only teased Jisoo about her so I can see the jealous look on your face. Get you all worked up. It was hilarious."
"I don't get jealous." Jennie scoffed.
"Yeah okay, Nini."
"I don't!"
"Jennie shut the fuck up. You're like the most possessive person I've ever met. Even when you aren't dating Jisoo, you made sure everyone knew to stay away from her." Lisa snorted. "I was surprised you let her go on a date... with someone else and off all people Nayeon. That girl has an actual chance."
"What are you talking about?" The captain raised an eyebrow.
"I'm talking about the fact that Jisoo is giving Nayeon a chance because you told her too. She wouldn't have done it otherwise."
"It was her decision. I merely egged her to do it. A small push."
The Thai laughed mockingly. "You have no idea how much hold you have over Jisoo, do you?"
Jennie gave her a confused look.
"And apparently how much she has over you." Lisa smirked. She pulled out a card from her bag and handed it to the brunette. "I forgot to give this to you like three weeks ago. Happy birthday, Nini."
The captain took the card and opened it. Lisa's neat writing occupied the space to the right of the card while a printed picture was taped on the left. She picked up the picture and flipped it over. It was an image of Jennie kissing Jisoo on the cheek from the driving lesson.
A smile crept on her face as she replayed that day in her head.
"Oh look, the lovebirds are here." Lisa announced as she pointed at the door making Jennie look up. Jisoo held the door open for Nayeon while they talked. The Thai grabbed a book from the duffel bag and tossed it at the brown-eyed girl. "Nini, catch."
Reflexes acted up and Jennie caught the book with one hand. She read the cover and lifted an eyebrow at her teammate. "The Dictionary..."
"Page 259. Third word down."
Jennie flipped through the pages of the book and stopped at the page Lisa had told her too. She searched for the third word down.
Lisa hopped up and draped her arm around Jennie's shoulder. "Sorry, bud but letting Nayeon take a chance with Jisoo might have been a wrong move on your part. But hey, didn't you say you don't get jealous..."

Not So Bold
A store clerk wakes up one day in a body not his own. Then wakes up back in his bed, it was just a dream. Right? He soon finds himself living a duel life, bouncing between his mundane life as a shelf stuffer and a strange new one. One where he has floppy ears and itty bitty paws. Notice of Hiatus: At the moment I'm going though a bit of turbulence and won't be able to update for a while. I'm also unsure about weekly/monthly releases. I'm considering writing a large group of chapters then posting them all at once or otherwise setting up releases in a way that makes sense. I'm still figuring out how to go about this particular endevor and thank you for your patience.
