《Together we howl》Chapter 2

It's been a few weeks since the argument at the Burrow, I have yet to step foot back inside. I have been living with my parents, who returned to my childhood home not long after regaining their memories. The Weasley siblings, along with Harry have been extremely supportive and they have helped me more than they would ever know. Even Percy, who I never really got along with, has come to visit me on his days off and we would spend hours in my library, reading and discussing literature. I've come to learn that Percy is truly misunderstood, despite what others see, he's extremely caring and rather protective of those he cares about. He has had to live with people discriminating against his family for their lack of wealth, which results in hand me down clothes, second-hand books and rare occasions of luxury. It was only during the war that he truly understood, despite it all, he had something that most rich pureblood never did. He had a family that loved each other, he had parents that took the time to show just how loved and adored they were. He has siblings, and though he finds them irritating at times, he knows that no matter what, they would always have his back as he would have theirs.

I'm currently in my room, standing over my desk with my palms on either side of a large map. I focussed my attention on one specific country. As a child, I had always wanted to go travelling and experience different cultures but ever since going on the run with Harry and... Ronald, travelling for weeks, even months continuously wasn't something that I think I could handle. Don't get me wrong, I will spend some time in different places but I want somewhere that I could call home. Somewhere that has magic but a place where no one knows me. I decided to contact Kingsly, hoping he would know a place and thankfully, he did.

All my belongings were packed and shrunken down, making sure they were safe inside my leather jacket. I had emptied some money from my vault but made sure to keep a large amount inside. The goblins provided me with a special card, that works in both muggle and magical stores and also cashpoints which will also allow me to convert muggle money into Galleons and vis versa.

I looked into the mirror, noticing the difference that have occurred during the last few weeks. My hair reached my hips in tamed curls, I had dyed my hair chocolate brown with some lighter highlights. My nose now has a ring on the right side and due to the sudden heat that brightened up Britain, my skin was darker and my freckles stood out more. I looked down and noticed how different my figure has changed, luckily with help of some potions, my health has gotten much better due to the lack of food from when I was on the run. To help control my temper, I had started to work out and because of that, my figure changed into an hourglass, and my assets had somehow plumped up. Which was rather annoying because I had to buy new underwear and bras.

I had gone to a tattoo parlour, located in Diagon alley with Ginny, who had always wanted tattoos like her older brother, Charlie. Somehow, she had convinced me to not only get one but three. We got matching wolf tattoos on our forearms, when stroked, it moves and begins howling, though it's silent, of course. Ginny also decided to get wolf prints up her spine and a beautiful grey coloured rose on her shoulder. I loved the look of her spine tattoo, but I wanted something that represents the people that we lost. I remembered a quote that Sirius had repeatedly said, "The ones that love us, never really leave us" so I decided to get that. For a reason unknown to me, I wanted a large and more detailed version of the deathly hallows symbol, which I got on my ribs and it was rather painful. Thankfully, due to our magic, they were healed within the hour.

I took a deep breath and made my way downstairs, where my parents were waiting to say our goodbyes. They were extremely supportive of my decision and more than happy to travel to see me.

"You ready to leave, sweetheart?" My mother said softly as she approached. I nodded my head with teary eyes, she noticed immediately and pulled me into a hug, one full of love.

"You deserve this, you have done so much for someone your age and you deserve a break. This is the start of your next great adventure, don't waste it and don't worry about the rest of us, we will come to see you" I nodded my head against her shoulder and when she pulled back, she placed a kiss on my cheek before I was brought into another hug by my father.

"We will miss you, but your mother is right. You deserve the world, don't let anyone tell you otherwise" He said softly, causing a small sob to leave my mouth, he tightened his grip for a brief moment before pulling away. I let out a watery laugh as I wiped my tears from my cheeks.

"I love you both, so much"

"We love you too" with one last hug, I exited my family home and apparated outside of the burrow. My nerves increased but I wanted to say goodbye, though I know they'll be more than happy to visit. I took a deep breath and made my way to the door, giving it a loud knock. I waited patiently until the door was swung open, revealing Mr Weasley.

"Hermione?" He said, his eyes wide in shock. I let out a small giggle and nodded my head, he immediately wrapped his arms around me, pulling me into his chest.

"Oh sweetheart, I'm sorry I wasn't there when everything happened. I am furious but I think you handled the situation perfectly" He said softly, causing me to let out another sob which made him tighten his hold.

"I'm sorry Papa" I sobbed. He began to whisper comforting words and rub my back, which he had done plenty of times when I would have small breakdowns.

"Let's get you inside," He said as he pulled away, I nodded my head and followed. I noticed the kitchen was empty and the house was silent, making me frown slightly. Arthur noticed my confusion and let out a chuckle.

"Everyone is in the living room, except Ron, he's in his room" I nodded my head and let out a sigh of relief, the muscles in my shoulders relaxing instantly. He wrapped an arm around my shoulder and guided me toward the living room. Ginny sat in between the twins, speaking quietly by the window. Bill and Charlie were playing wizards chess, Harry sitting beside them as he observed the intense match. Percy was sitting with a book in his hand whilst Mrs Weasley sat in her usual armchair whilst knitting.

"Everyone, we have a visitor" Arthur announced, gaining everyone's attention. Gasps were heard throughout the room, and everyone's eyes raked over me, making me feel slightly uncomfortable but overall, it boosted my confidence quite a bit.

"Uh, dad, who's that?" Charlie questioned with a confused frown. Everyone turned to him with a 'are you serious' expression.

"It's Hermione, you buffoon" Harry responded with a chuckle before raising from his seat and pulling me into a tight hug.

"Why do you look hot? Which is weird because you're my little sister" Charlie questioned with wide eyes, making everyone laugh, except Molly, who was looking at me with slightly narrowed eyes. Harry pulled me further into the room where everyone greeted me with hugs and compliments. The twins sat on the couch, dragging me with them and making me sit on their laps, which wasn't an odd thing since they've been doing it for many years.

"Boys, that is highly inappropriate. That's your brother's fiance" Molly said with a disapproving tone. All chatter died down instantly, they looked at their mother with contusion and disbelief whilst I looked downright disgusted.

"Fiance? Mrs Weasley, your son and I are no longer friends, let alone engaged"

"Nonsense dear, of course, you're engaged. you would make the perfect wife, looking after my Ronald" My eyes widened and my mouth fell open in shock, I looked around the room and I could feel and see the anger and disapproval on their faces, including Arthur.

"Molly, Hermione will not be marrying Ron. Especially not after what he put her through" Arthur said with a stern tone, which was something that we rarely hear.

"How could you Arthur, that is your son" Molly screeched, jumping from her seat with her hands on her hips. Everyone cringed back at her tone and volume, though Arthur seemed unbothered and his expression remained blank.

"Our son hurt this poor girl which means our son will face the consequences. Due to his actions, he lost the best thing that ever happened to him. Due to his actions, Hermione has distanced herself from this family. Due to his stupid and selfish actions, I have lost a daughter" We all stared in disbelief, Arthur has never raised his voice to any member of his family, especially not his wife but the fact that he was doing so, on my behalf, caused a warmth in my heart that I hadn't felt for a long time. I grabbed hold of his hand softly, gaining his attention.

"Thank you, Papa, but please relax and ill handle it" He hesitantly nodded his head and leaned against the wall, his eyes narrowing onto his wife.

"Mrs Weasley, I agree with everything Arthur said. His actions have consequences and I will not stay with someone who will happily cause me pain. I'm not sure where you came up with the idea of being his fiance and I will never be someone's housewife, I have plans for the future and running around after a grown man will not be one of them. I have come here for a reason and then I'll be going"

"What's the reason spitfire?" Fred asked. I took a deep breath and grabbed hold of the twin's hands.

"I love you all, so much that it hurts. You are all my family but I decided that I no longer belong here. There are too many memories and I have a chance to start a new journey, but it won't be in Britain-"

"Y-You're leaving?" I nodded my head slowly as my eyes remained on the floor.

"If this is what's best for you, we will support your decision," Arthur said softly as he placed his hands on my shoulders from where he was standing behind the couch. I looked up and gave him a thankful smile before nervously looking around the room, noticing the tears in their eyes.

"You're more than welcome to visit, believe me, I would love for you all to come and live with me but you all have your own life here. I don't want to drag you away from your home" The room remained silent for a few moments until Ginny stood from her spot.

"Excuse me" She whispered before leaving the room, I let out a sad sigh and began playing with the twin's fingers.

"Is this because of our prat of a brother? Because if it is, you don't have to leave. We'll make sure he won't bother you again"

"Percy" Molly scolded with wide eyes, whilst the twins sniggered from behind me. I shook my head with a small smile.

"He's only a small per cent of the reason Perc, I need to do this for me" They all nodded their heads, though I could see the sadness evident on their faces.

"I wanted to say goodbye, but the floo will be connected and you can come to visit whenever" I announced as I stood. Everyone followed suit and I began to say goodbye, which was full of tears and laughs. I walk towards Harry, who was standing with his hands in his pockets and his head down.

"Harry" I whispered, his head shot up and my heart clenched at the sight of his bloodshot eyes and tears on his cheeks.

"I don't want you to leave, please don't leave me" I begged as tears flowed down his face. I let out a sob and pulled him into a hug. A golden glow surrounded us, our sibling bond knowing that we were in pain and needed comfort.

"You will be the best damn auror they have ever seen, Harry James Potter. I would love for you to be there with me, but this has always been your dream and I refuse to be the reason you give that up-"

"You're more important"

"No Harry, your happiness is more important. You deserve all the happiness life can give you. You have been through so much and as I said, you will always be welcome at my home and you will have a bedroom waiting for you" He let out a sob and tightened his hold, my head laid on his chest as I cried as I have never had before. Our attention was drawn as someone cleared their throats from behind us, we pulled apart and turned towards the door, where Ginny was standing with a wide smile.

"Ginny?" Arthur said with a confused frown.

"My dear sister, did you really think you could leave without me?"
