《The Midnight Man》Chapter 22 - Last Chapter!

A few months later and Sam, Colby and Kat are doing great! They all still miss their old lives and constantly think about what would have happened if they'd just acted like sensible adults. They pushed boundaries that fateful night, and now even though they are fine like this, they still regret summoning The Midnight Man. Sam's parents still live in the same house, which makes Sam happy. He can still see his parents every day, they just can't see him. Sam feels bad about Kat and Colby not being able to see their family and he knows it's all his fault. No matter how many times they tell him it's not, it is. And it always will be.
Sam let out a big sigh and was snapped out of his thoughts by Katrina opening his door.
"Hi," She said walking into Sam's room and closing the door behind her.
"Hello," Said Sam, a sad tone in his voice.
"You were thinking about it again, weren't you?" She asked sitting on his bed. Sam sat up and sat next to Kat on the side of his bed. He let out another long sigh as Katrina pulled him close.
"Sam, for the millionth time, please just stop thinking about it." She pleaded, "Thinking about it will do absolutely nothing but make you feel worse!"
"I know, it'll take time for me to accept it, but that's ok. I have all the time in the world, and more!"
"I love you," Kat said kissing him on the head. "You still up for that date?"
"Always," Sam said holding Katrina's hand tightly, a massive smile spread across both of their faces.
Maybe being a ghost wasn't that bad after all; Sam could still date Kat, remain friends with Colby and see his parents. Sam would obviously prefer living over dying any day, but he had to admit, being a ghost was pretty cool!
