《Living With The Asshole》Chapter 7

''Hey,"Amanda said as I entered the house.
''Hi Amanda," I replied.
Oh crap.I just remembered I had to ask her to let me stay at her house for a little more while till I could figure things out.
Amanda was sitting on the couch, painting her nails a bright blue.
''Nice colour," I commented as I sat down on the opposite couch.
''Thanks," she grinned.
"So,Amanda there was something I needed to talk to you about."
"Yeah,go ahead."
Before I could say anything ,Aaron came inside. He took his phone out of his pocket ,tapped the screen a few times and then held his phone next to his ear.
"Hi.I'd like a double cheese pizza with pepperoni. No,DOUBLE CHEESE.Make sure it's double cheese,'' he said loudly and then hung up.
Aaron and his obsession with pizza.
"What were you saying,Ashley?"
"So,um you know how..."
I told her the entire situation.
"Ashley, you can live here for as long as possible.I really wouldn't mind having you here. You can live here for as long as you need to."
These people were just so kind.
"Yes, little dumbhead, you can live here for as long as you want."
"Dumb?"
"Yeah, you're pretty dumb,"he replied.
"If by dumb you mean beautiful and amazing then yes I am dumb."
"Oh, really?"
"Yes, jerk."
"Who do you think you're calling a jerk?" he raised his eyebrows challengingly.
"You?"
"Then you're -"
"-Oh, for God's sake, quit it Aaron," Amanda groaned in annoyance.
"But she start-",
"-Shut up," Amanda cut him off again.
But of course, this didn't stop him in any way.
"She started it."
"Me?What? No,actually you know what?Forgive me for forgetting what an idiot you are and what-"

"What the hell did you just call me?" he yelled.
"FOR THE LAST TIME, STOP IT YOU TWO!" Amanda yelled, effectively shutting the both of us up.
"Both of you go to your rooms, right now.I can't deal with this."
Neither of us made a move to leave and we kept staring at each other with narrowed eyes.
"GO!" she yelled again. She looked kind of intimidating so I just got up and rushed towards the stairs bumping into Aaron.
"Watch it!What the-"
Amanda coughed.Aaron and I shared a worried look before hurrying upstairs, nearly tripping each other in the process.
Once we were both upstairs and out of Amanda's sight,we looked at each other.I bit my lip when I saw Aaron's lips twitching.
Before we knew it,we were both laughing.
I don't even know why we laughed. It wasn't that funny. But for some reason for the next couple of minutes we just kept laughing loudly like idiots.
"That was..." Aaron breathed.
"I know," I chuckled.I saw Amanda standing near the stairs and shut up.
She looked really annoyed.
"You guys..." she trailed off, shook her head in disbelief and went to her room.
I realised that this was the first time I'd had such a good laugh after the whole Kayla thing.
And to think Aaron was responsible for it was just unbelievable.
I looked at Aaron. He was smiling at me.He really was goodlooking.
I couldn't help but smile back at him.We were quiet for a few seconds but it wasn't awkward.
The door bell rang, breaking off the moment. He did not even glance at me before running downstairs so fast, you'd think he was running for his life when he was just going to get his pizza.

Shaking my head,I went into my room and started working on the event. It would be pointless waiting for Aaron to come back and talk to me, especially now that he had gotten his pizza. Not that I expected him to,anyway.
I started off by listing the people who could assist me,Trent obviously being the first one that came to my mind.
He was a genius. He was not only good at giving advice but he was also very smart. He was the best person to ask for help.
Trent.I sighed.I felt so bad for him.He had never been able to express his emotions.I knew he was heartbroken but he wouldn't show it.Not really.
Even today when I'd met him, we'd only talked about the event.I hadn't even gotten the chance go ask him how he was.
I had to do something.I had to help him.Maybe working on the event would keep his mind occupied.
I quickly grabbed my phone and called him but he didn't answer.I dialled again,no answer.
I frowned.This was unusual.
I tried calling a few more times but got the same response every time.
Worried,I left him a message.
"Trent where are you?I'm getting worried now. Please call me as soon as you get this."
I chewed my bottom lip.Trent never did this, ever.He always answered immediately and now I'd called him nearly ten times and he was still nowhere to be found.
I called his house phone. After sometime of ringing someone finally answered.
"Trent?Are you-"
"Is that you Kayla?" she asked.
She didn't know about the breakup, I thought.
"Hey Cara.No,it's me,Ashley."
"Oh,hi honey!How are you?"
"I'm good,Cara. Can you please call Trent? It's kinda urgent," I said.
"I had to ask him about um, a project we need to do this summer," I quickly added, not wanting her to get worried.
"Yes,wait a minute honey," she said and I heard the sound of the phone being put down.
I could hear footsteps, followed by silence.A couple of excruciatingly long minutes later she came back.
"He isn't home, sweetie.I'll let him know you called when he gets back."
"Oh,right.Thank you,Cara.Bye"
I hung up.
So he wasn't home and he didn't have his phone or he had turned it off or something.
He wouldn't ignore my calls like that.
But where was he then?

Wesley is a devout Christian who seeks salvation for both he and Kareem. Both have their secrets and as the two are forced to spend more time together they learn more about each other and themselves. Together they come to qustion the meaning of power, Christianity, and how far the definition of humanity truly goes. Sustenation is the corner where nutrients meets addiction. Will Kareem and Wesley be able to separate the two? Note: I update my other fictions weekly, but I'm not sure what the schedule for this one will be. There's no real plan here. I just had an idea and decided to run with it. I usually plan excessively before I start a fiction, but I don't have a plan this time. It takes place in the same universe as the Exsanguinate fiction, but doesn't really have any links to the other books.

This must be in the hidden gems collection " -3ndlesslove"This was, by far, the best one I've read. It just resonated with me when it came to Noah's POV. It wasn't something that just magically came together. It took time and effort for them to get to where they are, and I respect that. It taught me more about how to look at things so thanks a lot for making this book. I meant a lot to me. I will definitely read the sequel and your other books" - Generik_Jay
