《RESCUED AND RISEN》Chapter 6

"Why are you holding me hostage!?" I yelled as Lucas dragged me inside the elevator. "I don't belong here, you need to let me go"
"You do realized fighting with me about it isn't going to help your case" Lucas replied as he let go my arm and press the button.
"Why am I here?" I asked in barely a whisper this time. It was obvious that me yelling at him isn't going to get me answers or freedom. "Why aren't you letting me go?"
"You know too much" was all he responded before pulling me out the elevator with him.
"Know too much about what exactly?" I asked frustrated. "That you're some drug dealer or something? I was hooked on drugs for years, you helped me. Do you really think I'd go ratting you out or something? I don't eben know anything about you except your name...I still don't get it why you're keeping me here locked up here. I can't contact anyone, my mom, Katie, Nora? They're probably worried sick about me. Especially my mom... Please you got to let me go or contact her or something. She's sick and who knows what could happen if she worries about my disappearance too much..."
"She's fine" Lucas said cutting off my rambling.
"What!?" I asked surprised. "H-how did you...how would you know that?"
We were inside his apartment now and even though it was the first I was seeing anywhere outside the room he had me locked up in all these weeks, I didn't have time to focus much at anything. When he didn't respond but instead let go off my arm and started taking off his jacket before walking away from me I had to stop him. I ran in front of him putting a hand on his chest to stop him from moving another step. The dangerous looks I received from doing that had me withdrawing my hand instantly and apologizing.

"Sorry but... What do you mean my Mom is fine? How would you know that?" I asked him. Lucas only gave me a look which I'm guessing it meant he had seen her. "But how? How did you find my mom...how would you even know that's my mom or where to find..."
"She's quite young, I have to say" Lucas replied folding his arm across his chest. "I myself had a bit of a hard time believing she was your mother"
"She had me at 18" I responded. "How is she? How did you even know where to find her? How..."
"I have my ways" Lucas replied. "She was worried about you but I assured her you are OK as long as you do what I say?"
"What do you want?" I asked after hearing that. "Could you just leave her out of this? Just tell me what you want".
"I just need you to answer some questions I have" Lucas responded as he sat down on the sofa that was in the living room. I hadn't even had the time to noticed it before.
"Ok" I said hugging myself. I always hated when people try to figure me out. Lucas gesture to another sofa for me to sit but I declined by shaking my head. "I'm alright standing"
"I insist" Lucas said in a threatening voice which had me taking a seat immediately. "I'm just curious... How does a seemingly innocent girl like you ended up in a business like Alfredo's?"
Hearing Alfredo's name and remembering what happened to him made me tensed. I was immediately reminded that Lucas wasn't any ordinary guy-he was dangerous. And in addition to that, I hate remembering how my stepfather sold me to Alfredo.
Lucas voice was what snapped me out of my panic and reverie.
"The whole point of the question, is to get an answer Amy"

"Sorry... I... I was sold to him by my stepfather" I finally whispered. "Right after mom developed her heart condition, he just... He sold me to Alfredo in order to keep him high. And he just booked my mom into that nursing home"
"How long?" Lucas asked.
"It was... I was 17years old. I've been forced to work there for five years... I didn't have a choice. I tried to leave before but that only landed me a few beating which resulted in me receiving a few fractures from time to time. And...and then I..."
Lucas cut me off before I could say anything else.
"Then you became hooked and drugs and couldn't stay away long enough before returning to him for a fix" Lucas finished. "Am I right?"
"Being hooked on drugs wasn't a voluntary choice. I was forcefully injected and ever since I got addicted" I told him. "I had no other choice but to do whatever Alfredo asked. That was why I was in that room the night you were there. He told me I had to make sure I got you to agree with waiting longer for the money by keeping you satisfied. I was threatened...if I...if I didn't do what he asked he wouldn't give me my fix and I'd have Solj to deal with... Not that things worked out for me anyway... I still got beaten".
Lucas face softened a bit but within seconds his expressionless face was back.
"You're probably keeping me here because of what happened and you think I'm going to go to the police or tell someone... But I'd never do that. I'm not stupid, I know what could happen if I do... That is why I'm begging you please...let me go" I tried reasoning with him. "I'm not going to say anything to anyone...I won't..."
"I can't risk that" Lucas said getting up. "You're a recovering drug addict, I let you go now and you go back to your old practice there's no telling what you'll do or say. I'd have to personally find you and take care of you before my boss does. You're only save or alive staying here"
"What?" I asked defeated. Pleading and begging of course isn't helping. I'm not safe staying here either, I don't know anything about him and even more I know he's a murderer.
"What exactly do you do?" I finally sum up the courage to ask.
"You're better off not knowing" Lucas respond as he took out his phone and turned to leave the living room. "I hope you like Chinese food"
With that I was left alone in the living room. Sighing defeated I slouched further into the sofa. Well at least I'm not being locked inside that stuffy prison room and chained to the bed anymore. Lucas didn't seem to take any precautions in making sure I don't try to leave while he left the room but I had a feeling if I was to try I'd definitely not like what would happen next.
Hey guys so its been a while. I haven't updated in forever, its just that I've been busy and all dealing with some important business and also preparing to start classes this coming week, I haven't had the chance to write much. It seems most of you didn't even missed this book or find it boring now but I'm still going to update for those who still want to read it. For those of you who continued to read vote and commented on the last chapters-thank you. My updates may be a bit shorter than usual since I'm going to be busy with classes but I'll still try to update every week if I can.

AutoDot
At the ripe old age of 12, Dorothy became a brand new Automata, synthetic beings with a living soul and memories of their previous life as an organic being. Join her on her slice-of-life adventures as she discovers what it's like to grow up as a robot that runs on magic in a world of Adventurers and dungeon explorers, and parents that can't quite get that she doesn't need food or sleep any more. AutoDot takes place in the same world as Automata Prime, but is set many years after the events of that series. This book is suitable for both kids and kids at heart that enjoy some crunchy LitRPG elements. I won't be releasing chapters on a schedule for this one, instead I'll be posting them as I write them with a target length of about 4500 words per chapter. Polly and Drake
Drake has been searching for a job as a personal guard, but wherever he turns, he is kicked out without fail. It's not that he's terrible with weapons, or inattentive. It could be because of his obvious racial heritage. Or because of Polly. With his funds dwindling, the only remaining option is to become one of the Cursed: poor souls that work for the Dragoneye Guild. In other lands, they may be called adventurers, saviors or even heroes, but not in the White Desert. Here, they are shunned and ignored. Depraved people who forsook their humanity for money and fame. With this choice, Drake may not only fall from grace, but also become one of only a few thousands capable of unearthing the secrets of ancient times. If he could get this guardsman notion out of his head. May contain gore, violence, profanity and traumatising content. Taking another shoot at this writing business. I write for fun and when I have time. There is no plan. The story may change drastically from what it starts out - or not. We'll see what happens. Currently, I'm aiming for a Slice of Life with LitRPG elements at a later time.

The Devil's Rain: Dark Ascension
The Devil’s Rain used to be something you would only dream of seeing in your lifetime, but over the years, a lot has changed in the world we live in. The rain first arrived about three years ago one summer, and in that same night, a very unlucky person in our town disappeared without a trace. Since then, The Devil’s Rain became something the whole world would have to recognize. Thousands across the country claimed to experience the rain, and consequently, thousands have gone missing. Joseph and his five college roommates embark on a mission to uncover the origins of the rain and hopefully put an end to it. However, they learn very quickly that the world around them is far stranger than even the rain would suggest. *This is a mystery action adventure! Details are incredibly important, so please note the important things our protagonist discover throughout. I would not recommend skipping chapters if you want a full understanding of the information.
