《A Bromance to Remember》Panic! (At the Disco?)

Sapnap immediately sat up and looked in the direction of the scream. When he saw George's panicked expression, he took off, not even bothering to check if Dream was following behind him. As he got closer to the two kayaks in the middle of the lake, he saw that Monica wasn't looking too great. Her eyes were poofy and red. She was wheezing, but not like Dream's laugh kind of wheeze. More like a "I am breathing in no oxygen and my lungs do not like that" kind of wheeze.
Dream pulled up beside the two. "George, give me your belt."
George whipped his head around. "I don't see how that is going to help the situation right now."
"Just do it."
With a groan and an eye roll, George took off his belt and handed it to Dream, who immediately looped it through the front Monica's kayak and connected it the back of his own.
With that, he began to paddle across the lake towards the dock, Sapnap and George not far behind. The moment he got near the dock, Dream hopped out and grabbed Monica's kayak to stop it. With Sapnap's help, they managed to pull her out of the boat and onto the dock. On the bright side, she was fairly light. Her wheezing had gotten worse, and her eyes were almost completely shut now. Without even a blink of hesitation, George scooped her up in his arms, bridal style, and began to jog towards the car. The other two boys ran ahead and cranked up the car and opened the door to the backseat.
George sat down behind the drivers seat and had Monica's body laying across the other two seats, her head cradled in his lap. To try and calm her down as they sped towards the hospital, George began to gently run his fingers through her hair, something he knew many people found to be relaxing. It seemed to work a little bit, but now her eyes were completely shut.

When they arrived at the hospital, George snatched her out of the car and ran as fast as he could towards the emergency room entrance. Since there were not many people there, another woman began to say a code into her intercom before rushing over with a stretcher. George ran along side Monica's nearly unconscious body until he was forced to stay back as they took her through a set of double doors. He stood in the hallway, alone, for a moment before turning back to head towards the waiting room. When he got there, Dream and Sapnap were already situated with a chair saved for George.
As he sat down, Dream pulled a small package of chocolate covered raisins from a bag and handed them to him. George accepted them, but as he ate them, he couldn't taste anything. He was too worried about the girl in the other room that had managed to capture his heart in a matter of days.
After about another hour of sitting there, an older gentleman dressed in scrubs came around the corner to greet George. Great, he thought. This is too much like the aftermath of the accident. But either way, George knew that this man had the answers he had been sitting without for what had felt like years.
"Is she going to be okay?" George spat out before the doctor could get a single word in. He smiled at George's concern for the girl. "She's recovering right now, but she will be okay. I was actually coming to reel you that you are welcome to visit, if you would like."
George didn't skip a beat. He was already on his feet and following this doctor with a sense of ease but also determination. When they arrived in the room, Monica looked better already. Her eyes were now opened, even though they were still slightly bloodshot. She looked at George and smiled sincerely. She was happy to have a friend by her side during all of this.

George walked over and took a seat next to the bed, a smile on his face the whole time.
"Who would have thought Forget-Me-Nots could do such a number?" Monica said with a giggle. George's smile melted off of his face. He was hit with the reality that he had almost killed the girl he liked.

Sexy Sect Babes
“One in a billion.” Jack kept repeating the mantra in his head. “One in a billion.” That was the number the Omni-Corps liked to cite whenever someone stepped onto one trans-mat pad and then simply… never stepped off the other. “Safer than a car,” he repeated as he slogged through the snow, his mining overalls doing at least a passable job of keeping out the cold as he brushed aside a tree branch. “Safer than a plane. Or a starship. Safest form of transport in the Star League.” He slammed his fist into a nearby tree, exo-empowered strength shattering it into little more than scattered bark and kindling. “Yeah, well I never heard of a car ride stranding some prick in another dimension!” He roared, his voice echoing through the seemingly endless forest around him. Then he kept marching. He’d seen the fire off in the distance. And given all the snow around, he sincerely doubted it was natural. Which left the unnatural. Which meant people. He hoped. Because even if the trans-mat had screwed up, he doubted it had dumped him too far off the central finite curve. The fact that the air was breathable and that he could recognize the trees around him as oak told him that much. And if the dimension he was in had trees native to Earth, chances are it would have animals too. Of which humans would hopefully be no exception. “Because I’ll be damned if I spend the rest of my days talking to goddamn squirrels.” No, if there were humans on this mudball, he was going to find them. One way or another.
