holding the shield in front of his figure in the old construction building. Sam, Bucky and I stood before him, looking down at the broken man. Personally, I didn't feel much sorrow for him, only for the loss of his friend but even then, it was very little.

"Walker." Sam said as John walked closer to where we were.

"You guys should see a medic, you don't look so good." John suggested.

"Stop Walker." Sam ordered him, getting him to face us again.

"What? You saw what happened. You know what I had to do. I killed him because I had to! He killed Lemar!"

"No he didn't, John." I carefully spoke, feeling all sorts of emotions coursing through me.

"Don't go down that road. Believe me, it doesn't end well." Bucky added. His face was bruised purple and red below his eyes.

"I'm not like you." John gritted his teeth. Bucky diverted his eyes to the floor, a sort of guilt or sadness taking over.

"Listen, it was in the heat of the battle, okay?" Sam started. "If you explain what happened, they may consider your record. We don't want anyone else to get hurt."

The man's blood dripped down one part of the shield, splattered from the red onto the white. John faced the floor, holding said shield at his side. His eyes held an emotion I didn't understand but I could tell it wasn't a good one.

"John..."

I watched him carefully, already forming a blade in my right hand and holding it behind my back.

"You gotta give me the shield, man." Sam told him, his voice and tone calm.

Slowly, John lifted his head to look at us. It felt somewhat psychotic and creepy.

"Oh..." he muttered, looking between us. For a short moment, his eyes stayed on me where I stood between Sam and Bucky before he moved onto Buck. "So that's what this is. You almost got me."

"You made a mistake." Sam said.

"You don't wanna do this." John's voice was quiet yet raspy.

It was silent for a short second before Bucky spoke. "Yeah we do."

John looked to him, the two of them and Sam running at each other. Sam got kicked back by John, and Bucky was punched backwards to the floor.

John stalked towards Bucky on the ground, lifting the shield and was ready to bring it down on his head.

Sam kicked John away, saving Buck but was shoved into a pile of metal tubing.

I lifted the knife, readying myself as I made my way towards John. He advanced to me, anger and determination vibrant on his face as he held the shield before him.

"You don't wanna try me, Eris. I don't want to hit a girl." He tried, his voice still broken.

"Why, John?" I queried. He lifted the shield up and I held a firm, strong grip on the rim of it. "Too afraid?"

He rammed the shield into my chest but I pushed it back into him, making him trip over his own feet and stumble. His arms went out beside him and I swiped my knife in front of me, still moving closer to him and managing to catch his arms and face a couple times.

Then, he swung the shield with all his might and caught my cheek with the rim. I could feel my skin open as metal met it and the feeling of warm blood trickled down. Holding myself up on all fours with my arms, I regained myself whilst Sam and Bucky had another try with John.

I peered over my shoulder to see Sam back on the floor and Bucky punching the shield which was moving John back. The two of them both had a firm grip on the shield and the look in John's eyes as he stared at Bucky shook me to my core. He looked murderous.

Bucky got hit time and time again, giving John time to move back onto Sam. Once again getting Sam knocked to the floor, John moved onto me as I stood on two feet again.

I formed a bo-staff with blades on either end, readying it in my hands as he neared. He threw the shield at me, fortunately I used the staff to knock it, making it head straight back to his hands which wasn't quite what I'd planned.

We fought for a while longer until he'd thrown me into a couple stacks of bricks which had me out for some time.

By the time I had awoken, Bucky was passed out on the floor with his robotic arm in spasms and John was straddling Sam with his hands on his wings.

"I. Am. Captain America!" He shouted through gritted teeth before pulling Sam's wings apart.

He then lifted the shield again, over Sam's head. I lifted myself with any strength I could muster and, just as he began to bring the shield down, I had my arms around John's waist and the two of us were rolling across the floor, entwined.

Now, John straddled me and, much like he had with Sam, he held my wings firmly. I could feel him pulling them towards him and I cried out in pain as the feeling of my wings tearing from my body rushed through me.

I kneed his balls, making him grunt and release me which gave me time to flip us over so now I was straddling him. I formed another blade, placing the sharp tip of it against his suited blue chest.

His eyes filled with tears and fear as I pushed the knife slowly further and his body tensed up. He begged for his life, staring up at me. My wings were out behind me, presenting themselves quite elegantly as I stared darkly down at the man.

As blood began to cover the end of my knife, I felt saddened and ashamed. I thought of Steve, Thor, even Loki. I thought of Bucky, and Sam and Hayley.

A singular salty tear dropped from eye, followed by another and another as I relieved the pressure on the knife and lifted it from John's chest, closing my eyes and hanging my head low.

Opening my eyes again, I wrapped a fist around the ripped material on John's chest and stood, lifting him up before throwing him backwards, shield still in his hand.

I dropped to my knees, my chest heaving up and down as I panted. Sam and Bucky worked together, pulling the shield from John's arm and snapping it whilst doing so.

"It's mine." John grunted, standing again.

"It's over John." Sam told him, now holding the shield.

"It's mine." John swung at Bucky who grabbed his neck and punched him solidly in the face.

Bucky then lifted John up. Sam ran at him with the shield whilst Bucky threw John into it which ended with the three of them laying on the floor with John half out of it.

Bucky stood, picking up the shield but dropped it beside Sam who still laid on the floor before walking away from him.

Still on my knees, tears falling down my cheeks and mixing with blood, I quietly sobbed. The knife in my hand disappeared, along with the bo-staff that I had dropped across the room and my knife from the start of the fight.

I took a deep shaky breath in and then out.
