I said as I stood near Sam and Bucky, both of which were still laying on the grass floor that consisted of white and yellow flowers scattered about.

Both of their heads basically snapped instantly to look in my direction, expressions of surprise evident on the both of them.

Sam lifted his red goggles onto his head, "Eris?" He sat up, as did Bucky. "I thought you were in New Asgard with Valkyrie."

"I was," I began as the two men stood to their feet, "but only to say goodbye to Thor before he left with the Guardians."

"So you and Thor, are you still in contact?" Bucky questioned, slightly screwing his eyebrows.

"Not particularly. It's rather difficult to contact someone in space." I replied almost sarcastically with a smirk playing at my lips but I restrained it.

As I said that, I saw Bucky's face almost soften, the two of us looking each other dead in the eyes until his moved onto the ground.

"Sorry about Redwing." Bucky said to Sam as the three of us walked down a road together.

"No, you're not." Sam responded. "What's going on it that big cyborg brain of yours?"

"It's computing."

Sam chuckled and I now held a small smile on my face. "You know what? I can actually see it. I can see the gears turning." Sam remarked.

"Oh, they're malfunctioning, shutting down. Yep, they're on fire." Sam continued to joke, making my smile only grow.

"We gotta figure out where the serum's coming from." Bucky moved on.

"Yeah, and how in the hell after 80 years are there eight Super Soldiers run in' loose?" Sam then added.

"Super Soldiers?" I queried, my eyes darting from each pebble on the floor as I thought for a moment.

"Yeah, they were Super Soldiers." Bucky said, still sounding rather grumpy, "did the super-human strength and speed not give that away?"

My head shot up, looking at him as he continued to look forward. Just as I went to say something about Bucky's rude tone, the sound of a vehicle approaching cut me off. The vehicle over took us, honking its horn and in the back sat John Walker and Lemar Hoskins. Great.

"So that didn't go as planned huh?" John said as the car came to a stop just in front of us and he opened the door for us.

The three of us kept walking. I heard John tell the driver to keep going, keeping a slow speed to keep with us.

"Look, at least we know what we're up against now, huh?" John annoyingly continued. "And we're pretty sure it's one of the big three, so..."

"Aliens, androids or wizards?" Sam queried.

"Pretty sure."

"There's no such thing as wizards." Bucky slightly raised his voice to be heard properly.

"Alright, then it's aliens or androids..." John spoke.

"Try Super Soldiers." I suddenly spoke after staying quiet for a while, my eyes finding the road ahead far more intriguing then John.

"Shit, super soldiers for real?" Lemar asked.

"Yeah." Sam replied.

"Wow. Alright, well, then we gotta work together."

"That's not happening." Bucky answered for us all.

"I think we stand a much better chance if we all just..."

"Just cause you carry that shield, it doesn't mean you're Captain America." Bucky said with his arms moving beside him as we continued to walk, with me between the two of them.

"Look, I've done the work, okay?"

"You ever jump on top of a grenade?"

"Yeah. Actually, I have. Four times. It's a thing I do with my helmet. It's a reinforced helmet." John responded, seemingly quite proud. I simply rolled my eyes. "It's a long story but, any.. look it's 20 miles to the airport. You guys need a ride." John then told the driver to stop, and he opened the little door for us again.

Sam and Bucky slowed, eventually coming to a stop. I stopped shortly after, looking back at them with an expression of disbelief as they considered getting a ride with John Walker.

"Okay, so we've got eight Super Soldiers on a bulk supply run. Why?" John asked once the car was moving again.

Bucky sat opposite Lemar, Sam opposite John and I sat the other side of Sam.

"They say their mission is to get things back to the way it was during the Blip." Sam explained. "Maybe they're just trying to help."

"They had a funny way of showing it." Bucky commented, keeping his usual way of being a grump apparently.

"That serum doesn't exactly have a great track record." John said before adding, "no offence."

"We have to figure out where they're going. They probably have other people scattered around, those willing to help them. How did you track them?" I asked, looking straight at John and no one else.

"Uh, no, we didn't track them, we tracked you," Lemar pointed to Sam, "through Redwing."

"You hacked my tech?"

"Sorry," John nervously chuckled, "it's not exactly hacking. It's government property. Kind of the government." John referred to himself, once again making me roll my eyes and shake my head.

"Does he always just stare like that?" John then asked, looking at Bucky who was indeed staring at him as if he wished he were dead.

"You get used to it."

"Okay, look," John coughed to clear his throat, "you know, things have gotten kind of, uh..."

"Chaotic" Lemar finished for him.

"Yeah." John agreed before continuing. "The GRC, they're doing the best they can to get things up and running smoothly, post Blip."

"Reactivating citizenship, social security, healthcare." Lemar listed. "Basically just managing resources for the refugees who were displaced by the return."

"The Global Repatriation Council does all that. I get that. So why exactly are you two here?" Sam questioned, looking between the two men sat opposite us.

"Well, they provide the resources and we keep things stable." Lemar answered.

"Yeah, violent revolutionaries aren't usually good for anyone's cause." John added.

I leaned forward, with my arms resting on my thighs and knees. "Said by the people with the resources."

"We got a lot of resources. If you guys, if you joined up with us, we could..."

"No." Bucky bluntly replied straight away.

"I got mad respect for y'all. But you were getting your asses kicked til we showed up." Lemar spoke.

"Let's not forget who had to save both of your asses." I held deadly eye contact with Lemar, reminding him that without me him and John would've been screwed.

"Who are you?" Bucky asked him, making Lemar's eyes pull away from mine.

"Lemar Hoskins."

"Look, I see a guy hanging out of a helicopter in tactical gear, I need a lot more than Lemar Hoskins." Sam remarked.

"I'm battlestar. John's partner."

"Battlestar?" Bucky asked in a mocking tone. "Stop the car!"

The car slowly pulled to the side, stopping by a small path.

"Look, I...I get it, okay?" John started as Bucky got out. "I get the attitude, I do. You didn't think that shield was gonna end up here. I get it, Bucky. And I'm...I'm not trying to be Steve. I'm not trying to replace Steve. I'm just trying to be the best Captain America I can be. That's it. It'd be a whole lot easier if I had Cap's wingmen on my side."

Sam scoffed and I looked off to the side with a tight, sarcastic smile.

"It's always that last line." Sam said before getting out the car as well and following after Bucky.

"Eris..." John said quieter, "I know you're abilities. I know how strong you are and I know how much Steve trusted you. I did my research about you when they said they were gonna recruit you. You are...you're incredible. You are capable of so much."

I kept my eyes away from both John and Lemar as I stood up, leaving the car. I stopped just after jumping off the back and closing the door, turning to face them again.

"Just so you know, Steve didn't need a reinforced helmet to jump on a grenade."
