《Wanna Join a Band? (TodoBakuDeku)》Chapter 14

"Deku, we're poly." Katsuki said with the most deadpanned expression Izuku had ever seen the blond wear, which was saying something.
Izuku just blinked at him a few minutes, wondering if that was supposed to mean something to him. "Um... I don't- What does that mean?" He asked after a few seconds a silence.
Shoto physically face palmed. "We're polyamorous, Midoriya. It means we're okay with being with more than one person at a time." He briefly explained.
The green eyes in the room blew open wide. "You what?!" He asked in complete shock.
"Well I mean, we aren't okay with just dating anyone else. We have to both actually like them, but yeah." Katsuki added slightly awkwardly, scratching at the back of his neck. He could feel his cheeks heat up and he mentally berated himself.
Izuku slowly nodded, taking in all of the new information. "Well that's... neat." He said, but winced when he heard just how stupid he sounded.
What was he supposed to say? 'Wow, who would of thought that the guy I had a crush on since middle school and his now, extremely attractive, boyfriend are open to dating another person. Mind if I just slip my application in?'
Yeah, he'll pass on that.
"Neat?" Shoto asked, dumbfounded by the response.
"That's seriously all you have to say?" Katsuki asked, just as baffled.
Izuku yawned, yet again, and nodded. "I'm tired, I called into work, and I'm being snuggled by two god tier cuddlers. It's neat until I get some more sleep." He explained, burying his head into Shoto's side, reaching blindly behind himself in search for Katsuki.
The blond had to suppress a laugh at the attempt and eventually just handed himself over to cuddle into the back of the green haired boy. "You seriously need a normal sleep schedule." He muttered into Izuku's strawberry scented locks.
Izuku had already shut his eyes and started to drift off. "Mhm, I'll get right on that." He slurred out.

Shoto lightly smiled down at the other boy as he fell asleep quickly. He had been ready to pass out in the living room, so it wasn't surprising. The dual haired male raised his eyes to meet the crimson red ones of his boyfriend.
"Don't worry, we'll help him out with it." He whispered.
"Damn right we will." Katsuki grunted out before settling in for a nap, even though they had honestly just woken up a few hours earlier.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A few days later, Izuku was sitting in his living room, back to staring straight ahead blankly. He was simply bored, but bored often left him alone with his thoughts too long for it to have a positive outcome.
After their short nap, Shoto and Katsuki had had to leave for band practice. The three of them didn't have time to talk about what the downstairs residents had admitted and they hadn't talked about it since. The past few nights thought, the two had been staying with Izuku, all three of them knowing it was the only way the green haired male would be getting any sleep.
At that moment, Izuku was just wait for them to make their way up stairs. He wasn't sure how long it would be, seeing as their arrival varied from night to night, but he hoped it wouldn't be to long.
Heavy a nearly silent sigh, Izuku dragged himself off the couch, dragging his favorite blanket with him. His cat, Mango, following after him. The small tabby always seemed to notice when he was in a 'mood' and tried to provide comfort. Last time he hadn't been able to seeing as he was at the vet.
Izuku walked into his miniature recording studio, allowing the cat to come along. He took a seat in his swivel chair, pulling his knees up to his chest as he turned his computer on and pulled up the software he needed.
The project he was working on popped up and he nearly smiled at how close he was to finishing the song. "Just needs the vocals now." He whispered, satisfied with his progress.
He pulled out his mic and messed with a few wires until everything was all set up and ready to go. He did a quick look over the lyrics, making sure he knew what he was doing, softly humming the tune. Once he was sure he had it, he hit record and started singing.
"So fire up at the little things
We're caught up in the webs we weave
Then we pluck on the smallest string
We're pressing on our bruise just to feel something
In the night that you walked out again
And the light with the yellow tinge
Your goodbyes, they never meant a thing
'Cause we're pressing on a bruise just to feel something"
While singing, he couldn't help but think how much these lyrics actually meant to him. He had written them when he was in one of his less happier 'moods', that much was obvious.
"So let go of me
And everything we should have seen
And you'll go and be everything you need to be
And I honestly wish that I could say I've let you go"
A shuffling noise caused Izuku to jump, Mango fleeing from his lap at the sudden movement.
"What the hell?!" Izuku shouted, glaring daggers at Katsuki and Shoto, who were both standing in the doorway of his recording room. That's when he realized he had forgotten to shut the door.
"You record music?" Shoto asked, his eyebrows scrunched in confusion. "Does anyone know?"
Izuku's glare didn't falter for a second. "That's none of your business! I thought I told you two to stay the hell out of this room." He nearly shouted, but kept his voice semi contained. He had sprung up from his seat and started to push the two from the room, shutting it behind him.
"The door was open and we could hear you in the living room anyway, what's the difference if we were their listening or here?" Katsuki asked, allowing Izuku to continue pushing him all the way down the hall.
"At least then I could have finished my take." Izuku angrily grumbled to himself.
"Sorry, we messed you up, didn't we?" Shoto asked, guilt taking over his features. He knew how much it sucked when someone interrupted a take or set that was going just right.
Izuku stopped, since they were in the living room now, crossing his arms with a huff. "Yeah, yeah you did."
Katsuki raised a brow at the smaller male. "So you know you can sing, yet you still won't join the band. The fucks up with that?"
The harsh glare was back on Izuku's face as he stared down Katsuki. "I don't know I can sing. I just enjoy singing and writing music, doesn't mean I think I'm any good." He shot back.
"But you are." Shoto cut in.
"Shut it." Izuku seethed. "I'm not joining your band, so stop trying."
"Why not? Give us one good reason." Katsuki said, crossing his own arms across his chest and matching Izuku's glare.
Shoto couldn't help but notice how similar they were in that moment.
Izuku answered in two seconds flat. "It's stupid." He said childishly.
"That answer's shit, put some actual effort into it." Katsuki said with a scowl, feeling mildly insulted.
Izuku took slightly longer to come up with another excuse this time, but answered eventually. "I have classes and a job, I don't have the time or energy to be part of a band." He answered with a snotty look, thinking he had one.
Katsuki just rolled his eyes. "Give us a reason we can't work around with different scheduling." He said right back, not letting Izuku win that easily.
And boy did the green haired boy look defeated.
Shoto decided he should probably step in, seeing as the blond didn't know when to stop. "Kat, just drop it-"
"I have stage fright, okay?"
