The drive back to the pack was quiet but comfortable, the pair enjoying each other's company. Quinn looked out the window, watching as the town faded into trees.

When they arrived at her house, Christopher quickly got out and helped Quinn out of his truck.

"Thank you, Christopher. I'll see you at 8!" She said with a bow before running inside.

'Alivia! Alivia, answer!!!'

'What.. what?! What is it?"

'Are you busy?'

'No. Why? Is everything okay?'

'Yeah, I just need you to get over her like now?'

'Right now?'

'YES!'

'Okay, okay. I'm on my way.'

"Oh, hey mom," Quinn said walking past her up the stairs. "I won't be home for dinner tonight. I have plans."

"Should I wait up?"

"No, mom. I've got a key. It's fine. Besides, I don't think I'll be out THAT late."

"Okay, honey."

Quinn ran into her bathroom and began to shower and shave. As she was finishing up, she heard Alivia inside of her room.

"Be out in a sec! I'm almost finished!"

"Okay Quinny!"

She washed her face and brushed her teeth before making her way into her room wearing her lilac robe and turban.

"Hey, what did you need to talk about?"

"I have a date..."

"Ummm, what? What do you mean you have a date? With who?" Alivia sits up on Quinn's bed, a smirk forming on her face.

"It's with Christopher."

"Ahhh!" She squealed, ecstatic for her friend. "When? How? You have to tell me everything."

Quinn explained the events of the day to her best friend. She asked if Alivia would stay with her while she got ready for their date.

"Im afraid if you aren't here pushing me, I'll chicken out."

"I wouldn't let you miss it for anything! Do you know what your wearing? What kind of place is it?"

"Im not sure... SHIT. I should have asked."

"Don't worry, I'll take care of it."

Alivia's eyes went glassy as she mind-linked Christopher. He wouldn't tell her where they were going but he gave the girls a "dress code" at least.

"Okay, I've got it."

"Will you help me pick something out?"

"You know I will" she said running into Quinn's closet and coming out with two different outfits. The first outfit was a simple white lace dress with off the shoulder sleeves and a ruffled skirt that landed right above the knees. The second outfit was a well fitted emerald green jumpsuit, cinched at the waist with a belt. It had quarter sleeves and a plunging neckline.

"Umm, I want to wear the jumpsuit. But don't you think it's too much?"

"Not at all! The jumpsuit it is!"

Quinn took her time doing her hair and make-up. She wanted it to be perfect. She was nervous but having Alivia there helped calm her. By the time she was finished it was close to 7:15pm.

Quinn's chocolate curls fell messily over her shoulders and back. Her makeup was done in warm browns and shimmering golds, accentuated with a small wing to add shape to her large blue eyes.

She had on the gold locket Alivia had given her, a simple gold cuff and gold moonstone earring to match the ring that on her finger.

"Heels or no?" Quinn asked, poking her head out of her closet.

"Yeah! Doesn't have to be crazy though."

Quinn put on her simple gold strappy shoes with a chunky heel and walked over to the mirror. She felt beautiful and nervous at the same time. A wave of inadequacy washed over her. Since the attack, she felt she'd never be enough. She was now feeling on the inside the ugliness that she felt on the outside.

"You look beautiful," said Alivia as she walked up behind her. "He's going to be blown off his feet."

"Thanks Alivia," said Quinn smiling at her friend.

She looked around for her phone noticing it on her makeup vanity.

7:45. Shit, he'll be here any second.

Quinn suddenly felt her stomach wrap around in knots. She didn't know what was to come and as ever second ticked on, she felt she couldn't contain the bile that was threatening to escape. She took deep breaths trying to calm her racing heart.

"Quinny! Hon, Christopher is here for you." The girls heard Ellie call out from downstairs.

"Oh no," exclaimed Quinn. "Alivia, I don't think I can do this. It's too soon."

"It'll be fine," Alivia grabbed her friend's hand pulled her down the hall and towards the steps. "Come on, he's waiting for you."
