《Invincible Ones [A Walking Dead Story]》Chapter 8- Politicions Are Always Evil Anyway...

I felt left behind. Abandoned. This must've been what it was like for Merle to be left on that roof. I never even got to say goodbye, they just left me like I'd be a nuisance.

I went outside for target practice. I used that pillow from the other day. I started from ten yards away, then gradually got farther from my pillow-target. I eventually practiced doing moves with my bow. I mastered the rolling into shooting position thing Katniss did in the movies. I'm so cool.

I notice Rick was hallucinating again, thinking he's seeing Lori. He kicked out that group Carl and I found. Rick was sort of broken. No matter how much I wanted to go after Daryl and Merle, no one would allow it.

There was a meeting in the cafeteria and I stood next to Carl. Not letting my bow out of my sight. Michonne was talking about how The Governor won't rest until we were all dead. Yay...

Always fun with that thought lingering around.

Rick meanwhile, was wandering in crazy town, population Rick Grimes. Hershel went out to talk to him and I was practicing my archery, I'm getting even better. That pillow is all torn up. Carl and Beth were hanging out and Carol and Axel were talking.

I turn around, about to head back for s break when Axel fell to the ground. "AXEL!" Carol screamed and gunfire sounds.

"Ember, take cover!" Carl shouts as Beth and Carl find a good cover. I was just next to the fence that separates the prison yard and the prison. I drop to the ground, hiding in the grass.

I crawled to the gate, trying to get there unnoticed. But instead I drew back my bow, and aimed for just above a bad guy's head. I released the arrow and it slices through the air, hitting him in the head. "Eat that, asshole!" I murmur and I crouch in the tall grass.

My bow wasn't an ideal weapon for a gunfight though, crap... I spot one of the Governor's men in a guard tower and take aim. I yell out in pain as I felt a sharp pain just above my right hip. I fall to the ground. I groan and press my hand against the gunshot wound. The gunshots stop, and for a moment I though it was all over. I heard Maggie yelling and Carl and Beth got better guns.

Despite my pain, I took aim and fire at the man in the guard tower. I missed by an inch. Everything becomes hazy and my vision became dark on the edges.

I was out before I knew it.
