《What happens in Vegas》8| Junkie

I woke up the next morning to a text from Oliver on our group chat reading-

Oli: Charlotte says to meet in the dining hall in twenty.

So, I'm assuming Bella isn't the only one asking about making this thing a group trip. In conclusion, everyone except Lucas and Ava are getting along. Well actually, we haven't heard from them since we got to the casino, maybe they've sorted things out and finally come out and said they like each other.

When I got dressed and downstairs, finding everyone else already at the table, except for Bella, I figured not. Lucas and Ava were still arguing. They were just being petty at this point but as per Bella's orders, it's none of my business and I shouldn't interfere. It was tempting though.

I looked to my left when I saw someone walking over. "Hey," she nodded at me before looking at the others. "Why are we just standing there?" she asked me.

"I don't know," I shrugged, chuckling before sitting down on a chair.

She gave me a weird look before sitting beside me, the only other free chair we had. Just my luck, huh? I took notice of her outfit that worked fabulously on her like every damn thing she wears. I'll never know how she does it, but she looks fantastic in everything.

She had on beige pants with a blank tank top, her hair left down, flowing behind her shoulders to her waist. She had sunglasses sitting on her head while she turned to everyone. "Where are we going today, Ms. Miller?" Ava asked.

"Today, ladies," she said. I cleared my throat and she looked at me. "And gentlemen," she smiled, "Today we are going to the Adventuredome theme park, tomorrow to check out the Stratosphere rides, and the day after that, we will go to Wet'n'Wild so grab bathing suits."

I wanna know who let her choose what they're doing and when they're doing it. That's three days straight of water and theme parks. She really is a roller coaster junkie.

"I told you we shouldn't let her plan it all," Ava said to Charlotte.

"Where would you want to go instead?" Charlotte asked her.

"Probably the same," Ava shrugged.

"Ah-ha!" Bella said smugly.

"So, we're going to spend the entire day at the theme park? Starting when?" Oli asked

"Starting a little after noon," she replied.

"And until then?" Lucas asked.

"Until then I don't know," Bella shrugged, "Walk around, roam the streets of Vegas, do as you please," she said.

After breakfast, Charlotte and Oli went out to roam around and all of us remaining decided to just head back to our rooms. Ava and Lucas both have their rooms on the same floor, I can only imagine how awkward they're feeling. We continued up to the sixth floor, heading to our rooms.

I figured it would be more fun to go to her room then hang around alone in mine. "Oh, please," she laughed, "Let yourself in, will you?" she said sarcastically.

I rolled my eyes while sitting on the edge of her bed. "I'd rather not get bored to death in that room on my own, thanks," I chuckled.

"Right, you'll just sit here doing nothing?" she asked while setting her phone down on the coffee table.

"I was hoping to get to know you a little today, but I doubt that will happen on any of the rides, so tell me now. Who is Bella Miller?" I asked.

She laughed before sitting on the floor leaning against the wall in front of the bed. I mirrored her position and sat across from her, my legs resting beside hers, my back against the bed. "Bella Miller is a girl in Vegas who is a roller coaster junkie," she chuckled, grabbing a water bottle from the mini-fridge.

I rolled my eyes, "Okay, I'll go the 20 questions way. Favorite color?"

"Black."

"Favorite movie?"

"Sherlock."

"Favorite actor?"

"Hmm, it's gotta be Robert Downy Jr."

"Favorite singer?"

"Harry Styles, hello?" she chuckled.

I laughed, "Favorite candy, this is very important."

"Sour patch kids. Yours?"

"Mine too. Good answer," I said, giving her a high-five. She laughed, leaning her head back. "Favorite food?"

"Trashy french fries and chicken nuggets from McDonald's. Or quesadillas, can't decide."

"Celebrity crush? I'll guess Harry Styles."

"You are very much correct," she smiled, "I'd say yours is... Selena Gomez?"

"Bingo. Favorite show growing up?"

"Mm, Suite Life of Zack and Cody, or Wizards of Waverly Place. Classic Disney channel, basically."

"I'd say Suite Life of Zack and Cody too," I nodded, "Favorite restaurant?"

"Ooh, does Taco Bell count?" she laughed.

"Something you really wanna do?"

"Bungee jump," she grinned.

"Something you're deathly afraid of?"

"Death. And deep waters or any sea creature. Except for dolphins, I think dolphins are cute."

"Even fish?" I laughed.

"Even fish. They're so... slimy, ew," she said, her nose scrunching up adorably in disgust.

"Favorite city or country?"

"Paris. Or Dubai, actually. Dubai is beautiful, have you been?"

"Yeah, I have, have you been to Dolphin Bay?" I asked.

"Oh, my god, it's amazing I loved it! It was a little weird kissing a dolphin though, I have to say. What about you? Tell me something you're deathly afraid of," she smirked.

"Snakes, I hate snakes," I answered.

"Weird enough I thought you'd be a Slytherin," she shrugged.

"I'm a Gryffindor and I actually found that offensive," I laughed, putting a hand on my chest.

"I'm a Gryffinpuff," she shrugged.

"I figured. Are you a Harry Potter person?"

She snorted, "I haven't even seen all the movies but Charlotte's made us take the quiz at least five times," she explained.

"You seem like you don't like saga movies," I noted.

"I don't actually, I can't watch more than three movies in a row about the same character. Marvel is an exception because they come out with different movies in between yet somehow their timeline adds up," she said sounding intrigued and confused.

"It's amazing how every little moment was planned," I chuckled.

"Who is your favorite?" she asked.

"I don't know, Captain America?"

"No," she whined, "Team Iron Man, come on," she kicked my leg.

"I say team Spiderman, he's the most unproblematic character there is," I chuckled.

"Fair enough, I'll take that," she laughed. We talked the whole time until it hit noon and I got to know a lot more about her. "Can I ask about the ankle?" she questioned as we got in the elevator.

"Ask away."

"What even happened to you?" she chuckled.

"I fractured it playing the second game of the season. It healed pretty quickly, luckily I was able to play the final, scholars you know," I explained.

"I fractured my ankle once, hurt like a bitch."

"How?" I chuckled.

"I was jumping a fence. Long story. So, do you have any college plans?" she asked as we stepped out.

"I'm still waiting to hear back from some scholarships but I don't really wanna go down to soccer/sports thing," I shrugged.

"Oh," she said, "What do you wanna study?"

"I don't really want to study right now," I chuckled, "But I'm waiting to hear back from Berkeley," I replied.

"Business?" she asked, seeming shocked.

"You sound surprised," I laughed.

"I am, I didn't take you for the business type of guy," she replied.

"I could do business, ultimately it has a longer career than any athlete or sportsman would," I shrugged in explanation.

"Fair enough, I'm doing business too, seems the most logical."

"You apply to Berkeley?"

"I did, actually," she laughed while nodding while we waited for the others on the couches.

"Did you hear back?"

"Still waiting," she smiled.

"Would you go if you got in?"

"Hmm, I don't know. I wanna see the world a little bit, college seems like a waste of money for our generation but I suppose I could always just drop out and start a business," she shrugged.

I admired her confidence. She gave zero shits about what anyone would say. She'll go if she wants, she won't if she doesn't, and she'll leave if she wants that too.

"I might take a leap year, who knows. Still enjoying it while I can, you know."

"Yeah, I know."

The others got here, we ordered the cars and then split up. I wanted to share a ride with her, to talk to her more, get to know her better, if we did that, one person would be third-wheeling a little bit because we all made up our duos now.

Charlotte with Oli, Ava with Lucas even if they don't admit it, and finally, I've clicked with Bella. After talking to her today, my impressions before knowing her were proven wrong.

Bella Miller is weird. Very weird. And I kind of like it.
