hand, Diana!" James Potter said frustratedly, trying his best not to roll his eyes. They were only a few hours in and he was already beginning to lose his patience with Diana.
"I don't know if I'm really comfortable with this, James. I really shouldn't have agreed to this." Diana mumbled, her eyebrows furrowed. Only a few hours in and she already wanted to back out.
"Well you did." James said, grabbing her hand and intertwining their fingers. Diana blushed at the action and fought the urge to pull her hand away from his. Whether or not she would admit it, she kind of liked the feeling of James' hand in hers.
"Potter." She whispered.
"What is it love?" He asked, looking at her.
"Everybody's looking at us." She said, shifting uncomfortably and looking around. She was right. Hogwarts students, and even some teachers, were looking at them strangely. They knew that James Potter loved Lily Evans, so seeing him holding hands with someone else was almost upsetting.
"Let them look." James smirked, satisfied with all of the attention they were getting. Lily was bound to notice that he had moved on.
"I'm not used to all this attention, James." Diana said nervously, trying her best to avoid all eye-contact with all the students who were staring at her.
"Better get used to it, Diana. You're dating me now." James winked and led her to the Great Hall.
"Could you be any more condescending?" Diana asked, an eyebrow raised once they sat down at the Gryffindor table. "Also, why can't we sit at the Ravenclaw table?"
"Yes. Yes, I can be." James joked, answering her previous question to which Diana rolled her eyes at. "I'll sit at the Ravenclaw table the next time we're her, I promise."

"Potter." They hear a voice say from behind them. They turn around to see none other than Lily Evans. There she stood with arms, crossed, red hair cascading down her shoulders, and a bored expression present on her features. James thought she looked absolutely beautiful.
"Yes, Evans?" He asked coolly, a smirk on his face.
"Dumbledore wants to see you. Head boy stuff." She said, not even bothering to look at him directly in the eyes.
"Oh, alright." James nodded. "You'll be alright here, love?"
Diana didn't even get the chance to answer him as James just dashed off to the exit of the Great Hall.
Lily Evans sat beside Diana James with a serious expression on her face, "You're a smart girl. Why are you dating him?"
Diana James didn't expect that kind of question to come from her. She didn't really know what to answer as she had never exactly prepared herself for this. Diana tried to find any trace of jealousy laced in Lily Evans' tone but she could only find hints of actual genuine curiosity.
Diana just shrugged. "Why not? He's cute."
"That's not enough to make a relationship." Lily said, shaking her head. "From one girl to another, be careful. He's not exactly the best kind of person."
Diana knew what Lily was talking about. James Potter didn't have a perfect reputation. He and his friends were notorious troublemakers. Diana had the urge to defend him, considering that they were now supposedly dating.
"You have to admit, Lily. He has matured over the years." Diana said. "He even made Head Boy."
"I don't even know why he got appointed to Head Boy." Lily said, rolling her eyes. "Just remember what I said."

With that, Lily Evans stood up and left Diana James alone with nothing but her thoughts. She didn't seem jealous at hers and James' relationship, but then again it was something relatively new to the student population of Hogwarts. She felt uncomfortable, being the only one in a blue tie in a table filled with people wearing red ones. All of them whispered, turning their heads to look at her. Giving Diana the expression that they were gossiping about her. She brought out a book from her bag and began to read in order to distract herself from the watching eyes and waited for James Potter to return.
