《The Dark Knows Me || Tokoyami x reader/oc》6 | A Day Of Change

"Maybe this one..? Or this one? Ugh, no." Lily sighed and plucked the red bow out of her hair.

"Hey--oh you're still at it." Her father came into her room, a bit surprised at how long she's been at it.

It's the first day of school for U.A. students. Surprisingly, Lily got up early in the morning to shower and get dressed already. She must have been excited..or maybe paranoid. The only thing that's taking her so long, for now, is to decide what kind of look to go for.

A new school means new people, and first impressions are everything. She wanted to look approachable at least for her first day since the people in her old school see her as an emotionless freak.

She wants to change. But she doesn't really know how.

"I don't think anything works.." The girl sighed in defeat, not being successful to choose a look. "I tried bows, hairbands, hats, nothing is calling out to me.."

Her father walked up to her and grabbed a cute rubber band from the table. "How about this?" He gently grabbed some of her hair from one side and did his magic.

"I think this suits you. Very well, actually." Her hair is pulled back into a small braid on her side, showing more of her face. She looked at herself in the mirror, checking to see if she likes it. It really does quite suit her.

"This is not bad. I like it. I thank thee, father." The white haired girl faced her father and gave a nod to give her thanks. "I can't believe it..my little daughter is going to the big school." The man sniffed as if he's trying to hold back his tears.

"Alright, alright, let's have breakfast downstairs." Lily stood up, shaking her head at her father's antics. "Ah, right. I shall now go YEET downstairs, see ya there, sweetie." As he said, he YEETED out of her room and into the dining room downstairs.

The girl grabbed her coat from her chair and wore it before grabbing her bag and heading downstairs to join her father.

She reached her destination and sat down at the dining table with her father sitting across from her. "Itadakimasu..!"

"Nice, you didn't burn the food this time." She joked, sneaking in a cheeky grin before taking a bite out of her food. "Oh hush, you. I'll have you know, I'm a great cook."

"The burnt pancake that's stuck on the ceiling says otherwise.." The girl replied before gulping down a glass of water.

"We don't talk about that." The man glared at his daughter, telling her to keep quiet about the incident.

"Moving on. I bet there are plenty of boys in your class, well not just in your class, in your whole school of course. Don't get close to them and don't let them touch you, you hear me?" Her father commanded as he pointed his fork at her. "If they touch you I am going to stab them with this fork."

"Noted, mamsir. Don't worry father, I can handle myself. If they come close to me, I am not afraid to break their bones."

(Midoriya doesn't touch her, yet he's always breaking his bones-)

Lily and her father walked side by side as they headed to school. Midoriya and her would normally go to school together but since this is a new school, they have to know where to go first.

The two finally arrived in front of the gate of the large building. Big school it is. The white haired girl looked nervous as they stood there.

What if it's her old school all over again?

What if she's a loner once again?

What if she really is weak?

"Oi." She got pulled out of her thoughts and turned her attention to her father. He patted his daughter's head reassuringly. "You're gonna do great. Go kill 'em."

"You want me to kill them?"

"Not literally--you know what I mean!"

After that amazing conversation, her father waved goodbye before going back home. The girl was left alone.

She wasn't exactly the social type. So communicating with others is going to be quite a challenge. She took in a breath of courage before turning around to enter her dream school.

"Young Lily." A familiar voice suddenly called her, making her jolt back in surprise. She looked around, trying to find the source, but she didn't see anything. "Down here."

"Ah, principal Nezu." She looked down to be greeted by the principal of the school, Nezu, who was giving her a warm smile. "Please follow me, I'll guide you."

Lily nodded, being grateful that someone is there to guide her. "I see. Alright then."

Nezu grabbed the girl's hand and the both of them headed inside the school, guiding her through the building. As they walked, the girl couldn't help but look around the place. "This really is a big place."

"Here we are." After many turns and hallway after hallway, they stopped at a rather huge door with her class name on it written in red bold paint. "I hope you remember the route we took."

For a moment Lily was silent, not knowing how to respond. So she kinda just...stood there, staring at the floor, trying to hide the embarrassment in her system. The principal chuckled softly. "I'll just have to guide you again tomorrow."

"I-I apologize for my idiocy-" The girl bowed her head in shame. Waving his paw at her, he responded. "No no, please you're not an idiot miss Lily. It's quite alright, these things happen." He then gave her a sweet reassuring smile.

"Y-Yes, sir. I apologize sir." The girl bowed her head in shame. The principal just gave out a hearty chuckle and shook his head, laughing it off. "I'll be going now, are you going to be alright on your own?"

She raised her head and faced him with determined eyes. "Oh, yes. I really must thank you, sir Nezu."

"Please, just call me Nezu." He gave her that beautiful smile of his before leaving the girl alone. She breathed in and out, knowing that this might not be a Disney land for all we know. Composing herself, she slid open the door before walking into the classroom.

She looked around as she was slowly walking, not a destination set in stone yet. Her eyes sparkled with interest about the people inside the room, which are technically her classmates now.

'Woah, so many people around. Ooh, that girl's pink. Wow, a guy with many arms! This is going to be interesting, at the same time anxious. They all look like they have amazing Quirks.'

After scanning the desks, she walked up to a random seat where no bags were placed and no one has occupied yet, assuming no one has claimed it yet of course. She looked around the room once again in awe.

"Get your feet off the table!" She heard someone suddenly demand, making her turn to where the noise was coming from.

"Eh?" She saw Bakugo with a guy with glasses and blue hair. The blond was smirking, obviously not being intimidated by the other boy's sayings. "It's only the first day of school and you're already disrespecting this school's property!"

Looks like the blasty blond made it in.

They kept arguing about it as the door opened. Lily decided to look around the area first before seeing who came in.

'Ooh, a guy with a tail. So many colored-haired people! They all look cool. Oh, that guy has green hair and- wait... Is that..'

The person seemed to have caught all of their attention.

"Izu-kun?"

"Uh, h-hi!"

"Good morning!" The blue haired guy from a while ago greeted. "My name is Tenya Iida." He said as he marched his way to the green haired boy. Acting a bit stiff if you ask me.

"U-Um, my name is Izuku Midoriya. Nice to meet you." He stuttered as he sweated nervously, not knowing how to deal with this....situation.

Lily looked confused, for she doesn't really know what's going on. She opened her bag without even taking a glance, grabbing a pen out of it. "Hey, I recognize that messed up hair!" A girl with brown short hair exclaimed excitedly.

The white haired girl took a glance at Bakugo since she thinks that he knows what's going on. When she saw his face, he looked rather upset. "Hmm..he's being grouchy again, I wonder if it's because of Izu..?" The girl whispered to herself, still being confused about what's going on.

"What the--" Bakugo caught the girl's glance, it seems that he's shocked to see her. "How the hell did you get here, White Hare?!" He demanded an answer.

"I somehow persuaded my father to get me enrolled into U.A. that's all." She innocently answered. But it seemed like the boy still had many questions in store. "Even if your old man changed his mind, why weren't you at the entrance exam?"

The white haired girl was at a loss for words. "Maybe you didn't have any eyes and I was there."

The blond boy was a bit surprised by her sudden sassiness. Honestly, she was also surprised by her own sassiness. "Stupid nerd.." Instead of bursting out in rage, Bakugo just muttered something under his breath.

"Jeez, you couldn't even fix your hair properly. It's hopeless making friends White Hare."

'Ah, so he noticed.'

Lily didn't exactly expect him to comment about her attempt at a new look, but here we are. "It's nice seeing you as well, Kacchan."

"Shut up nerd. I can't believe I have to spend three years with you annoying dorks again." The blond boy scoffed before facing away from her, ending their conversation.

It's always been a pleasure to talk to him.

It really is.

"Excuse me," a voice suddenly called her attention, the source was from the seat behind her. She turned to the source and saw a boy with a crow head, a notebook peacefully laid in his hand.

"This seems to be yours." He said, handing her back the notebook. "Ah, I t-thank thee. It must have fallen out when I opened my bag.." she said nervously, quite surprised at the sudden socialization.

'He looks...quite cool and interesting..! Also a d-deep voice-'

Reaching her hand out to grab her belonging, a page of the notebook suddenly fell out and landed on the floor. "A-Ah..!"

The crow-headed boy bent over and picked it up, observing it for a moment. The girl was quite anxious about what would be his comment. She doesn't like it when people judge her. The boy scanned the paper with interest. "Hmm..may I ask, did you sketch this?"

Composing herself, she replied. "Yes." He handed it back before crossing his arms and closing his eyes. "I must say..your artwork is truly amazing, capturing the person's features and expressions. You have a wonderful talent."

Expecting a judgemental comment, the white haired girl was surprised and flattered. It took a moment of silence before she finally responded. "Oh..t-thank you." She wasn't used to being complimented, so she was not sure of what to exactly reply.

"I'm quite thankful for your kind words..thank you, again." He then gave her a nod, saying 'You're welcome.'

Taking a look at the paper, it was a sketch of (her headcanonically mother) the Rabbit Hero: Mirko. She turned back and faced the board.

"Oh hush you."

'HE'S SO KAKKOII!!!'

Lily quickly composed herself as she placed her belongings back in her bag. She suddenly realized it was quiet for some reason from the other side of the classroom, so she checked it out. "If you're just here for fun, go party somewhere else, this is a school."

Lily was quite shocked to see the pro hero Eraser Head, specifically, in, this, school. "Hello, I'm Shota Aizawa. Your teacher." The man said with a monotone voice. That made everyone quite surprised at the sudden information.

The white haired girl was amazed to see the pro hero Eraser Head actually as their teacher. Even though she was fangirling a bit in her head, she kept her composure and listened to what he had to say.

"Right let's get to it," He said as he took something out of his sleeping bag. "Put these on and head outside." Everyone just looked at him quite confused.

Everyone did what he said before heading to the field.

•°•°•°•°•°•

"WHAT?! A QUIRK ASSESSMENT TEST?!"

Everyone yelled in confusion, making sure they heard their teacher right. "What about the entrance ceremony? The orientation?" The brunette girl from earlier asked, demanding an explanation.

"If you're going to become a hero, you don't have time for such leisurely events." He explained plainly, keeping his hands in his pockets. "Bakugo, you finished at the top of the practical exam, right?" He asked as he faced the blond. "In junior high, what was your best result for the softball throw?"

"67 meters." Bakugo answered. "Then, try doing it with your Quirk." Their homeroom teacher ordered. The blond grabbed the ball from his teacher's hand before walking over to the white circle that's marked on the floor. "You can do whatever you want as long as you stay in the circle."

The boy began to stretch before using his Quirk to launch the ball high up in the air. "SHINEEEEE!!!"

After a short while, the ball landed on the ground from a far distance. Aizawa held a device up that was connected to the ball and showed it to the students. "750 meters?! Seriously?!" They all gasped.

"This will be fun!"

"Fun huh?" The homeroom teacher gave a little sinister chuckle. Their cheers died as new information was brought to them. "All right. Whoever comes in last place in all eight tests will be judged to have no potential. And basically will be punished with expulsion."

"NANI?!!!!!"

Most of the students were shocked. Some were unfazed. Lily didn't know how to react to this. I guess it is to be expected from this big deal of a school.

Noted. Expect the unexpected.

"Welcome to U.A's hero course!"

The homeroom teacher smugly said.

"If you want to just fool around then too bad. U.A will do all it can to give you one hardship after another." He continued.

"Go beyond. Plus Ultra. Overcome it with all you've got."

Such determinating words have swooned the student's hearts. "All right, the demonstration's over. The real thing starts now."
