《The Invitation》Chapter 11

Well breakfast had certainly been eventful, thought Eliza, as she walked around the Manor grounds with her book in her hands, her mind spinning.

However, she couldn't say that she would miss Loretta, that woman had been getting on her nerves from the minute they had arrived with her incessant chatter. The sooner she had left, the better.

On top of that, that fool Nico had been flirting with her all throughout the meal and it had taken everything in her to keep her food in her stomach! And although it had been amusing to watch his failed attempts, it was annoying that he thought she'd be interested in him.

MEN

The one person that did interest Eliza however, was his sister, Leah. She had been awfully quite after the Armeshires had left, and looked like someone carrying a lot on her back - with secrets of her own.

Perhaps they could help each other - starting with this new task.

From where she was sitting in the manors backyard entrance, Eliza could see the beach that lay a few miles away and the whitewashed lighthouse that stood tall in all its magnificent glory.

She took out her book and scribbled something in it and sighed.

She was no where closer to finding the cure, but something about Lorettas leave still gnawed at her.

Had it been her own choice?

Or did the Armeshire's have something to do with it?

She didn't know yet, but she was hell bent on finding out.
