Jake's POV

*25 Years Later*

"Dinner's ready! Are you kids coming or what?" I holler upstairs. Cas rolls her eyes from next to me.

"Fuck off, Dad, we're seventeen!"

"Language, Lucas!" Cas calls. I hear the trampling of steps coming down the stairs.

"How many times do I need to tell you - it's Luke!"

I smirk. "That's my boy," I mumble, granting me a smack to the arm from my wife.

She huffs, clearly hungry. I lean over to give her a kiss and feel the familiar tingle as she returns the gesture.

"Get a room," Valerie says as she walks to the table with attitude in each step.

I smile again. "That's my girl." Another smack. I love my family.

We start piling up our plates when Luke joins us. He competes with me for the "Most Food On the Plate" award. No, it's not a real thing. At least not in writing . . .

As I sit down I look around the table, and I can't help smiling. I love my family. I love my life. I'm an adult now, with a wife who I will always love and kids who are the best that I love unconditionally.

"You okay?" Cassie asks me, looking up with a smile. I smile back and rub my hand across the small of her back.

"Of course. I'm the happiest I'll ever be."
