Cassie's POV

"We're home!" Jake calls out as he drags me through his doorway.

"We? Who's we?" A voice answers, that I soon connect with a tall and handsome maybe 19 year old as he walks out of the kitchen.

He looks at me with his blue eyes and smiles.

"Well hi there, what's your name?" I blush and respond with a quiet, "Cassie."

"I'm Nick, this little guy's brother," he tells me as he ruffles Jake's hair.

"Nice to meet you... Nick."

Holy shit this guy was hot. He was wearing jeans and a tight shirt that showed the muscle that was hiding underneath. He had dark brown hair that he ran his hands through to tame, and he had amazing blue eyes that matched his blue t shirt perfectly.

"C'mon, let's go to my room," Jake said, snapping me out of my daydreaming.

I followed him up the stairs and found myself... in a guy's room for the first time in my life.

I slowly looked around, seeing the huge bed in the middle covered with a black comforter, the walls painted a weird green, posters of random band and movie posters, as well as a few models dressed in bikini's. I felt so out of place, and awkwardly sat next to Jake on the bed.

"So, what do you wanna do?" he asked in a bored tone.

"Umm, I don't know, usually I start my homework when I get home."

He rolled his eyes and gestured towards the cluttered desk. I sat down and cleared what I could off of it, and set my math textbook down.

Close your eyes and let the word paint a thousand pictures. One good girl is worth a thousand bitches, bound to fall in love.

Jake's phone rings and he looks at the caller id and quickly picks it up.

"Hey...sounds good babe... oh hell yeah, that's for sure... no, tonight's perfect... "

I roll my eyes as Jake tries to sweet talk whoever's on the other end of the booty call.

We had FINALLY gotten home in one piece, and of course, right when I was about to start my math homework, he had to get a call from some thirsty ass girl who was trying to get with him.

He looks down and starts blushing at whatever gross thing she's saying through the phone, then sees the handcuffs, and looks back up at me.

"Fuck. Um, could we reschedule?"

He sighs and hangs up the phone.

"This dumb 'project' just cost me Melissa, I swear to god..."

"Melissa? Really?"

"What's wrong with Melissa?"

"I don't know, just that she's pretty much slept with the entire school, but whatever, it's none of my business."

"First off, those are just rumors, you don't know anything about her. And second off, you're right, it's none of your business."

I scoff, "Sure..."

Jake jumps up and leans close to me, his face reddening with anger.

"You know what? I'm tired of you thinking that you know anything about me or anyone else for that matter. Last time I checked, you only have one friend, and that's because you're a know-it-all bitch. No wonder no guys have ever even talked to you, you're annoying and think that you're perfect. I bet you haven't even kissed a guy, am I right? Wouldn't surprise me, who would ever want to kiss you?"

I opened my mouth in shock and quickly closed it, biting my lip to hold back the tears.

Why was he saying all of this? And why was it hurting so much? I should be able to just brush it off and pretend it was nothing. Fuck, I just want to turn around and run away from him, but these DAMN HANDCUFFS.

I turn my face away from him and quickly wipe a tear that had escaped with my free hand.

"Cassie I-"

"Everything alright here? I brought some chips?" Nick interrupts Jake and walks in with a bowl of chips and a smile on his face.

I turn around and smile back, "Yep, everything's all good."

"Good. Hey Cassie, would you maybe want to watch a movie after you finish your homework? Jake, you too I guess, since you guys are kind of a package deal." Nick says, scratching the back of his head.

"Yeah sure, sounds good." I answer, grabbing a few chips.

"Yeah whatever." Jake says in a monotone.

"Hellooooooo, anyone home?"

"We're up here!" Jake calls.

I look at him with a confused look.

"The Rents"

I nod in understanding. I close my eyes, wanting this dreaded day to be over.

I open my eyes and prepare myself to deal with Rowdy Ryder, the nickname my parents had given him.

Here goes nothing.
