I anxiously bounced my knee under the table in Principal Nezu's office. My Teacher sat to my right, and Mina sat to my left. We were now waiting for Nezu to return from his lunch. All of our heads turned to the door as he strutted through.
"Ah- I wasn't expecting anyone. Is something wrong?" He hopped up into his chair and turned back to us.
"My student received a call from the LOV late last night. They said they were going to be coming for her soon. I think its time to put under protective custody, at least till we know she is safe to return to her normal daily life." Aizawa Sensei explained. Principal Nezu almost spit out his tea as he regained his composure.
"Yes. I understand. I do expect her studies not to be interrupted by this. I would like her to continue her studies. That's all I ask." He answered back. I nodded and sat up straighter.
"I will continue my studies. I just want to know that I will be safe." I stated both nodded their heads.
"Mina, return to class. We have important matters to discuss." Aizawa ordered. She nodded quickly and got up.
"Bye Y/n! Let me know how it goes." She smiled brightly at me before leaving the office.
"Now then. Due to these new circumstances, I will have your school work emailed to you and you email back with the work finished. You might end up bouncing around between different Pro Heroes while under protective custody, but to start out, you will be with Aizawa." Nezu explained. I could hear the soft sigh of disapproval from Aizawa, but it was barely heard.
"I suppose its needed. Will I still be staying in the dorms or should I take her back to my apartment?" He sounded like he was stating the obvious rather than asking.

"I will have Present Mic sub for you till we get someone to stay with her. But you are right. The LOV knows where the dorms are, so it would be best for you to take her with you since they don't know where you live." He replied. Aizawa sighed and got up. He motioned for me to follow him.
"Understood. I will keep an eye on her till Someone can help keep an eye on her." He stated. He left the room and I quickly followed behind him.
.
"You got everything?" Aizawa asked, He looked like he was about to fall over.
"Yeah, I got my necessities and some extra stuff." I answered. He nodded and Started to walk off.
"What about you? Don't you have somethings you've brought here that you wanna take back?" I questioned.
"Not really. Everything here is just clothes and my bathroom supplies. I already have enough home so there's no need." He answered bluntly. I stayed quiet as I followed him out of the school grounds and into the busy streets. I barely kept up with him as we treaded through the crowds. It seemed like they were busy watching a fight. I tried my best to keep within arms reach of Aizawa. Soon we came to a stop in from of a gate. He had to input a numerical key and then it opened. I followed him up the stairs to his apartment and he unlocked it. The moment he walked in he was greeted with a flying ball of fur. Once Aizawa flicked the lights on I now noticed the ball of fur was a cat. A medium sized darker tabby cat. Aizawa sat down on the couch and let the cat down, but it refused to leave his side. It continued to circle around his legs and rub its head on his shins.

"This is my cat, his name is Oliver. I always call him Ollie." Aizawa told me, I sat down on the opposite couch and watched as Ollie strutted over and sniffed me. Once he was done sniffing me he continued to rub his head all over me.
"He seems to like you. Ollie is a good guard cat. What you saw when we walked in is what he does to unexpected visitors. Except he actually bites and scratches them." He explained. Ollie heard his name and trotted back over to his owner.
"He's a sweet boy. I've always liked cats. They don't make as much noise as dogs, and they're great cuddle buddies." I mumbled. He hummed a response before getting up.
"Follow me." He instructed. I got up and followed him down the hall.
"Here is your room. The bathroom is across the hall from it. My room is at the end of the hall. You know where the kitchen and living room are. Don't wake me up unless its an emergency. And do not answer the door for any reason. You come and get me if someone knocks." He stated. I nodded and went into my room. The walls were a plain light gray, the bedding is all white, and all the furniture is a cherry wood color. I could tell the room hasn't been used in a while. All the furniture had a light layer of dust resting on it. I dropped my bag on the floor and went to the bed. I pulled the pillows off and shook them clean, then I did the same to the comforter and sheets. I put everything back together and tossed my bag onto bed. I trudged down the hall and searched for a duster. When I found one I dusted off the furniture.
.
I woke up to a loud slam of a door. I had drool dripping from the corner of my mouth and my hair was all messy. I woke myself up and darted out the door. I carefully snuck down the hall and saw Aizawa and Present Mic. A pained sigh of relief left my body. I felt like I was going to explode if it was a villain.
"I'm pretty sure she's still asleep. Just keep an eye on her while I do my patrol." Aizawa's hushed tone echoed through the quiet apartment.
"Well it seems that she woke up. Don't worry! I got this. We can hang out and watch tv or something!" Present Mic's voice echoed loudly in the apartment. Both Aizawa and I cringed at the sudden loudness.
"Oh! Sorry." He apologised. Aizawa sighed sharply before walking to the door.
"Just make sure she's safe. I'll be back in a few hours. And for the love of all that holy, don't set my apartment on fire!" He grumbled. He turned and left, the door making a loud slam. He seemed pissy.
"So... What do you wanna do first?!" Present Mic excitedly shouted.
"I'd like to eat something and go back to bed." I mumbled. His entire mood soured and he looked all depressed.
"Aw. Party pooper! I was hoping we could hang out! I guess I'll just binge watch F/s* by myself." He whined, my ears perked at that name.
"Wait, did you say F/s? They're still airing it?" I asked. Present Mic smiled widely.
"Yeah! I love that show. Its great! Wanna watch it with me?!" He asked excitedly. I shrugged and plopped myself on the couch.
"Sure! Turn it on." I replied. He grabbed up the remote and turned on the show before plopping onto the couch beside me.
*F/s = Favorite show.

Saga of the Jewels VOLUME ONE COMPLETE
Prefer to listen to rather than read Saga of the Jewels? I'm also releasing it as a free audibook serial podcast on iTunes here! Epic YA JRPG-influenced GameLit progression ensemble-cast steampunk romance fantasy! When Ryn’s hometown is destroyed, will he be able to gather together the twelve Primeval Jewels in order to defeat the evil Emperor and save the world of Mid? A fan novelization of an amazing Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist, that currently releases at least one chapter a month. Epic in that this will be very long. “It’s a marathon, not a sprint!” (-Kandaj) YA in that this should be enjoyable to~13-year-olds and upwards. Some gore, some swearing, some sex, but nothing more than PG-13. JRPG-influenced / GameLit in that it uses lots of JRPG tropes, particularly from Final Fantasy. I’ve read a lot of fan Final Fantasy novelisations and you can basically think of this as a fan novelisation of its own Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist as a game... Progression in that the characters level up over time (though not with visible litrpg stat boxes). They grow in ability through training and experience, gain new skills, individually and as a party (think Chrono Trigger) and spend time discussing and stratgeising about how to defeat their opponents. Main protagonist from book three would definitely be able to defeat himself from book one! Ensemble-cast because we've got quite the roster of misfits here. The first volume is all from the main protagonist's POV, but it starts dancing between his and different POVs thereafter. Steampunk in that we’ve also got airships, steam trains, pistols and ambiguous ‘amber bars’ that function a bit like artificial lights… Romance in that there is lots of shipping here, a few love triangles, and you may be kept guessing as to who will actually end up together... Fantasy in that we’re in a vaguely pre-modern setting. We’ve got swords, magic, dragons, dungeons, monsters, all that good stuff. * "This story captures that Final Fantasy quality perfectly. Kiddy but also grim. The characters are great... Severely underrated and needs more favorites/follows. I look forward to seeing how this story will unfold." -Gilgamesh9999 "Starting at the end and jumping backwards is not a writing style seen every day. I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical at first, but you've executed a fairly crazy idea very skillfully so far. Overall, a strong start to what could be a very strong story." -RandomFF.netUser "You definitely have my interest piqued. It'll be interesting to see where the story goes... It definitely has an 'old school Final Fantasy' type feel to it, which I appreciate...Good job! I am glad you are going into more details about the story you laid out in the prologue...of course the big burning question is 'You know they lose in the the first chapter, so how will they end up winning?' That of course, is the story you're writing...so we'll see how it goes! #Following." -KyleQuicksilver (quotes are from reviews on other sites) * If you enjoy it, don’t forget to boost Saga of the Jewels on topwebfiction.com!
